ASSASSINATION JM 8.1x

Bit of an update.

first massaged the standard macro a bit to get garrotte up sooner,

Second is an aoe version, this basically the same macro just replaces Mutilate with fan of knives, served me will doing the mage tower back in the day I forgot I had it still.

The third is a stealth/opener of sorts. it basically shadow steps you to the target and cheapshots it. so starting from stealth a good opener just use the standard once cheapshot is applied. or vanish mid-fight to apply it also

OP macro updated for beta 12 build of GSE. which is also fine for PTR
IF you are getting spell ids and macro not working, then you have updated GSE incorrectly not my macro problem

Oh wow, code string, I loved to see and copy the full code and paste it into a Notepad and stare and at it and run through the code in my mind. Will the new GSE still have a way to export the code as in the old?

not really I mean I can but it will show spell ids instead of names so not really helpfull

I may be getting ahead of myself not having used GSE 2.3 yet but it seems like for coding and studying the code and just a clear view of the script itself, the new version is a step backwards.

Dont knew why we are dealing with raw code now but certainly from a “user” perspective, it is a step back.

Imagine having to code in machine language with no assembler, it was done but no one wanted to do it which is why all the great and sophisticated programing tools were developed, for ease of use for the user (programmer).

Not sure why it would look like a step back. Weak Auras, Vuhdo and even ElvUI use these strings these days and it’s all been working out fine for them.

It’s all to help with localisation in order to keep the memory usage for international clients down from 1GB or more while they had to try and translate the English version of the spell. Now this will use the spell id so no translation is needed and will keep performance and efficiency of the addon up.

The layout will still look the same once it’s been imported into GSE. Tim’s also spent a lot of time to alter the export function to now show which spells will be included into the macro.

Actually do you look at a macro and fun how each line will execute in your mind? Probably not, you import it and test it. Nothing has changed in that respect.

“Actually do you look at a macro and fun how each line will execute in your mind? Probably not”

Actually, since the code is somewhat simple and I do understand some of the mechanics (wrote test scripts with /whisper) to see how things work, I do go through it in my mind. I still dont understand some of the macro commands themselves but I will get there.

What do the ring = true (or false) or helm =true (or false mean) as an example, dont know what significance that has on the script, I have seen that in some scripts and not in others.

But I’m not smart enough nor do I own GSE itself so I’m grateful to the development team.

When you have a look at a GSE macro when right clicking the macro, it will put it into edit mode.
When you click on the 1 tab where the macro sits, there are some options on the right hand side. They will look like silver check marks. These are used for on use items like some helms, rings, trinkets will be on use so will be included into the macro automatically to be used when available.

If left as silver, it will be ignored, if you click it it will be made gold which then means it’s active and will be used and so that adds the line to the macro as =true. Then you click it again and it will clear the check and add in the =false. To me personally it’s better kept as silver and makes the macro look cleaner. No point in unchecking it.

There are other options within the GSE options where you can turn these on/active for global settings which will then override the local settings i mentioned above.

All thanks for the dev team go to TimothyLuke as he does this all on his own. We just abuse the tool and make macros from it

is it not supposed to work on live? j/w because i tried it and it did not work.

[quote quote=59534]In an effort to keep many up and running as quick as possible, I’ve been working on some quick start macros on as many classes as I can.
I don’t expect these to be optimal yet just to get things going from the Launch of BFA, they all work for me feel free to try and leave feedback, although I don’t intend to change anything until live or if they change a class drastically. I don’t mind you using these as a foundation for your own macro just some praise ???
the new GSE uses a code string now for ease of importing, these are all tested using boosted 110s in Zulazar no leggos and bottom barrel gear so may perform better

why i see macro like this ?

John, this is a OPENER Macro that was working in the previous version of GS but now it seems like it does not go through the “premacro” and for the life of me I cant figure out why.

Its not much different from your own beta macro but this was just a OPENER I was using b4 using the Vancleef/Uncrowned macros. Can you take a look if you have time?

Well, it seems I don’t know how to paste in the raw exported code, selecting “code” does not seem to do it :frowning: when it rains it pours.

Ok, so I need to hit “code” past and hit “code” again, got it!

so does this updated one work Pete??

john how do you convert macros into the new code string bfa GSE uses?

John, no, still does not seem to want go through the premacro’s (just figured out how to properly post the export), hits the "sequence /run command but does not do the premacro. I tried everything I can think of, even removed the “Vanish”. So at this point I’m baffled as to why it does not work.

In reality, its not much different then your Beta macro except you are using the sequence portion of the macro and not so much the premacro.

So, if you have time, can you load it and see if it works for you?

Thanks,
Pete
