Cym's Frost DK for 7.2

I have re-posted this macro but without Howling Blast. It’s the ONLY thing that has been removed.

From numerous macro testing of multiple macros, not just mine, it would appear that having HB in a macro is actually a large DPS loss, up to 30k DPS and over 10 million damage in 5 mins testing.

I have also discussed this a little with John Metz too.

You can spam this at around 140ms and it should be sufficient to hit all the Oblit procs and more. I also keep HB on a separate button, just from the spellbook as there is no need to macro it. It have this on a fast keybind to try and hit all the Rime procs when they appear. That’s all you need to do is spam this macro and hit Rime procs.

Now, this does and doesn’t increase your survival rate when using the macro. It will in the sense you can kill things quicker, but won’t in the same sense that the macro itself has nothing added.

If you want defensives then hit those as and when needed. The macro is never going to be smart enough to know you’re taking damage to then use AMS and IBF

Same with healing. Look out for those Dark Succor procs when you kill something and use Death Strike when it procs, it’s on the GCD but it’s free so it’s not like you won’t have enough energy.

If you need healing in those “Oh shit” moments, pop IBF/AMS and hit Death Strike but, it’s not going to help much as Dark Succor adds 100% to the health gained. There is a reason this is not also added into the macro, it costs 45 energy to use and doesn’t add enough damage to warrant it. It’s just too costly. If you want healing as you play, go Blood!

Will take it 4 a spin tomorrow in NH hc…BTW your macro style is it for a particular duration of a fight?

They are based for a longer fight yes as not every cooldown will be ready again if i shorten it so i try to go as long as possible to keep the fight going.

They are not all set in stone though

The only thing is I might take out Sindy’s fury eventhough I got the legs for the 2 mins CD duration depending of how fast we clear trash between bosses it might not be so handy that it’s on CD when we pull boss

A quick question on the Haste - speed ratio

you currently have 12% playing on 1360 …I have 35% so that would roughly put me at around 460?

I’m playing razer synapse so that would make it 0.46 seconds delay?

Had AHK but decided a keyboard was better…as people tell me that it’s hack sensitive…

No, you can never go faster than 1000ms or 1s due to GCD. To get to 1s GCD (1500 without haste) You’d need to hit close to 50% haste, probably not impossible but maybe not viable for the class.

I use an addon called DejaCharacterStats: https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/dejacharacterstats

This shows me what my chars GCD is, currently 1.36s so i adjust my timings to match +0.010ms to account for variation since Synapase/Logitech/AFK is never truely what you set the delay to

Also i am using the Spellqueue at 400ms so i can queue up the next ability so if a spell is still on cooldown and has around half a second to go it will queue up. It’s not always perfect though

AHK depending on how it’s scripted is not really hack sensitive, what human could send the key through keyboard hardware at 80ms each keypress?

There are certain grey areas with it but no more that using Synapse to press 2 or more keys at certain times

Anybody test it yet? Curious what people think.

Best thing is to try them out yourself and see how they perform. Some macros work for others very well where others they feel are not adequate enough.

Does great but no damage regen so you die quickly

I do tend to leave Death Strike out. A macro will never know when you will need healing so it’s not always good to leave it in, it’s a waste of 45 runic power unless you have recently killed something and it then procs for free.

I always think healing is a judgement call. Macro does everything else

Death Strike would be for Heals… before spamming Death Strike… Pop Ice Bound Fortitude… Then start spamming your Death Strike… you should practically full heal… Unless the target dodges…shells…or miss… this is one of the biggest headaches we DK’s have had this Expansion Lack of Heals <Cough> and mobility…and a list a mile long of other complaints…

So i have made a rework of this macro which has increased the DPS of the macro by around 80% but it’s removed it from being a 1 button macro to 1 button + proc. By doing this and increasing the speed of the macro it’s increased the damage dramatically.

There will still be no option to add in Death Strike but it’s situational and should only really be used when it procs from Dark Succor for the 100% heal other wise it’s a DPS loss for only a 20% heal to damage received in 5 seconds…

I will repost it over the next few days once i have tested it more

Hi trying to Import your updated macro in to GSE 2.1.01 right now all that is happening is the Import successful is coming up but its not adding it to the list. Any help would be appreciated to either Manually copy it in or help getting it imported via the automated way would be great many thanks in advance Mal

If it’s not being added into GSE as a blue book, you should have an error appearing in chat window, there should be no issues in being able to import it.
