Shout Outs!
-Huge thanks to Zen Jamin for leading me over to Arms and inspiring ideas on how to run it!

Greetings!

So I gave Arms Warrior a whirl and I’m impressed! Think I’ll be playing them a bit more now. Granted they seem slow, but truly make up for it in massive damage. I’m going to try it out in the wild now, but on a dummy this was shocking. Any feedback and suggestions would be much appreciated as I get to learn the Arms rotation further!

-Update Logs-

Original Macro - Version 4, 9/6/2018 - Talents 2131232
*Update 1, 8/29/18 - Victory Rush moved up to the 3rd line for better consistency.
*Update 2, 9/1/18 - A lot of fine tuning so far, but its at a lot smoother of a point now. At present it does a great job of keeping Deep Wounds & Rend on a target while not overusing abilities that apply them.
*Update 3, 9/4/18 - Switched last talent line from Dreadnaught to Anger Management. A lot more functionality to be offered by having Warbreaker & Bladestorm coming off of cooldown faster.
*Update 4, 9/6/18 - Reworked the macro and believe I’ve found a great pace for it now! Warbreaker, Bladestorm, & Sweeping Strikes are now on mods. Adjusted the AHK pace, try dialing in between 60ms-55ms.

Hi!

I tested and I really liked your macro for fury. Regarding this one, why did you choose these talents? According to icy veins these are not the most optimized.

Hey Powfen!

Thanks and glad you liked the Fury macro, I think that’s still my favorite!
As for this one, I’ll consult icy-veins again as I’m still working on it. Are you referring to the talents listed here: Arms Warrior DPS Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.0.5 - World of Warcraft - Icy Veins ? Currently I’m playing around with Deadly Calm as a means to get some free abilities off quickly when you charge in and Dreadnaught for keeping Overpower basically spamming so Mortal Strike gets the stack bonus when it triggers! At present Fury generation is building/spending at a good pace as well.
I’ll update the OP macro to where I’m at now as its close. As always any suggestions are appreciated! I’m at the point where its nearly there and keeping Rend plus Deep Wounds active as it generates/spends fury while not stalling out!

Actually I’m using the talents 3,1,3,3,2,1,1. With these I got the best results.

I tried to create a simple macro using these talents and get a bit more dps than yours. The problem is that in my lock from time to time and does not run smoothly like yours, mainly by the use of whirlwind that ends up spending a lot of fury.

What process do you use to draw the castsequence lines?

Im going to look at this more tomorrow! I just noticed you jumped in here and did Arms.

The reason I like Arms is though it can be/feel clunky the … hits just feel visceral and in PvP its ridiculous. The dmg output tends to also be greater than Fury especially after Warbreaker and Bladestorm. But with that tradeoff imo is the sustain Health wise. Unless you do Impending Victory but lose your movement.

I am at 343 iLvL with Test of Might on my shoulders

Ive been playing around with Warbreaker/Avatar/Dreadnaught for PvP but I think the talents you listed work fine.

Ok I couldnt help myself and tried it out. Here are some tweaks you might want to try and let me know:
Talents: 223?211

  • Impending Victory is really for a bit of sustain but you can change it out for storm bolt or Double time depending.
  • Massacre might give you a bit more rage return? but Rend is nice and seems to be used by a lot.
  • I tried In For the Kill and Anger Management for max bladestorm pooling and Smash uptime

-I added another first line for Colossus Smash (not sure if I needed that.
-I also deleted one of the overpowers since I went for Anger management. I am not sure if that was required or if it would hang up and wait, and hold up the Rend? Maybe not.
-I took out sweeping strikes and added Slam and Post Macro Slam
-So far now I took out Sharpen Blade (I usually make a second configuration for PvP) and replaced Pre Macro with Colossus… seems to hit it more.

Testing @ Raider’s Training Dummy in Boralus, I peaked at 8.2 k and averaged 7.7k dps

[23:55] Skada: Skada: Zythane’s Damage for Raider’s Training Dummy (9): 23:37 (10 Min 8 Sec):
[23:55] Skada: [Deep Wounds] 1.05M (22.1%)
[23:55] Skada: [Auto Attack] 651.2K (13.7%)
[23:55] Skada: [Mortal Strike] 563.8K (11.9%)
[23:55] Skada: [Rend] 531.9K (11.2%)
[23:55] Skada: [Overpower] 381.5K (8.0%)
[23:55] Skada: [Bladestorm] 273.3K (5.8%)
[23:55] Skada: [Slam] 272.4K (5.7%)
[23:55] Skada: [Warbreaker] 268.4K (5.7%)
[23:55] Skada: [Execute] 255.7K (5.4%)
[23:55] Skada: [Fathom Fall] 229.9K (4.8%)
[23:55] Skada: [Thunderous Blast] 223.1K (4.7%)
[23:55] Skada: [Impending Victory] 40.5K (0.9%)
[23:55] Skada: [Charge] 578 (0.0%)

Conclusion: Still get rage starved quite a bit so youre kind of stuck for a bit which is what makes it feel more clunky. I might be missing something as I am bit new to warriors but generally. The lowered CDs with bladestorm and the warbreaker with the In For The Kill Haste I think works well but I would like to know what you think!

I am set @ 50ms on repeat (holding down button) with Logitech G502.

How about three traits of head, shoulders and chest?

Hey Powfen, that’s interesting. Well if your getting better DPS with those talents definitely run with it. At present with those talents I sim just a hair less. I switched it around a bit though and think Anger Management along with Deadly Calm is the way to go. Its a lot more functional for spamming if that’s a way to consider it while adjusting macros.
What do you mean by process to draw castsequence lines? Not sure what you mean, if you mean how do I go about putting them together, I just run off of how they play I guess.

Thanks Zen Jamin for giving it a go and your feedback! Thats what I’ve been noticing as well is how much big damage arms can put out, which is sweet!
For testing purposes I was giving Impending Victory a go to make sure the main sequence was firing right. As you mentioned its great for sustaining. I switch it off when doing instances.
As for the last two talent line choices, they are all siming close to each other on my character. I did end up changing the last talent from Dreadnaught to Anger Management. With the current macro and the change in to Anger Management I’m coming really close to what I’m siming. I’m guessing my haste proc trinkets, gear, and Azerite buff selection (Swirling Sands & Blood Rite) have something to do with that. When I get a chance to play around with Test of Might on some Azerite Gear I’ll check to see if that switches things up.
Its sounds like you went through and added a bit. My only hesitation with that would be you may prematurely rage starve yourself before getting one of the DOT abilities out. I guess that would be one of the constraints you have to consider due to the lack of rage generation and I’m hoping to work out a good flow with that in mind! =D It still looks like your getting good DPS output though.

Hi zjmcoom, I have Blood Rite, Swirling Sands, & Gathering Storm currently selected.

I still have to learn to Sim, this is a bit new since I came back to WoW and noticed. I will import or figure out how to import so you can take a look. I definitely rage starve myself but I do not know what to do when that happens haha.

Will also update my 3 traits as well. Currently I do both PvE and PvP and I find that Arms (especially in the context of PvP) is a bit burstier and the mortal strike helps. Fury maintains pressure but its hard to eat through a healer in a perfect world.

Is there a need? to have a seperate tab (2?) for PvP on Fury/Arms/Prot you think?

Sidenote I went and used your prot for PvP; was a lot of fun! haha

Edit: Rend uptime seemed ok. I do not know how the timing of it works in regards to GSE, Icy says refresh @ 4 seconds left? but for the most part the uptime was consistent. I will edit this post with what I was using.

Edit2: The import

Hey Zen Jamin!

https://www.askmrrobot.com/ is one of the sims which is very straightforward to setup and dig into. The other is Raidbots - Optimize Your WoW Characters which is also easy to get into! Use both to compare and cross check results.

I’ve been absorbed in my Fury macro the last few days or I would have replied sooner. I haven’t had a chance to test your variation of the Arms macro, but I did look it over. I dont think you need two lines of Warbreaker since if the macro is set to priority then it will be overspaming it while its on cooldown.

I did notice when running the OP in heroics that on some occasions when Deadly Calm is active or when you have an abundance of Rage from a Execute going off it may skip Warbreaker if off c/d. The good news is even with those hiccups I was still topping the DPS for the party =P I am hoping to fine tune that so it’s not an issue.

I think my next step with this macro will be to have Warbreaker moved to the Alt mod and see how incorporating Bladestorm into the main sequence works. That way you have more control of the debuff Warbreaker applies and can trigger it in accordance to Bladestorm coming off cooldown, that will be handy if you have Test of Might talented.

As for a PVP tab, if your an active PVP’r then I would say its useful as GSE auto-detects when entering BG’s and switches to the tab you’ve indicated on the PVP option (Below the Helpful Information in the Macros main tab). I’m not sure if War Mode is tracked in the PVP selection, I threw the question out on Discord to find out. Thanks for the feedback on Prot in PvP, glad it holds up!!

Stay tuned!

May i ask are these macros for Raiding and PVP or more Dungeons and questing? New to these so sorry in advance

I’m not sure how viable they are for raids yet, but they are most suited to try getting the most DPS out of a spec. This Arms one is a work in progress still. Currently optimizing Fury & play testing!

Hi, just found this mod and holy crap this is what I’ve always wanted.

However, one thing is I don’t think you listed anywhere what talents you’re using under the current macro set up, unless I missed them?

Thanks for making these and fine tuning them!

Hi Setari M,
Glad to have ya and welcome!

The talents for the macro are on the configuration tab listed within the macro. The OP macro was configured with 2132232. The variations of talents being considered are; 2132232, 2132211, & 2132231. I’m hoping to get some more time into the Arms macro this week.

Currently I’m still dialing in which talents work best for Arms with the idea of trying to have it pace itself smoothly, while not feeling too clunky, and staying at high DPS outputs. Stay tuned!

I’m a disabled veteran and my hands are all messed up, I love playing wow when it first came out and this gives me the chance to play the game and not drag a group behind. thanks a lot for doing this.

ı dont saw macros codes. codes like C01faGjsIrrjvofqcVIeywa1TasXUGQ6xcAyOGJrWYe4zeX0KW1iH2gq8nc14GQCoOIwhujVdQq)JqshefAHOOhsIAIsu2ijYhPKQgPevNKqQvss6LqfmtOsDtkj7eGFcKKHIewQePNsXujP2kLu(kqQElsQ7IeTxP(lqsnyvhgYIjepwstgPUmvBMs5ZuIrdOtl0Qbs0RjbnBOCBuA3K63igor64selhvph00fDDIA7es8DKKZtPA9aP0(vUfA1naH2WyPwza1wpOhaW0acA1TPChtkwuRW2amtPqCfgsfHkmeO1olQYjq8Re2qBeUmlmmjsJ1q6iebtNln6vpSnQryUoHTjqqIOgijOnL7ysBtPYADuBzhL7kYalCNMqLEVGbw4US0PkJy5olHEpc3HEUNKDMyiAhMeo this

So I ran a version of this; I opted for Massacre instead of Rend, and Skullsplitter. Currently I was close to 10k in raid but it manually hangs up on Slams (even with Rage) which is blah.

Fury doesnt scale well until 380 iLvL so im going to be trying to work on this a bit more

Hey Guys! Glenn thanks for the macros! i use your prot and is awesome!! Zen could u post the one you edit please and the Ms speed!! Thank you for all the time you guys keep putting in on this

Hi Rod, thank you for your service fellow battle! I’m honored to hear this macro is helping you out!

Hey Warmiyor,
With a past GSE update the Macro is now exported as code and when you import it through GSE is will reconvert it into a readable macro.

Hey Zen Jamin!
Yeah I’m still playing around with this and think I’ve noticed its very gear dependent as well like you mentioned. From using AskMrRobot they have a gear optimizer and I was using the suggested builds. I’m gonna play around with it now with my fury gear on, Haste/Crit vs suggested Crit/Mastery, as I would love to see Arms just steam rolling everything lol =P

The Macro is good but the problem what i see is he he uses too little mortal strike

Hey Mr Paranoyd,

Thanks! I just finished reworking the macro and I think I solved that so check out the latest version.

Hi Mr. Dexz,
Didn’t catch your post earlier, but thanks and your welcome!

OP is now updated.
I noticed that the hangup in some of the DPS numbers was caused by Sweeping Strikes since its on a GCD. It was throwing off the whole rhythm because it was trying to stay on c/d. It is essential for AOE at times, so its been moved to the Shift mod. Additionally Warbreaker has been set to the Alt mod & Bladestorm on the Ctrl Mod. I found having these abilities on manual cast lets you capitalize on the situation and flow of things. Talents have been moved back to 2132232. I really wanted to work with Anger Management, but it was messing with the flow to much imo for how I’m trying to keep this macro running smooth. Please give this iteration a try and I hope you all enjoy!

One thing I forgot to mention is you can swap out Rend in the main sequence for Whirlwind if you’d like to use Massacre. That should keep the flow equal. Zen Jamin inspired that idea!
