Why the auto growl? I didn’t last 5 minutes in a dungeon before they booted me? Does the line for turning it off in a group not work anymore?
/petautocastoff [group] Growl

@Trigg
Are you sure you were booted because of growl? They could have booted you just because. You can test the growl on off and see if the macro doesn’t do that.
I am guessing it was a time walking dungeon. When Investigating the issue I discovered a bug in the addon. When I tried to key Time Walking to MacroVersion 2, which turns off grow, it kept changing it MacroVersions 1, which turns it on. Until it can be fixed I am going back to the old tried and true:
/petautocastoff [group] Growl
/petautocaston [nogroup] Growl
It was without doubt because of growl. I even tried manually turning it off, but it would just turn back on when I used the macro. The fact that the tank said in all caps PET TAUNT 3 times before I was kicked leaves no doubt as to why and frankly I don’t blame him. After that I just removed the line from the macro, but I was curious as to why it was a thing to begin with.
Well this is embarrassing, but I gotta own it. I actually had a different macro bound which didn’t have the line of code to turn pet growl off… sigh my bad
I just found out that the grow autocast off is no longer needed for dungeon:

Battle for Azeroth Hunter Pet Guide
A guide to all of the changes to Hunter pets in Battle for Azeroth, including new pet families and abilities, and changes to pet specializations.
“When you enter a dungeon, Growl’s auto-cast is automatically turned off to avoid pulling aggro from the tank (you can turn it back on if you want). When you leave the dungeon, it gets flipped back on automatically.”
So I will be removing it totally from the dungeon part of the macro.

Ty for doing that Sir_Ewing as i just had it happen to me but i didn’t get kick as the tank understood and finally said it was actually helping out a little bit lol but still i don’t think i need it unless i’m questing btw it’s working great ty for making it
hello, great contribution
I have a doubt, this:
Default: 1
Raid 2
PVP 3
Dungeon 2
Heroic 2
Mythic 2
Do you have to touch something to activate it? or is it automatically activated when entering a raid, dungeon, etc etc?
Automatically activated when GSE detects that you have zoned or flagged.
Does the macro work for the current beta? I tried to import it and I could not
to answer your question yes it does but you need to upgrade the one you have to the GSE Beta 12 I believe you can find it here and this link was copy and pasted from Timothy Luke’s post above yours

thxs!
Any way to make the single target one use more focus? I’m staying near full all the time and it seems like I could be doing more dps if I were spending more energy.
You could try adding an additional Cobra Shot to the post macro. However I personally just manually add more Cobra Shots as needed. Remember Cobra Shot, and some other abilities, requires a minimum amount of focus, to fire off. If too many Cobra Shots are added to the macro, it is too easily to run out or not have enough focus for the macro to work right.
Have you played with Chimaera Shot yet?
With current build, that seems to be the best level 30 talent, and once Animal Companion is properly fixed (ie: given the correct avoidance), that might be the better option in the level 15 talents (especially given how Dire Beast fails at stomp a significant amount of the time right now).
I have been doing more DPS with Chimaera Shot, but having problems working it into my macro, while keeping 3 stacks of Barbed Shot up as much as possible.
I will most likely change things up a bit once bfA goes live, and hopefully Animal Companion has been fixed. It didn’t work at all for the longest time at the start of beta. As for Chimaera Shot, I have never really trusted it, since bad experiences with it in Legion’s beta.
Are you spamming the key or pressing it as needed?
Ok, look at this I’ve got a question:
Shouldn’t “/cast Bestial Wrath” be move up? Meaning should the code be changed:
Current: PreMacro
“/cast Aspect of the Wild”,
“/cast A Murder of Crows”,
“/cast Dire Beast”,
“/cast Intimidation”,
Modified: PreMacro
“/cast Aspect of the Wild”,
“/cast A Murder of Crows”,
“/cast Dire Beast”,
“/cast Bestial Wrath”,
“/cast Intimidation”,
Current: [Macro’s Body] - I’m not repeating all the macro version just the 1st
“/cast Kill Command”,
“/cast Barbed Shot”,
“/castsequence Cobra Shot, Kill Command, Cobra Shot, Intimidation”,
“/cast Kill Command”,
“/cast A Murder of Crows”,
“/cast Intimidation”,
“/cast Dire Beast”,
“/cast Barbed Shot”,
“/cast Bestial Wrath”,
“/cast Kill Command”,
“/castsequence Cobra Shot, Kill Command, Cobra Shot, Intimidation”,
Modified: [Macro’s Body]
“/cast Kill Command”,
“/cast Barbed Shot”,
“/castsequence Cobra Shot, Kill Command, Cobra Shot, Intimidation”,
“/cast Kill Command”,
“/cast A Murder of Crows”,
“/cast Intimidation”,
“/cast Dire Beast”,
“/cast Bestial Wrath”,
“/cast Barbed Shot”,
“/cast Kill Command”,
“/castsequence Cobra Shot, Kill Command, Cobra Shot, Intimidation”,
Current: KeyRelease
“/cast Dire Beast”,
“/cast Aspect of the Wild”,
“/cast A Murder of Crows”,
“/cast Intimidation”,
Modified: KeyRelease
“/cast Dire Beast”,
“/cast Aspect of the Wild”,
“/cast A Murder of Crows”,
“/cast Bestial Wrath”,
“/cast Intimidation”,
This change should keep “Bestial Wrath” up as often as possible, plus allow for the overlap of “A Murder of Crows” and “Dire Beast” to stack the 5% Haste buff. Is that right or am I mistaken?
Also, I noticed you have the 3 macros setup as:
Default=1,
Raid=2,
PVP=3,
Dungeon=2,
Heroic=2,
Mythic=2,
Arena=3,
Now MacroVersions 1 and MacroVersions 2 seem correct with:
MacroVersions 1
KeyPress
“/cast [nopet,nodead] Call Pet 1”,
“/cast [combat,pet:Spirit Beast,@player] Spirit Mend”,
“/cast [target=focus, exists, nodead],[target=pet, exists, nodead] Misdirection”,
MacroVersions 2
KeyPress
“/cast [nopet,nodead] Call Pet 1”,
“/cast [combat,pet:Spirit Beast,@player] Spirit Mend”,
But MacroVersions 3, has:
MacroVersions 3
KeyPress
“/cast [nopet,nodead] Call Pet 1”,
“/cast [combat,pet:Spirit Beast,@player] Spirit Mend”,
“/petautocastoff [group] Growl”,
“/petautocaston [nogroup] Growl”,
“/cast [target=focus, exists, nodead],[target=pet, exists, nodead] Misdirection”,
What’s the reason for having:
“/petautocastoff [group] Growl”,
“/petautocaston [nogroup] Growl”,
since MacroVersions 3 is for PvP, and players can just ignore Growl? This seems just a little odd. Now I guess there would be the odd duel … where you are fighting another player, that has a active pet out and you want to kill ONLY the pet - which is weird, in PvP.
I have moved these 2 macros and updated them to My 8.01 macros - Patch 8.0+ - WoW Lazy Macros
So that all of my current 8.01 macro can be in one place. Please check them out and comment there.
I have now deleted them from this thread, to prevent confusion. As they contained old early beta Coding that no longer apply or work.
