I’ve actually never played a Blood DK, for some reason it just never caught my attention.

I think I’ll have a play around with one tomorrow and see how I like the class and also your sequence. I’ll make sure to provide you with some feedback

much appreciated, I’m actually having fun with how Blood DK play along the keys, did not touch any 12’s or higher, I’m sticking to the 10’s until I have at least a pair of decent trinkets

It is A LOT of fun!, the wife is my pocket healer and gets upset with not having to ever heal me XD. This is a great sequence!

Right time to give this a try! I’ve wasted near 2 hours trying to get into a +16 key for my Hunter (spamming all groups btw), so time to get a DK made, level it up and see how the sequence goes

At level 20 (well, 21 now), there isn’t much going on with the rotation outside of the SBA. The only thing that made me stop and think was the use of Vampiric Blood. It’s one of the major cooldowns that should really be saved for boss fights, but SBA keeps cycling it automatically. I’m assuming that’s just how SBA works, but I haven’t checked the actual sequence yet. I should probably do that, because I’d prefer to press it manually.

At this level I wouldn’t say I’m bored, but I’m definitely waiting for things to get more exciting. I’ll keep pushing through, because I’m not sitting in a queue for several hours just to get a +16 run on my hunter. Hopefully things will get more interesting once more talents unlock and the class starts to feel more complete.

You really need to hit the 1st sweet spot, that is around 260 ilvl with no blues and 4 set piece. That is when the fun begins. The SBA is there to mostly work around DnD, DStk and Blood Shield procs. If you are to control that manually, the ideia of a sequence is mostly lost.

Due to SBA, also, Vampiric Blood and Dance Rune Weapon starts to fire-off most frequently, this is literally not a bad thing at all, you’ll see that letting SBA doing it’s thing and triggering VB and DRW will place you in a spot that you don’t die. At least you won’t die easily as most blood dk’s rookies.

And for myself, Deathbringer hero talent is the most fun due to healing and defensive potential, San’layn can work with my sequence as well, but I’d find myself always under huge stress on pulls, not my idea of fun. So, pick your poison there =)

yeah from what I’ve looked at Deathbringer is for M+ and San’Layn is for raiding.

Does the SBA in the sequence also give you the dmg penalty even if its just a singel line in the macro just as if you use it when put on the bar ? any idea  i know dps is not all in the world but sure helps with speeding things up when running on a killing spee like in ritual sites and prey and delves and so on  trying to find out so had to check if you knew .. love your shm macros .. totally helped me enjoy it again with that class. and thx for all macros you provide that helps us with issues in hands and whatnot

usually not, as it is not the main core there, I’m hitting around 60k overall on some dungeons and peeking 200k on burst when big pulling. As a tank, I don’t really care about the dps output as we go, I just want to stay alive lol.

I’m really glad that I can help people out, that is really one of my main gols.

for reference

Quick feedback, just began testing this macro tonight. Definitely seems solid; so far it doesn’t seem to pool too much runic power but also allows some at times to be used for manual Death Strikes if necessary. Only block I removed was the Vampiric Blood one; I like to control CDs like those myself.

Feel free to personalize as you see fit mate, the way I like to play is to have it all dealt by the sequence, leaving only situational usages for modifiers.

Let me know how it went for you, also, to have fulll control over Vampiric Blood you may want to remove the SBA block as well. If you do so, replace it with a castsequence for Death’s Caress/Death Strike or /Blood Boil.

SBA does not activate Vampiric Blood so it’s good staying in the sequence.

is tthere any flaw with using SBA by DK? damage loss or healing loss?

When it comes to the flaws in the single button assistant for a DK, I honestly do not know. There were posts giving examples of 100 percent manual performance versus whatever percentage the single button assistant reaches, with reductions of around 10 to 20 percent depending on the class. It is difficult to pin down because this sequence is not built solely around the assistant. There are other skills in the rotation, and from what I can see, the assistant is only used to fill in whatever ability is available at that moment. It is not just pressing one button to rotate two skills and then handing everything over to the assistant. If you look at the sequence, that is clear.

Most creators and users already understand that a sequence will never reach 100 percent of what a top player can achieve. You should look at the mid range of actual performance, such as the 50 percent percentile on Raider IO or whatever resource you use, and base your expectations on that. If you are performing above that middle range, that is great. The higher you get, the better, but you should never expect a sequence to deliver the perfect rotation or match the best players. That is simply not possible with sequences.

If it ever did match top level manual play, Blizzard would almost certainly restrict access to the add on. The intention is to help people play more smoothly, not to create perfect automation, and as long as people keep that in mind, these tools can continue to fit within acceptable limits.

SBA’ll never be a flaw tbh, it is there mostly to use procs of DnD and others, it is really helping in the end, you can check warcraft log posted.

I’m now geared enough to get through 12’s and so far it has been a blast of fun and of course the lil’heartattacks are kinda lol for me atm.

Other than that, the rotation is flowing smoothly enough to get you tanking with Blood DK, but if you do care about parses I’m affraid you wont be able to performe like a top player using my sequences, I’m not configuring it to do so, my goal is to function well enough so you play and get the job done. Aiming keys about 15 is my golden moment when creating stuff here.

All right, so here is a little update. I am level 81 at the moment, and I would say the sequence really starts to work well around level 50. That is when you unlock the majority of the talents, and everything begins to come together. From that point on, you can actually feel the build doing its job.

I am level 81 now, and from level 50 to where I am, you basically do not have to worry about anything because you just do not die. In dungeons I was pulling 10 to 20+ mobs, stacking them all up with the grasp ability, and just sitting there letting them go to town. Your health never drops too low because it shoots right back up. You look at the healing meter and you are doing 400k to 500k healing while the healer is at 150k, and you just think, ā€œAll right, okay.ā€

Of course, this will be very different once I get to level 90, get actual gear, and content starts getting more difficult. I am looking forward to reaching 90, getting into Mythic Plus dungeons, and seeing how it goes. After that I want to get a sequence working for raiding and see how that performs as well.

So far, so good.

thank you both for your kind reply.

I asked because DK unlike the other tanks is dependent on runes/timed spells and if not used correctly it could mean death and find DK harder to pull AEO aggro as well.

I tried it for 3 mythic+ (key 10) did not need healing most of the time.

Hi there mate, the rune consumption was my first concern, and yes the sequence does work just fine managing that.

10’s are super easy with my sequence, was able to run most of it just fine, but the real deal breaker with Blood DK’s are gear, you need the gear upgraded to go over 10’s using GSE’s sequences. I’m starting doing 12’s this week with more gear from bonus roll, which was a quick pump on gearing.

so far, so fun
