Celbone's Blood DK Midnight Season 2 ready - San'Layn Updated 19.08.26

well, there is no particular way to stock up runic power using a sequence, well, not a way that would not make your BDK vunerable at certain point. The sequence is built to ramp up a bit, consume it with runes and get growing from there. It does set 2 or 3 small windows with “extra” runic power, but that is for emergency death strikes imo.

you sure can, the modifier alt is already there for Death strike, it’s a matter of removing if from the blocks and trying to adjust the sequence rotation timeline.

Oh I dint plan on it I made a so far decent arms macro but between your Blood DK ones which would you recommend for a new player when it comes to tank

I’m a huge fan of Deathbringer, for me it’s the most tuff tank BDK spec. San’Layn is the new meta now, I does punch a pack in the face as it also heals a ton, but yet again, for me the feeling is as Deathbringer “I’m pulling more and more” versus San’Layn “I’m healing like a healer, am I alone?”

So, really up to you how you like things out, the diff is really about how much dps output you’ll have. San’Layn is the pick if you want to have more dps overall with healing.

ok sweet thanks for the info they seem to wokr great man good job =] and thanks for the work i know how much time can go into this

Anyone getting good parses with this? Just ran a Murder Row +10, seems to be parsing low.

you probably getting low parses because my sequence is less “dps” oriented. San’Layn is a “strong” tanking dps hero talent, that boost BDK skills for more healing and damage. The rotation inside the sequence will give your survaviability and aggro, but not that much dps

@celbone Ahh, that makes sense. The sequence does reflect that way as far as the dps goes. I am curious about the healing though. My healing parses seem to be pretty low as well. Any thoughts?

you probably not getting that much hit, the healing parse is directly linked to how much damage you take, overhealing is probably high.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to trigger a cast sequence using a mod?

I’d like to swap the AOE Grip for HS, HS, DS if I have a Boiling Point proc.

yes, it is totally possible, 'tho you probably want this on a macro instead of a sequence block.

you can also create a macro and add it to a block, just like:

MACRONAME: mymacrodps

#showtooltip
/castsequence [mod:lalt, combat, nochanneling] Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Death Strike]

Sequence Block

MYMACRODPS

save the sequence and let it cook, every time it rotate you’ll have a chance to get that together with your actions

Thanks for the great idea :+1:

But I can’t seem to get it to work
I think it’s casting the block now all the time, even when I don’t press ctrl, and it’s also hard to find the right position for the block…

I think I’ll just pause the sequence and do the 3 casts manually

forgot about letting GSE manage the Macro, in-game you’ll see the macros tab, it’ll show all your macros, open the one you edited and mark the option to let GSE manage the macro, there are also other small options of customization on that same screen. Maybe that will help. If you want, share your sequence here and I can take a look at it

finding the right position for every single block is the key to have the GSE sequence working great, I know the feeling of having to change it all the time and all the ways possible. Believe me, there are no other ways to do it.

Hmm, I just can’t get it to work with the mod key.

Take a look if you like :innocent:

aye, I see what you doing.

Instead of a macro, try to add this line on both blocks you have the macro on

/castsequence [mod] reset=target Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Death Strike

It’ll fire the castsequence with whatever modifier you holding and’ll keep firing it as long as you hold the modifier you first use to trigger it, of course if you have those skills available as well. This way you can make sure to fire it whenever using other modifiers.

remember to mark repeat checkbox and add it 2 times repeat.

or this line, if you want a direct and single modifier to work with it

/castsequence [mod:ctrl] reset=target Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Death Strike

PS.: I don’t know why, but GSE testing is showing Heart Strike as Rune Strike, but I guess this is just the online tool being an online tool.

Just for your testing @xpaiintz

Thanks for your help!

But I just thought of a much simpler solution.. I’ll just try setting up HS as ctrl mod since we already have DS on alt anyway.. and there’s always an immediate response to the DS mod

The problem with this proc is that you have to press it within like 3 seconds.. otherwise the free Blood Boil won’t trigger.

Just one more question, then I’ll carry on experimenting:

Does it make sense to remove the “nochanneling” from the “/castsequence” in your original so that the sequence can be interrupted? At least, that’s how I understand it

howdy, all good there, you can set the ctrl as you want.

nochanneling is more of a default “personal” thing I always add. You never know if a new trinket with a cast would be there for BiS or mechanic…it’s just safety measures.

could we get a version a little more dps orientated? Fyi you have made the best ones for Dk I have used!

So, the sequence is actually very, very good; I’m getting 100% sim on the five dummies.

hello there mate, well, I can try. Still not playing wow these days so the sequence is actually tested by you guys. To make one more DPS oriented, I’ll need to be playing and getting as much logs I can to figure out the proper dps boost spot and structure. Getting a more defensive one is actually easier to create, as I just need to consider CDs and not that much thought about procs. Do you feel me?
