Certain macros stop working, requires delete and reimport

I’m only having this issue with one particular macro someone posted, so I’m thinking it might be something in there that breaks it…but I have a macro and I import it and it works fine but if I log out and back in, the macro doesn’t work. The button lights up when I press my key I have bound, but nothing else. I have to go into GSE and delete and reimport that macro then it works fine. Is there something in GSE settings that would cause this or help it not happen? I’ve asked in the thread posted of that particular macro but haven’t gotten much insight. I can always just reimport every single time I log in or switch toons, but it’s a big tedious and as I’m trying to learn more about GSE and how to navigate and work it, I’d like to see if this is something I could perhaps solve.

Edit: It is also seeming to happen when I manually reload.

Please post the macro here so others can take at look at it and hopefully solve the problem.

Sure. The macro is from here:

I apologize I do not know how to make them small and condensed into one line like when they’re in someone’s post.

Something in your UI is causing the GSE virtual button to break. Rather than deleting and reimporting you can just got to /gse and select the template and “Delete Icon” and then “Create Icon”.

One solution to prevent this is to make the OOC Queue (GSE’s options) polling speed run faster than its default 8 seconds.

Thank you so much! I wonder what in my UI is breaking it. I might disable everything then just re enable one by one to try to find it. I appreciate the help!

are you using a addon ui or the game default? if a addon one, which UI?

I’m using ElvUI for the majority of my UI changes, with a few plugins.

Elvui is a fickle lil ui, when used with GSE. some people have no issues, others get all kinds of issues. try to play with Elvui turned off and see if you get same issue. I use Elvui and dont have any issues at the moment. but i am lucky in my eyes on this.

Well I disabled ElvUI and unfortunately the problem still persists, and the delete icon and create icon doesn’t work, nor does changing the OOC polling speed. I’m at a loss at this point.

Disabling ElvUI is only half the fix. You need to revert all the behind the scenes changes ElvUI has made. (I can’t tell you what they all are as there are many and it depends on how you set up Elv or didn’t setup Elv as what you need to undo. I would Google how to reset your entire UI to stock and then add in only the mods you need.

I am pretty sure I figured out the issue. I went through curse forge and deleted addons I absolutely didn’t really “need”, but the only one I deleted that changed any part of the UI was “ExtraQuest Button”. I waited until today to make sure that was the case, but after multiple logs, computer restarts, game restarts, etc the macro is still working. So something in that addon (I believe that was it) was messing with that one particular macro. So hopefully this thread can help someone in the future with some ideas to try.
