Dots09 Unholy DK 11.0 The War Within

Hi, thanks for the macro. I’m using the ST version 2 and it will not use apocalypse while holding alt. All the other cooldowns fire off. Running at 250ms. Anyone have any thoughts?

is that key bound to something else or it could be a addon blocking.

I checked game and elvui keybinds and nothing is bound to alt. Raise abomination/dark transformation, unholy assault fired off like normal. Just doesn’t want to cast apocalypse. Also, right after making my first post I deleted the macro and re imported it and now alt won’t work at all for casting those spells. And the last line of the macro changed from whatever it was previously, cast scourge strike or w/e, to a garbled mess of letters and numbers. I didn’t edit anything.

Are you targeting the target with at least 1 Festering Wound stack? asking just incase, as it requires at least 1 festering wound stack to be usable.

A few other tests,

Make a blank Block in a new sequence &/or creating it as an ingame macro
/castsequence Raise Abomination, Unholy Assault, Dark Transformation, Apocalypse

Try putting this into a wow ingame macro see if it works, with ALT modifier. if not 100% some keybind somewhere causing issues.

Yup, mob has a wound and apocalypse is lit up and ready to be cast. I can click to cast it. Made a new sequence and same thing happened. Everything except apocalypse fired off instantly. I turned off all my addons except GSE and tried again with the same result. Searching for “Alt” in WoW’s settings brings up nothing bound using it. Also, why would just one spell not work when the other 3 spells in the macro work perfectly? Stumped.

EDIT: So I changed it to mod:shift just to test it and tried again and it still didn’t work. Shift is bound to many things through various WoW’s keybinds and addons such as Elvui and there seems to be no problem using it with macros. It’s just apocalypse will not fire off no matter what modifier it is bound to. Just to test, I created a macro that looks like this /castsequence [mod:alt] Raise Abomination, Dark Transformation and it works perfectly. It just won’t work with Apocalypse.

Ok final edit I promise. For anyone running into this kind of issue, it has to do with the weapon Apocalypse apparently. The game thinks you’re trying to /cast the weapon, not the spell. This thread on the forums gave a workaround. Write “!Apocalypse” with no quotation marks instead of just Apocalypse. The game will then cast the spell and ignore the weapon. Just tested it using a /castsequence [mod:alt] Raise Abomination, Unholy Assault, Dark Transformation, !Apocalypse and it worked flawlessly. Ha, how interesting good find, and glad you were able to solve it

I’ve changed mine to config number 2 but for some reason the alt modifier will not work! Works fine on other macros so its not a keybind issue.

When you say other macros, do you mean a wow ingame macro? if so you can copy the same cast sequence directly into a wow macro and test it out to see if it works.

other gse macros that use alt modifier, when i press alt they work. This locks up

Did you play in the legion era, and have the Apocalypse Weapon perhaps? there was an issue pointed out above about an issue with that.

Hey ! got a little problem. after like one pull it stops firing any cds Dark transfor´m , abomination apocalypse etc and wont fire ven when out of combat. any idea?

What sequence and version are you using?
Have you had this DK for a long time and during legion had the Legendary called Apocalypse?

Nope didn’t play legion

sorry using the m+ verision. and yes i have its from WOTLK !

So i tried changing alt to shift and i added !Apocalypse but it still won’t fire the castsequence, nothing happens till i release shift.

Try these steps

  1. Try download the sequence again
  2. Try to download it on another DK (if you have one) see if the same issue
  3. If no character I think the sequence got corrupted I would delete the GSE addon, and re-install see if the same issue

if we know ALT works with other sequences then issue with the GSE sequence maybe cached information most cases I see this they need to re-download GSE, or you can maybe ask on Discord for help they may know where the CACHE folders are for sequences so you don’t have to re-download the whole addon.

Maybe this applies to you?

im getting about half the dps you show in the video

That probably cuz the sequence was made specifically made for Dot. You will need to make adjustments so it works for you.
