Grizzly Hermit 5.2.1 Updated 9/20

GH AOE is the only macro updated on 10/1

This macro focuses on executing your core rotation (Thrash, Mangle, Swipe, Ironfur, Maul, Raze, Barkskin ) as perfectly as possible, while leaving you with as much control of your character as possible. This macro does not automatically use cooldowns, trinkets or similar abilities.

This is a modification to Oak’s bear macro.

In order to be able to cast Moonfire when you change targets you will also need to create an in game macro. Name it MOONSPAM (all caps.)

/castsequence [nomod, nochanneling] reset=target Moonfire, Null, Null

GH Off Tank

This macro is to be used primarily in raids when you are not actively tanking the boss as it doesn’t use any defensives. It can also be used in the open world where you want the highest amount of damage done without concern for your health.

Talents

This macro should work with all Elune’s Chosen builds, with that said here are the builds I use.

Single Target Build:

Preferred Build

I use this build only in raids and only for fights that have no add or cleave phases.

  • Mark of the Wild provides a ton of additional damage when stacked with pots and other cooldowns.
  • Rake and Feline swiftness can be dropped for Natural recovery and Innervate.

M+ Builds:

Preferred Build

This build focuses on passive physical mitigation while providing enough CD’s to roll against all the tank busters.

There are a ton of talents that are variable in the class tree.

You can drop Improved Stampeding roar for Incap roar or Typhoon.
You can drop Rake and Feline swiftness for Incap and Typhoon.
You can drop Natural recovery for Heart of the Wild.

There are several other variants but the build is really about the spec talents more than anything. I like the speed buff as I find it give me an extra global to gain threat and pugs are less inclined to pull for me.

Alternative Build

This is the build you will find on wowhead and other guides.

Guides and Game Play

Moonfire Mouseover

Moonfire mouseover macro

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead] Remove Corruption; [@mouseover,harm,nodead] [harm] Moonfire

While all of the macros allow for ctrl to be held to cast moonfire, some players may wish to instead use a different button altogether. The following macro is a standard macro that can be used with the games normal macro system. Just drop it on your bars and when you need to cast moonfire hover your mouse over the name plate of the mob you want to cast it on and use the macro. It can also be used to remove curses or poisons from friendly players by mousing over their name plates or their unit frames.

Lunar Beam

In higher keys you start to become prone to being one shot on pull as well as having threat issues. This macro helps alleviate that by casting Lunar Beam followed by Thrash. The only time it is to be used is on pull. If you use charge make sure you are in melee range before pressing as it will drop Lunar Beam on your way instead of on top of the pack.

Lunar Beam

/castsequence Lunar Beam, Thrash

Installation

In game open up GSE by typing /gse.

image

Click the clipboard icon on the macro you want to import

Click the import button

Paste the copied text in the box that pops up and click import.

Close the import pane and click on the keybinding setting in the main menu

Now set the key bind to the key you wish to use and on the right hand drop down menu select the macro to run on that keybind. This will unbind that key from any action bars. Click save and than close out all GSE menus and you should be ready to run the macro like normal. Just make sure to test on a dummy before attempting group content in case something goes wrong.

  • Anywhere between 80 to 150 ms spam speed will work great. I use it at 80 ms but this will change depending on haste.

Show change log v2.0.2
  • Added FR alt Mod
  • Removed nomod
Show change log v2.0.3
  • Changed to a priority loop to decrease the amount of block and increase thrash uptime.
Show change log v2.0.4

All versions now use modifiers.

  • Ctrl is Moonfire
  • Alt is Frenzied Regeneration
  • Shift is Incap Roar

Changed ST to the loop method.

While nocombat is a condition in the ST macro it doesn’t seem to work although it doesn’t seem to stall the macro out either. I’ll look into why in a future update.

Added an Off Tank macro.

Possible Future Changes

I shouldn’t need anymore space so feel free to post after this one.

Hi @Hermit. Got it up and running finally after watching @OAK youtube videos. I didn’t press the SAVE button so it wouldn’t come up on the drop down menu. Have used it on dummies and am doing the warbands quests and it works fine. Will be jumping into some M+ 8-10s after the servers come back up and will give you any feedback after I do a few. Might change a few talents around after I use it a bit but want to use it as is for a while and go from there.

Yeah any feed back would be appreciated.

I know I need to implement moonfire on the single target version as I had to remove it, for some reason it caused stalls. I’ll look into it more this afternoon when I wake up.

usingboth perfectly in dungeons, just ended up using moonfire myself with the ST one, keeps uptime well and feels like it flows really well, thanks.

Sorry for asking but how do I move this to an icon that I can place and click on my bar? I can’t find that option.

Many people are having issues, therefore… I added a video to assist with getting GSE up and running in Pre-Patch

I have several videos to assist on my channel. GSE has changed ALOT.

New ST version it should keep moonfire up on a single target with 100% uptime.

Oaks videos are very good but the simple answer is that you can’t anymore. You must now assign a key and that key can’t be used on your action bars (In my guide you see 2 and 3 being used.) You can look through installation for a step by step guide on how to install it or watch Oaks video (remember to give him a like if it helps.)

Getting the dreaded cannot import error…cannot interpret sequence. Other sequences work but…

If you look in previous versions the old version will always still be there (imports will also have a different name so it doesn’t get overwritten.) I’ll see if it was a pasting error on my part give me about 10 min.

Ok reuploaded it you can test it again. I had to reload my addons on my end.

Works, thanks. Now just need a resto one.

Thank you!

I was looking into that as I was thinking about playing a bit of resto but I’m not sure how I’d even go about such a macro as its cast spells as needed and not a priority.

I could do a kitty weaving or a boomkin damage for grove keepers to help cut down on the number of buttons.

Otherwise I think it would just be normal macros with a lot of modifiers like cast rejuvenate with a alt modifier for lifebloom.

Is that because if the new limitations Blizz added? I have to admit I have been lazy…lazy enough not to lean rotations as I mass level alts in Remix. Guess I need to learn the class more. :frowning:

Healing is a role that is difficult to macro in general. Damage intake is not predetermined so in one fight you might need to just focus on tank healing while in the next you need to keep the party up through burst group damage.

Luckily resto itself is pretty easy to learn and has a limited number of spells. I was thinking about the following spec (different than wowhead but I want to limit the number of spells.)

Rejuv - Decent healing use on any member who is not at full health. Use twice if they are less than 60%.
Life bloom - Always on yourself and the tank.
Regrowth - This is your big heal.
Wild Growth - Use if 3 or more part members are damaged.
Effo - Goes under as many people as possible.
Tree - Always keep a tree up (you can have almost a near 100% uptime.)
Ironbark - Use if the tank is about to take a tank buster and has no CD’s.

The good part about this build is over casting Rejuvs can help increase your throughput while still not hurting your mana as much as normal. Its also pretty good at healing tank damage With two rejuves, lifebloom, and effo on the tank they benefit from 7 stacks of mastery making regrowth hit pretty hard (which is also amplified by the number of total rejuves you have on the party.)

Than you just need a dps macro for when you aren’t healing.

Ive sort of sussed this out but i have no icons for 1 and 2 ive setup so 1 = ST 2 = AOE but no icons just weird im so used to seeing the icons.
