I came up with a really easy, but effective GSE sequence that lets Blizzard’s very own Single Button Assist take care of your primary rotations, handling both single target and multitarget operations automatically without any need for extra button pushes, while GSE handle the basic “up front” stuff automatically.
This is designed to keep your pet’s health up at all times so you can tank with it better, but get solid DPS on both the ST and MT target dummies. This sequence favors using a Spirit Beast Pet, but works with anything. It’s great for soloing and using your pet to tank, but holds its own in other situations as well.
Essentially, it takes the SBA button and adds it to a GSE sequence, where GSE simply “fills in the blanks” where the SBA leaves stuff out. All you need to do manually is interrupts, traps, flares, etc… the core DPS rotation is handled by SBA.
When combat begins, this sequence:
- Calls your Slot 1 Pet if it’s not already out (Spirit Beast strongly recommended)
- Casts Hunter’s mark on your target
- Casts Misdirection conditionally: (If you’re solo, it’ll auto-cast MD to your pet. If you’re in a group/5-man/raid/dungeon/scenario/delve of any kind with a human or follower party member, it’ll automatically NOT cast MD at all. However, in any situation where you have a party member, you can SET FOCUS TARGET and that will automatically cast MD to that focus target every time it cools down and they are in range. If you do not set a focus target in a party situation, MD will not cast.
- Casts Mend Pet on cooldown.
- Auto-casts Spirit Mend and Spirit Pulse to your SPIRIT PET on cooldown, again to keep it’s health up at all times. (You can modify this in the editor to any target you want or yourself, but I set it to the pet to maintain it’s health at all times)
- Auto-casts Dash on the pet so they get to your target faster.
- OPTIONAL - I left in a disabled Trinket/Ring/Necklace-USE block in the sequence, in case you pick up an item with a “USE” ability that adds more DPS. If you have one that doesn’t choke up the sequence, feel free to enable that block in the editor. I find that when you have any sort of ground-targeting ability, it’ll choke up the sequence because it needs you to manually target the ground for it to work. So I skip using those. The ones that directly target your active targets work best.
- At this point, the sequence uses Blizzard’s Single Button Assist combat rotation, which automatically and intelligently uses the correct skills in the correct order as they become available, and based on single-target and multi-target situations. The SBA rotation will only be interrupted to reapply Misdirection, mend Pet and to check to make sure you pet is still alive, but will immediately continue afterward.

- PEW PEW AWAY! (You’ll notice that on the Single Target Dummies, it won’t use Wild Thrash, but on Multi-Target Dummies it will - automatically.)
****Keep in mind that the SBA will slightly increase your Global Cooldown, but I haven’t noticed any severe drop-offs in DPS. Either way, this is designed for people who are willing to sacrifice a little DPS for a more easy-flowing gameplay experience, and to give you and your pet much higher survivability.
