correct just mash the button, most users run a gaming mouse and set it up so it mashes the button for you as long as you hold the button down.
hmm it wont apply rupture unless it has the combo points to spend so there can be a delay on the opening of combat, as it slips you in to a shadow dance sequence instantly. its one of the compromises for macro flow and overall performance. alternatively some create a separate opener macro then switch to this once its underway.

Yes the macro goes on the hot bar for stealth and no stealth. (Both Bars)
Iām finding in the world the macro runs well, it does shadow step ect and 3k average on 225ilvl
now i did a dungeon and the healer was higher than me as i was doing 1k dps and it didnāt do shadow step and during the cycle the red ? seemed to come up alot as usualy it shows each spell when there spamming through
odd it if it works in open word it should work in a dungeon. is there something that only works in instances that changes an ability in some way like a conduit or talent or legendary? thatās all i can think of as it works ok for me
i thought it was odd also, i havenāt changed anything using as it was made to, ionly thing i can think is i went from outlaw to sub mid run so maybe that stopped it ?
possibly as they are different macros. also could be something simple as weapons were not swapped correctly which prevent abilities from triggering. this has happened to me from personal experience
Anyone else having issues in 9.2 with the out of stealth code not firing? Mine keeps casting backstab the trying shadow dance and resetting back to backstab.

So ive been helping a couple of people with this macro there is one small adjustment you can make that MIGHT give you a performance boost. i will update my macro with it when im next in game.
but below is part of one of the conversations that i had explaining the changes that worked for me the best. so if you cant wait you can try what i outline below. or just wait.
not sure how it would work for you but for me i managed to get the number of casts of rupture and shadow dance next to identical of the sims. with a small improvement to Evicerate and shadow blade casts. say around 55-60, I ended up setting up flagellation to be cast on CD so one less thing to worry about. but means it might not be optimal if you want to time with raid lust/hero windows etc.
the only 2 things to be aware of is slice and dice uptime, macro has it close to 60% but you need to get it to 99%. i could not get it macroed so was manually applying when a weakaura told me.
next was macro speed. you have to tune this to your character but what i noticed was in the sims the character NEVER goes below 35 energy during a a low point. so when not dancing as you get stupid energy when shadowdancing. you you have to pick a speed and watch the dummy for 5 min watching your energy if at any point it dips below 35 your too fast so you adjust your speed so that the worst case you will be 35. what this means is you should be able to cast every time and melee casts should drop. so for me its like 220ms. also there is an option in the details addon that shows in realtime your casts with a cast bar if you get that up you can see how often its casting and want to get it as close to as soon as its finished casting it on the next cast. combine that with your energy observations to find that sweetspot for MS.
As for the macro the only change is the backstab sequence. at the end of the original macro it was 3x BS then EV before going back to start.
what i changed was change the las BS and EV around so is should be BSx2 EV, BS,
then after that if you add another BS,EV,BS, this pushes out the timing of Rupture meaning you cast it less but from testing we were casting it like 5 cast more than what was needed in sims
