I just pulled avenging wrath out of the cast sequence and put it /cat on the line below seemed to fix it

idk i have the problem today divine toll wont cast. In all versions of the macro
3.5 Works great ORb thank you for taking the time to sit and mess with it i had 0 downtime with a 5 min target dummy pratice at lvl 90 great works as always

Hi everyone I’m writing here in the Paladin section to give my honest feedback about the current state of Retribution Paladin unfortunately there’s really nothing we can do right now the Ret macro setups are almost completely unusable I’ve tried pretty much every macro posted on the forum and tested all possible settings including different spell queue values OOC mouse pulling and every combination I could think of but nothing works properly there are more dead times than actual skills going off and sometimes the character just stands there like it’s thinking before casting something I’m currently level 90 with item level 230 so it’s not a gearing issue but with GSE macros I’m experiencing around 70/80 % downtime and abilities often fire in a very inconsistent way I know the macro developers are working on fixes and I also understand they have to enjoy the game and focus on the expansion too and I’m sure if there’s a solution they’ll find it this is not meant to be a complaint just honest feedback as of 04/03/2026 I’m posting here because everyone has been helpful especially Orbalisk and Ricore who helped me a lot but sadly right now Retribution Paladin with GSE macro is simply unusable at least in my experience!
You may be having another issue if you’re experiencing a 70% downtime. Go into your GSE settings and make sure that MultiClick is enabled/checked. I am working on a build and sequence to hopefully maximize the uptime we do have. You can test them here, as I have not released them yet and am still tweaking. As of now, I will not be playing ret as a main for this xpac, as I feel warrior and monk are solid and feel good to play. I don’t know what changed, but paladin as a whole feels off to me right now. Very clunky.

Thank you very much for the reply and for the support I already checked my GSE settings and MultiClick is enabled along with the other recommended options but unfortunately I’m still experiencing a lot of downtime that said I’ll gladly try the new build and sequence you’re working on and I’ll test them right away on the dummies so I can give you proper feedback I’ll also post the dummy results after I’ve done some solid testing thanks again as always for the time you put into this and for all the help you give to the community I really appreciate it

Thank you. It feels like certain skills just will not fire as much as I want, like Blade of Justice. I’m working on solving that issue. It’s frustrating because I’ve gotten more complicated classes like Monk to sim and feel really tight, but this is one of the most simple specs in the game and it’s having issues.

So I tested 3.7v on the target dummies both AoE and single target, and for now these are the results. I based everything on 3 minutes of DPS, in case that helps you! I play in Italian, but in the end you can understand everything from the icons anyway ^^ haha

But it still FEELS off. I don’t like it. My motivation to level my paladin is non-existent and I think I’m going to level my DK today instead.
Don’t get disheartened. I’m working on a new ret sequence and i’m at/above sim data for 3 min target dummies (sim 85k and I pulled 85-88k on my tests so far)
I have a feeling that stat priority should be haste=mastery crit, verse instead of mastery #1 but as i’ve gotten more gear its feeling better and better (232.81 ATM)
Just with you playing in Italian, have you checked everything is translating correctly so spells can fire off as they should? 70% downtime sounds like an awful lot.
Yes, I have all the spells translated, now the downtime has decreased but I still have some! Maybe there’s something in the GSE settings or in the client that’s messing everything up! But despite all the changes, I feel like I’m still missing something and I need to figure out what it is, because I need to understand whether it’s my issue or a problem with the sequence! I play on a fairly powerful PC and my latency is also good, around 54 to the realm and 49 locally, so the problem isn’t my computer or connection but probably some client or GSE setting. It would take someone experienced to get on my PC and check everything to see if there’s something conflicting.
I’d double check for typo’s on the translation.
My longest downtime like 2-4 secs, until we get more haste we will always have downtime though. Sometimes you just dont get a art of war proc and just waiting for HP to gen.
You also mentioned Warrior and Monk as a solid option. Which one do you recommend?

Fury warrior is fantastic, and doing really well. I have the sequence pretty tight. Prot warrior feels terrible, but maybe it’s because I have no haste. The sequence is also good, but gameplay feels off.
Monk WW and Brew I have extremely well put together and I’ll be maining Monk this xpac for PvE content.
Paladin I will always work on, but I’m super frustrated with it right now and want to play the game a bit with enjoyment so I’m just questing on my monk. I still have to level my DK also, but that sequence should be working really well as nothing with it changes.

Sounds like youve got a solid read on your specs right now. At the end of the day enjoying the spec youre playing matters way more than forcing one that feels clunky or frustrating.
Hope you keep having a great time with it and just enjoy the game more overall.
