Pickled Beastie! - M+, Raid & PvP (Pack Leader & Dark Ranger)

Hey everyone, welcome to my build and sequences for Pack Leader (Single-Target Raid & Arena & Rated BGs and Dark Ranger (AoE mythic+). These are works in progress and intentionally kept somewhat simple, so give them a try and let me know how they feel. If they perform well, great. If not, I’d appreciate constructive feedback so I can improve them for everyone.

Modifier setup:

  • Alt: Trinket slot 14
  • Shift: Mend Pet
  • Ctrl: Intimidation

If you want to change these, just import the sequence into the GSE add-on and adjust the modifiers to whatever suits your setup. It’s quick and easy to do.

v1.0 (Released 16/04/2026)
Base versions of ST/AoE sequences - Status: Updated to v1.1

v1.1 (Released 19/04/2026)
Updated ST/AoE sequences to allow Black Arrow & Beastial Wrath to fire off faster (when cooldown is available) - Status: Discontinued

v1.2 (Released 05/05/2026)
Updated ST/AoE sequences with extra blocks to counter GCD issues, where sometimes spells/skills would be skipped. The flow should now be a lot better. Also created a PvP build, which you can use with the ST Pack Leader sequence. You will just need to manually use “Chimaeral Sting” & traps, as those are things, which are 100% situational. - Status. Active

This is lowkey the only real sequence thats outperforming the SBA for me. Great work. Your single target raid sequence does include Wild Thrash, I assume this is just the easiest way to cleave during certain bosses? I actually think the Pack leader sequence is better for both AOE and ST for me as well.

Yeah, this is so people can just make a quick change to their talents on cleave bosses like the dragons or the lightvanguard bosses.

will check it out later for sure hwo the sequence performs.

Its slowly shifting back to Pack Leader for aoe, are you planning on making a Pack Leader sequence for aoe?

Yeah, I can imagine easily making a Pack Leader version, because with the way the Hunter works there is not much complexity behind its rotation. I will look at what the AoE version has compared to the single target version and then change or remove whatever is needed in the sequence. That should pretty much take care of it. I will check if Pack Leader is now the preferred approach for AoE and go from there.

Added a Mythic+ AOE Pack Leader sequence to the top for those that want to give this a try as well. I’ll give it a go and see how it works in M+ dungeons compared to Dark Ranger. Of course my hunter is still fresh and not in tier gear yet, so please let me know the outcome

The only thing that could get rough with making a sequence is that you need to make sure you cast kill command after either cobra shot or barbed shot. To make sure you use the damage buff they grant to kill command

Yeah, I have Kill Command placed in the sequence where it benefits the rotation, but the downside is that I do not think it is currently possible in the GSE add-on to make it use a skill only after another specific skill has been used. That sort of functionality would draw a lot more attention from Blizzard to the add-on. Because of the way GSE works right now, I do not see that changing. If you want Kill Command to fire with perfect timing, you would have to remove it from the sequence and press it manually whenever you see Barbed Shot or Cobra Shot being triggered.

So I would say it’s probably not going to be 100% perfect, but with the way the sequence is and the cooldown of Kill Command, you will be benefitting from it without really noticing.

I guess the easiest solution is making it a modifier skill and casting it this way…

Tried it also a lot in making it never cast twice in a row but nothing turns out a 100% consistent.

It is definitely possible to add it as a modifier, but I think most of us understand that because it fires off so frequently and has a very short cooldown of around six seconds, it does not feel necessary to place it on a modifier. It activates often enough on its own, and the chances of having the damage buff from the other abilities are already quite high. Of course, this is never going to match the performance metrics of someone who plays the class manually without using sequences. That is just common sense.

I would say that modifiers should be reserved for abilities that are genuinely important to control. That is why I included Mend Pet, since keeping your pet alive is important for maintaining damage. Intimidation is there because sometimes you need to get a stun off quickly, and many players have experienced trying to click abilities while a sequence is running only for the input to fail, forcing them to stop the sequence. Having it as a modifier avoids that issue. The trinket is also included because items like the Puzzle Box have a cast time, so it made sense to attach that to a modifier as well.

As always, players can change the modifier choices to whatever abilities they feel are more important for those three keys. But if they want to have Kill Command on one of the modifiers, then they will need to remove it from the block in the main sequence

Nice macro! Thanks!

How about MM ?

I can have a look into Marksmanship. If I remember correctly, it is a bit more of a challenge because a lot of its damage relies on using abilities when the correct procs are active. That is probably why you do not see much of it.

I will take a look at what the rotation looks like on sites like Wowhead and other websites that show optimal rotations, and then see if there is anything that could be done.

I imagine the only really successful sequence would be a combination of modifiers, other skills applied, and Blizzard’s single-button assist. That is what I could see working, but like I said, I will have a look and see if it is possible to do something better than the single-button assist.

When it comes to Marksmanship, I am going to wait until next week. I have been told it is being reworked for patch 12.0.5, and I want to see the final version before diving in. I have not reviewed the patch notes yet because changes on the PTR often shift before release, so it makes more sense to wait for the live update.

Depending on what actually changes, there could be a large influx of new sequences for Marksmanship. I would rather avoid adding more noise if that ends up being the case. For now, I will hold off and see how things look after the patch goes live.

If there are significant updates, I will create a dedicated thread for Marksmanship in the Hunter section.

Also, for people who want to run delves on the Beast Master and find Dark Ranger a bit difficult to use, I recommend using the Pack Leader m+ build because it seems to flow better for delves. I have gone back to using Dark Ranger for m+ since it is currently performing better than the Pack Leader version. I have also seen players running +20 keys while still using Dark Ranger. If things shift toward Pack Leader in the future, I will look into that as well

Hi, and thanks for sharing your macro. I’d just like to make a few comments, though.
The macro seems smooth, but the problem is that spells like Bestial Wrath and Black Arrow are cast far too late, only as soon as they’re ready. Let’s say the hunter’s priority is to keep Bestial Wrath active as much as possible, and I’ve noticed that the macros are quite slow to use them. Also, for the Dark Ranged build, Black Arrow should be used immediately to maximise AoE dam

Hey there, thanks for the feedback. This is actually something I’ve noticed as well. I’m going to try to work on this today or tomorrow. I’m pretty busy with family stuff today, so I’ll likely get to it tomorrow.

I’m thinking that moving around the placement of Bestial Wrath and Black Arrow should hopefully resolve the issue. There have been times where I send in my pets and wonder why Bestial Wrath hasn’t gone off yet, and then it triggers a few seconds later. The same thing happens with Black Arrow sometimes.

I’ll double check everything. Like I said, playing around with the placement in the sequences should help resolve it. There isn’t really a way to explicitly force one to fire before the other, aside from adding modifiers to ensure they go off instantly.

I’ll get this sorted out, hopefully by today or tomorrow, and then run a quick test to see if the issue is resolved. Thanks again for the feedback, and have a great weekend.

One more thing, if possible, could you split the macros into single-target and AoE ones separately? Maybe it’s just me, but I find them much more convenient. Besides, Wild Sweep is only AoE, so using it on a single target is just a waste of DPS. Thanks again, mate.

All right, which sequence are you referring to? Are you talking about Pack Leader or Dark Ranger? I have Wild Thrash in the single target sequence, so if you want to switch over to using AoE, all you need to do is go to your talents, remove one talent, and enable Wild Thrash (for example for cleaving bosses). If you let me know, I can take a look into it.

Yeah, the Spec Dark Ranged game for M+. Thanks, by the way. I’ve finished updating my macros and posted them here on the site. Maybe you could have a look at them too, so we can work together with the others to improve everything, OK?

Ok give this one a try. It seems to fire off Black Arrow when it’s off cooldown, but Beastial Wrath seems to only depend on when it’s ready as other skills seem to fire off, but it does off quicker, than it did before.

Anyway I’m off for the rest of the day, spending time with my family and the parent-in-laws.
