This macro set is pretty straight forward. It’s built around lightning bolt/earthshock for single target and chain lightning/earthquake for aoe.

update 12/8/24: I updated the talents slightly which should help improve dps according to the sims

Important:

  1. go to GSE options - TroubleShooting - turn off ActionButtonUseKeyDown, otherwise gse macro won’t fire off using this macro set.

troubleshooting

  1. LUA ERROR NIL VALUE- That means you don’t know all of the spells that I added within GSE.
    Make sure you’re using all the same talents I have shared and the error should go away (passive talents don’t matter as much)
  2. If Leveling, download bug sack and bug grabber addons so you don’t get spammed with popups. Once you learn all the required spells, the error should go away. Alternatively, you can also go to GSE-MACRO_NAME - tab:‘1’ - disable all spell blocks containing a spell you don’t know - save. You can always go back into gse and reenable them when those spells are learned.
  3. This is made for the English version of WoW. If you are using a different language, you will have to manually translate the spells to the language of WoW you are using.

note: if you were to use it like this, make sure that in your game menu/options/combat/self cast is set to none, then auto, so that the self cast key does not show as ‘alt’.

If you are using these sequences while leveling, disable the block with Nature’s Swiftness (and save), and enable it again when at max level (in my case 70) and you have the Nature’s Swiftness talent learned. Otherwise you keep getting a LUA error.

Macro wont fire for me.

Did you go to GSE options - TroubleShooting - and make sure ActionButtonUseKeyDown is not activated? This method of activating GSE through the /click macro command currently only works if the ActionButtonUseKeyDown is not checked marked.

ho yea, it work now. I like it. does good damage. Sometimes it block for a few sec for some reason. I will try to see which action are blocking and let you know.

Funny enough, I was actually messing around with my shaman and was noticing the same thing. Anyway, after a bit of testing and changing around the location of the spells, I think I got it to run a lot more smooth. That wow macro line with Frost shock in it is only there as a convenient way to tag/slow an enemy quickly, and thus won’t hurt the dps any if you left it out. I would have use Flame shock as an opening tag instead if it wasn’t for that pesky 6 second delay it has on it.

Anyway, I updated the main post (both the wow and GSE macros). Hope you like the change.

Please, let us know when the talents will include hero… or, do you have a suggestion on a dps talent build from somewhere else? I am uber worried I chose wrong, lol.

It might be a bit before I have time to level my shaman, but when I do, I’m likely to go here for hero talents recommendations: hero talents

Yeah, that is the one I was using. I didn’t know what build to try so, I tried Mythic+, and atm the raid build. I am mostly a PVE player, and only PVP when my guild forces me lol.

There is a video on the bottom of this page that gives a short tutorial on the basic use of gse. on there, you should see a small check box next to the word disable near the top right corner of each spell. Once you clicked to disable any spell you don’t yet have, click save so the change goes into effect.

Just made my level 80 update to my elemental shaman macro set including a few changes which I think improved thing nicely. Let me know what you think.

Hello, I have a problem with your code, after importing it I don’t see it in the script database.

So long as you have you spam key down, pressing ctrl also will cause the WoW macro to keep trying to cast flame shock until you release ctrl, pressing shift plus spam key will cause the WoW macro to attempt to spam lava burst until you release shift, and only having the spam key pressed will have it go back to its normal spell rotation.

I just tested them and they import fine for me.
Double check and make sure that you’re following my instructions carefully, and that you’re importing the codes in the correct locations. If you’re sure you imported the codes in the correct location (top code is for your talents, and gse codes are down further), and they still don’t show up right away, try to /reload the game. If that also doesn’t work, then I’m out of ideas.
