update 11/3/24: I turns out that the more I play theere classes the more Prefer not having to press any modifiers. As a result, I believe I cam up with an effective alternative to this macro set that doesn’t require any mods. I also mad a slight adjustment to the gse sequence in an attempt to make that part of the macro set to run a little more smooth.

Important:

  1. go to GSE options - TroubleShooting - turn off ActionButtonUseKeyDown, otherwise gse macro won’t fire off using this macro set.

troubleshooting

  1. LUA ERROR NIL VALUE- That means you don’t know all of the spells that I added within GSE.
    Make sure you’re using all the same talents I have shared and the error should go away (passive talents don’t matter as much)
  2. If Leveling, download bug sack and bug grabber addons so you don’t get spammed with popups. Once you learn all the required spells, the error should go away. Alternatively, you can also go to GSE-MACRO_NAME - tab:‘1’ - disable all spell blocks containing a spell you don’t know - save. You can always go back into gse and reenable them when those spells are learned.
  3. This is made for the English version of WoW. If you are using a different language, you will have to manually translate the spells to the language of WoW you are using.

open the talent tree and import the following if you want to use the same talents as me:

Hi there. Just trying this out now but I am wondering if the finishing moves are supposed to fire off in this macro or is it just a builder macro? My combo points arent spending with the aoe macro. New to this. Thank you in advance.

My rogue macros are dependent on the use of modifiers for using the spenders (shift to cast rupture, ctrl to cast eviscerate, and alt to cast secret technique. While I could look into creating a castsequence line similar to what I have as in option on my feral druid at some point, it will likely result in a significant loss in dps due to the random nature of how fast the bars fill up.

Ok very good to know. I am at the training dummies now trying to choose between Sub, outlaw, and ass rouge. I am not the greatest player, and these macros really help, but can you suggest an option for me here? The assassination spec seems a little complicated for me.
Thoughts on what might be the easiest while doing the most dps? I seem to favor the Sub rouge, but my damage isn’t on point yet as far as the other options. Ass rouge I just get too caugt up looking at the hot bar and get distracted. Outlaw feels decent, but again not sure what to do here. Have my first vaults ready and really trying to decide before I open it. Thoughts? Thank you for the quick response.

To be honest, I would consider rogue one of the more challenging classes to play effectively in WoW right not. Out of the 3 though I had the easiest time leveling with assassination rogue (which was still one of the more challenging classes for me.) Out of all the classes I’ve done and leveled with right now, I’d say my bm hunter and windwalker monk seems to perform the best, the shaman also seems to perform really good (no modifiers required on that class also), and the druid is the class I have the most experience with as that is what I mained throught my years of playing WoW.

As in, I’m farming mythic Jaina for the mount right now, and so far, only my windwalker monk and bm hunter was able to defeat the boss fast enough before the encounter shifted to phase 2 using my macros and using mostly fresh level 80 gear.

Appreciate the response. I am slowly going through all the classes, and decided to give the rouge a try. I have experience with most other characters except the Monk, and rouge so this is new to me. I think there is just a little too much going on to properly maximize dps in assassin for dps for me personally, so I am between Sub, and Outlaw now. I would like to be able to run solo 8 delves with this toon which I have read is very doable, but again. My skills are a bit lacking, and I have issues with my hands so these macros are the difference between playing and not playing. I do appreciate your work on this. I seem to have the best flow with Sub on your macro so far, but I am going to try the outlaw again to make a final determination before I start grinding for gear. Once I level every toon to 80 I will pick one, and just max it out. Seems to be what happens every expansion, and I am still betweeen my Frost DK and my Ele Sham for fun and dps, but we will see. I do like the quickness of teh rouge, but the stealth gets a bit old at times. Fury warrior is next to level.

So it seems the more I have to play this game with my macros, the more I realize I prefer the no mod options of my macros, so I decided to see what I could do with this spec, and I think I came up with something that works pretty good.

I just started and use these while leveling but honestly I just keep my finishers separate and bind to a key such as R, F or V. Works well enough. I tend to work on 2-3 characters at a time and its a pain forgetting the rotation and this helps a lot.

Hi, sorry if this is a noob question, but I’ve imported this GSE sequence, but the following line doesn’t seem to trigger:
/click [nostealth] SCG_SUB_ST

Is GSE supposed to make a macro named SCG_SUB_ST to be triggered? It doesn’t for me.
I thought GSE had to be triggered via keybind now, and couldnt trigger via macro?

I had the same issue. I created a second GSE sequence exactly the same as the AOE sequence and replaced shuriken storm with backstab. Now it works great and this is the only rogue one I have ever tried that worked well. I am not good at GSE, but it appears the ST macro tries to call an ST sequence that isn’t there. I could be wrong, but mine works like a charm now.

Just FYI. I tried this checked and unchecked and I’m not trigger stealth.

Try changing the second last line to /click [combat] SCG_SUB_ST

I think I did change it to that with what I use, but forgot to update it here. Anyway, I’ll look into it more after I get home from work.

If I understand your question correctly, you just drag the icons created by the WoW macro to your action bars keybound to ‘1’ and ‘2’, no different than any other spell you want to cast.
