TB's BM Hunter ST & AoE Macros for High-End Raiding and Mythic+

Hello,

I’ve created this macro for my personal use and did both Mythic CN (first 5 bosses) and up to +18 keys with it, so I wanted to share it with you guys.

The macro consist of the main macro and two sub macros, please import all 3 and use TB-BM.

Usage

Auto targeting is only enabled in solo mode, to avoid pulls by mistake in group content. It also casts Misdirection to your pet on cd in solo mode.

There are 3 modifiers you can use with this macro:

Shift: AoE (Hold shift and spam the macro as long as you wanna stay in AoE mode)
Alt: Self Heal (This will block the rest of the macro, so release it as soon as the heal is cast)
Ctrl: Tranq Shot (This will block the rest of the macro, so release it as soon as the tranq shot is cast)

Macro will cast Hunter’s Mark at the beginning of combat, I usually start 1s remaining on the pull timer.

Both Barbed Shot and Cobra Shot are cast on mouseover target if exists, otherwise to the current target. This is to help with multi-dotting, and explosive’s during explosive weeks.

Covenant abilities and Aspect of the Wild are not included in this macro, I prefer to cast them manually using this macro:

#showtooltip
/castsequence [@cursor] reset=15 Wild Spirits, Aspect of the Wild

I’m using Rylak’s as legendary, so I won’t add support for SFE to the macro.

100-200 ms.

Talents

2-1-x-2-x-1-1

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thank you.

Additional Information:

After importing all 3 macros, you can delete the icons for TB-BM-ST and TB-BM-AOE macros to save some macro slots, you can do so from the macro list in GSE.

Also, if you are having problems with the sound settings (the annoying GCD ding sound), and if the setting in GSE didn’t work for you, you can modify the wow macro for TB-BM using /macro interface and change it to this:

#showtooltip
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/click [button:2] TB-BM RightButton; [button:3] TB-BM MiddleButton; [button:4] TB-BM Button4; [button:5] TB-BM Button5; TB-BM
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

Soulbinds and Conduits (for Night Fae only)

These are the ones I use. It’s usually better to do a Top Gear sim to see which ones are the best for you.

For Raids: Niya - Burrs

For Mythic Plus: Korayn - First Strike

Optional Weak Aura

Below, you can see the weak aura I’ve created for BM to use with this macro.

Do u have some logs too share?

How fast do u use it?

@christian-schroder Added the answers to the main post.

I’ve been using this for the past couple hours and I must say it really puts out the dps and flows nice and smooth. I start to get low on focus and then bestial wrath pops and builds it right back up. Very nice work here, sir. I will keep using this during the week and will run CN this weekend using it so I can look at the numbers for my toon. So far i’m really impressed with the macro - great work!

one question but for aoe com and it works, babrbed shot version 2 multidot is set, but then you change target continuously? while version 1 is full aoe or am I wrong?

Just a question, at lvling my lvl 15 hunter wont use kill command. I still have the spell.
Hm try it on my 41 Ally hunter and he use kill command. But not as often as possible.

@gamers That’s correct, with the AoE macro version 2, you either switch target, or mouseover them to multi-dot. It’s not always possible due to Barbed Shot getting spammed, especially after Bestial Wrath, I’ve tried to add something in between, but the overall performance was worse.

About AoE macro version 1, I tried to keep the frenzy buff up as much as possible, with very limited multi-dotting capabilities, but maybe except stone legion generals and huntsman fights, there are no fights where it would perform better.

@christian-schroder Unfortunately, this macro is specifically designed for SL end-game content. To be honest, I haven’t tested it with a low-level character, so I don’t know how it would behave.

The reason for it not to cast kill command as much as possible is to prioritize and spread the Barbed Shot usage.

Will we not aim too cast as much kill command as possible?

@christian-schroder BM Hunter rotation is a priority cast system, in most cases the highest priority is to keep the frenzy stacks at maximum. Due to the limitations of WoW’s macro system, there is no viable way to have a perfect rotation by only using macros (or GSE), therefore in this macro I had to sacrifice some of the Kill Command cast opportunities . Also, in SL, Cobra Shot’s damage is very close to Kill Command’s, therefore the potential dps loss is minimal, comparing to the sim dps.

This macro is brilliant! I’ve used it to run a few mythics and torghast earlier today and it is most impressive. Rarely does frenzy fall off and it uses focus perfectly for my toon - it’s amazing. The AoE and ST macros work amazingly and I love the way they’re set up with the mod keys and mouse-over abilities for multi-dotting. My dps has improved significantly using your macro and I am truly thankful for your effort here. Amazing job, TarasBulba - amazing!

Thank you @clip121, appreciate the feedback and I’m glad it’s working nicely for you  And again, please let me know if you can think of any way to improve it to perform even better.

I’ve tested out this macro in Dungeons and WQ’s and it performs nicely. The only problem I see with it is (and in almost all BM and MM macros) Kill Shot doesn’t fire off fast enough because it’s only in one line.

I put Kill Shot in PreMacro, Sequence, KeyRelease and PostMacro in all of my own macros and I get much better uptime with it there.

I also sim higher with the Bloodshot Talent and inserted it changing the macro a bit more.

I’d give some numbers on it but I’m fully geared and committed to MM as it still being the best DPS numbers-wise out of the three specs still.

@TarasBulba Keep up the great work and nice job!

@Deezyl_Fizzlepop Thank you for the detailed feedback.

I’ll test the Kill Shot change and implement it into the macro if the results are satisfactory.

Regarding the Bloodshed usage, it’s true that it sims a bit higher on ST, but the problem with it is that it only shines if you can line it up with other cooldowns, which is not possible due to the CDR on Bestial Wrath, and the other cooldowns are not a part of this macro. Also, the sim difference is so small (at least for me), so it’s negligible in almost all encounters.

I’m glad you are enjoying the macro, please let me know if you have more suggestions, thank you again

Edit: I’ve tested the Kill Shot change, and noticed that it caused the Frenzy drops on multiple occasions because of prioritizing Kill Shot over Barbed Shot, therefore decided to keep the original macro as it is for now. It still casts the Kill Shot, but sometimes delays 1-2 GCDs. Unfortunately, the only place where I could test this was the garrison training dummy, so the couldn’t really test the DPS difference.

hello Taras Bulba can you give me the link of your armory to see what stuff you play because with your macro I’m at 4k dps 223 ilvl

Hi @korsakooff,

I’m sorry, I prefer not to share info about my in-game identity.

I’m at ilvl 226, fully enchanted and gemmed. Using all the possible consumables.

I’m using Bottled Flayedwing Toxin + Shadowgrasp Totem for raiding, and Inscrutable Quantum Device + Shadowgrasp Totem for mythic plus. Shadowgrasp totem is on autocast, and I control the other trinkets manually.

My unbuffed stats are:

Critical Strike: 28%
Haste: 16%
Mastery: 32%
Versatility: 11%

I hope this helps.

what is the difference between TB-BM (main macro, use this for your toolbar / keybind) AND TB-BM-ST (ST macro) I don’t know what to use
