TWW Assassination Rotation 11.0.5

Disclaimer:

Before we dive into the details, I want to provide a disclaimer. These sequences have been developed and refined over the years based on my personal preferences and playstyle. I’ve shared them publicly to help others who enjoy playing Rogues using GSE. If I’ve published a sequence here, it means it’s working perfectly fine for me. However, if something isn’t working on your end, I might not be able to fix it for you. That responsibility will ultimately fall on you to troubleshoot.

UPDATE FOR 11.0.5

Builder/Spender Macro

This macro is designed to handle your primary builder and spender abilities. It does not include utility abilities or crowd control (CC), focusing solely on maintaining an optimized damage rotation.

  • Purpose: Simplifies the builder/spender rotation for Assassination Rogues.
Utility: Does not include utility abilities or crowd control.
Optimization: Focuses on an optimal rotation without extra frills.

What the Macro Does

The macro automates several key aspects of the Assassination Rogue rotation:

  • Major Cooldowns: Uses all offensive cooldowns optimally.
  • Maintainance: Keeps Garrote, Slice and Dice and Rupture active, even when switching targets.
  • Builders and Spenders: Utilises Mutilate and Ambush (If talented into Blindside) as builders, and Envenom as the main spender.

Area of Effect (AoE) Versions

Two versions of AoE macros are available:

  • Caustic Spatter Sequence: Optimises uptime on Caustic Spatter
  • Raid ST (Without Caustic Spatter or Crimson Tempest) Sequence

If you are raiding with Caustic Spatter and Crimson Tempest, the second AoE variant will not be necessary.

Talents

These builds are what I’m using from Wowhead / Rogue class Discord but any should work.

Raid:

CMQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMjZmhZmxyMAAAAAAMbwyMAAAAAA022MzwDMzYMzMLz2MjxMYYmZGzsZbMDwmZZgBsEsMMBGWA

The macro is built around a PVE talent setup, but it is versatile enough to work with almost any build, including PVP.

  • PVP Application: In PVP, the macro functions as a burst sequence, allowing for manual control of CC without disrupting your primary rotation. Be mindful of your trinket slot when using this sequence. You may need to remove /use 13 or /use 14 to prevent accidental trinket use.
  • Talent Compatibility: The macro is versatile and includes all key talents, including Deathstalker and Fatebound, to ensure maximum efficiency across different builds.

Final notes:

Just a quick note that I did make this using target dummies and have tested them extensively in all types of content since the prepatch of TWW. This sequence has been by far the hardest rogue spec to optimise because of the uptime of all the dots. It’s also why I’ve been hesitant to release this publicly.

  • DoT Uptime: If you notice any of your DoTs firing too early or late, adjustments will be necessary. This can be resolved by manually adding or removing filler abilities in the sequence, such as adding/removing Mutilates to the /castsequence builder or adjusting the use of Envenoms in the spender portion of the sequence.

Hi, just wanted to test your macro, but all strings are the same

I’ve also updated on the original post. Let me know how it goes

Thanks for your macro. I tried to run it. The ass_spend sequence is not working while others can fire.

Hey there, did you end up finding out what the problem was? In the ST spender sequence, there is 2 castsequence macros on a priority loop. First castsequence is Slice and Dice once per combat "/castsequence reset=combat Slice and Dice, Null".

The second castsequence macro is just the finishers that reset per target "/castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target Rupture, Envenom, Envenom, Envenom, Envenom, Envenom".

I’ve deleted all my sequences and imported them from my original post to see if there was any problems on my side but I just finished running some Delves with no problems. I guess you can try re import or I’m not too sure if you have a conflicting keybind? Is Slice and Dice firing? or maybe do you have enough saved macro slots? I’m not sure how I can do something on my side but if you can provide more context of what exactly isn’t working in the spender macro, maybe I can be of some help!

Thanks

Edit

Here’s a short clip of the sequence recorded in action after I deleted and imported from the original post to test after reading your comment: https://youtu.be/OajbQRelSPU?si=BMrPqoWXIsY3FGjQ
You can see what abilities have been used under my action bars.

Hey man, love your macros. Is there any chance you could do a feral Druid one? The build/spend is way better than the all in one macros on there

Fingers crossed!!

Wow thanks! I’ve actually been considering making one for feral lately. You’ll be the first to know if/when it gets done :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi I managed to get 1600 with this macro today. Only picked up the assa rogue today (alt) works well with pvp build and manages reprimand really well I took out the shadow steps and 13 14 and If feels disgustingly good my pug priest was confused about the damage I was doing and so was I. Gonna try your sub build but I see you running cold blood not sure about that. I’ll try it with sepsis and see how it goes. Thanks for the builder spender it’s a god send

Please do I’ll get my feral to 80 and be staying tuned

Nice! I’m adjusting the Subtlety one right now for pvp. It’s pretty much done, I just have to update it on my post

I think you should do it without step in it so the user has more control with step kick step kidney and what not but seriously keep it up also I saw a rogue today with the same name as you EU doing bloody tokens who I killed if it was you at least I bested you with your own macro xD respect and love

Yeah true! I personally don’t use shadowstep in my sequences. I’d rather manually press it myself but I thought I’d add it in to make it a bit more beginner friendly for people that probably wouldn’t even know about it. It’s also why I only set it to fire out of combat so ppl don’t end up shadowstepping mid fight. If people want to edit it they way they like, it should be easy enough to add or remove abilities though.

What sometimes happens which I noticed and maybe it’s positioning is that it will step twice before combat so I use both my charges or steps when I am 2 meters away so I took it out and it’s Gucci but I think we on the same page with that

Hello, i would like to play with rogue with your macro, but can you explain how it works ? Normaly i use 1 button to Single target and other button to AOE. But you have 4 sequence, how it works?

I use external mouse click macro, with 0.04 ms.

Can you help? thank you

ok Never mind  i just found out. i will use 1 button to ST to build up combo and swift-(samebuton) to use the finisher sequence.

Roger

Hi, thanks for the time you put into creating the macro; seems to work well. There’s a block that has, “/click SmartMisdirect” - I’m assuming that this is referring to a macro, but it’s not part of the macros imported.

You can get rid of that one. I use that for the Tricks of the trade weak aura. I kept it in because If you don’t use that weak aura, it won’t do anything.

Thank you for the reply. Good to know.

I’ve been tweaking it a lot as In controlling death mark and kingsbane myself and taking out shiv and Thistle tea obviously the base sequence is by far the best. But I think the bare bones of it is even better.

Another thing I did was swap garroteswap with reprimand as then the garrotes come out quicker for aoebuild and if I need more garrote in m+ I just press it again manually. It’s very simple to edit this gse. I love it
