Where is Taras Bulba's Macro topic?

I dont understand either. But perhaps he got mad over some ppl that allways complain.

OK I have figured out how to make it work. The latest GSE update disables macros that don’t have a button assigned so what I did was add TB-BM-AOE icon to my key bar along with TB-BM-ST. Now the macro works as it should. You still use the TB-BM button as the one to fire the others you just need to have them a button assigned on your keyboard. Thanks to Timothy Luke for a heads up about this.

Any one have some m+ logs for this macro? Im getting good parse but crap om key %…

Just to clarify, I’ve got mad at Blizzard for the company it became in years. Latest lawsuit was what tipped me over. I’ve been playing WoW since it’s release, and other Blizzard games long before that. I’m not mad at people, I’m mad that the company I’ve liked the most in all times turned into this.

Feel free to use the macro, I’m sure you can figure out how to use and maintain it.

Wish you all the best.

Thanks Taras - It’s good to hear from you again. I am still using your macro as I’ve not found another that comes close to it’s performance. I completely understand your position and respect your decision. Hope to see you back playing in the future and if not I wish you good luck in life. Thanks for checking in with us and for the macro.

Hello all BM hunters out there. I am a long time user of WLM and GSE and I just wanted to let you all know that this macro is still working very well still today. @TarasBulba - I hope you see this - because I just want to say TY for making it.
I was a long time user of SLG macros, and when he left - my heart was broken (he was a in game friend, and we hung out off stream, too). SLG - if you see this - I hope all is well and, PLEASE COME BACK to WoW.
After he left, and GSE was changing, I looked thru ALOT of the macros and this one was the best, that I had tried - I have tested most all of them. I run 3 min cycles with different gear, different talents, I even vary the MS I use to optimize the macro as much as I can.
I have examined the macro up and down trying to see if there is something about the macro, that I am missing or needs to be added so I could optimize my DPS output, and get me closer to my SIM. I realize that nothing is better than following your rotation with keys etc… but I am old and slow and cant hit the buttons fast enough to maintain a decent rotation. That is why I use GSE.
With that being said, I am asking for some help. My sim is currently 14,500 DPS (I have 4 set, ilvl 276, so’leahs and sigil) and my burst is anywhere between 20-45k pending on number of mobs. On the ST dummy running at 170ms (that is the best I have found, I have tried 150 - 200ms, in increments of 5) I burst to 24k then at the end of 3 mins I am down to 11k. It seems to be a bit focus starved at times because BS stacks drop off. I have tried to add an extra kill command and various other tweaks, but to no avail. I have exhausted everything that I know how to do, which isnt much, so I am asking you all, for some help.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
DG

ur issues is ur running it at 170ms… its just 2 fast most all run marcos or should run them at 250ms

@Kiadarkley
Thanks for the input. I have tried various MS timings. I run 3 min tests at all MS timings and I use the ones that give the best DPS. I don’t use any CD’s (MY BM burst is HUGE). If you run this macro at 250 MS, it wont break 7k. ALOT of the earlier macros were designed to run at 100 ms before all the 250 ms info came out.
I know macros are specifically made for the creators and their toons, but I know that I am either missing something or something needs to be added somewhere, I just don’t know how or what to do. My single target sim is 14,538 DPS and I cant get over 9-11k in most fights.
Thanks
DG

You need to spend many hours comparing logs of your macro with your sim and tweak and adjust the macro till those two play out the same. Using someone else’s macro will generally get you 50-60% of your simmed dps. The other 40% is you making the macro work for your character. A simple thing like a 6% haste difference between your character and the creators character can mean that you essentially have to almost throw out their macro and start again as the timing will be progressively different the longer the fight.

Thanks for the input. Not exactly sure how to do what you are saying but I will do that. I am trying to get away from them altogether and be a better player and have more control over my character myself ie: manage CD’s use procs that the macro may or may not hit, beast cleaves etc.
Are there any guides on how to do what you are telling me?
Thanks much
DG

It is tedious and extremely time consuming.

  1. Go to Target Dummy
  2. Start logging - also turn on /gse debug
  3. Use your macro for X minutes
  4. Compare result with Sim of X minutes
  5. Look at log of what happened step by step - Look at the look at what your macro was doing from /gse debug and evaluate which actions were skipped and why.
  6. Change the macro so that when it gets to the deviation it casts the right spell and go back to the beginning

To dial in your macro will take between 10 and 40 hours repeating the above process. If you change one piece of gear and it changes your haste you are back at step 1.

Remember: Only change 1 thing at a time or else you wont know what caused the difference either good or bad

For example: It takes me two solid months hardcore to get mine where I want them.
