Usage Information

I’m not an expert on WoW classic, but I found some information that might help you create a gnome sequencer macro for leveling your hunter. According to , gnome sequencer is an advanced macro compiler for WoW that allows you to create a sequence of commands to be executed at the push of a button. You can use the concept of a block of commands, such as targeting an enemy, casting a spell, and using a trinket. You can also use loops, variables, and WoW API functions to customize your macros.

According to ⁔, some useful macros for hunters are:

  • Auto Shot Macro: This macro prevents you from canceling your auto shot if you spam the button, and also targets an enemy in front of you if you don’t have one already.
#showtooltip Auto Shot
/targetenemy [noexists] [dead] [help]
/cast !Auto Shot
  • Hunter’s Mark Macro: This macro commands your pet to attack a target while also casting Hunter’s Mark on it. This is useful for opening on new targets while soloing.
#showtooltip Hunter's Mark
/petattack
/cast Hunter's Mark
  • Freezing Trap Macro: This macro casts Feign Death and Freezing Trap at the same time, allowing you to drop combat and place a trap. It also puts your pet on passive so it doesn’t break the trap.
#showtooltip Freezing Trap
/stopattack
/cast Freezing Trap
/cast [combat] Feign Death
/petstay [@pettarget, harm]
/petpassive [@pettarget, harm]
  • Pet Control Macro: This macro calls your pet back to your side as quickly as possible. You should use this with pet attack macros on your abilities.
#showtooltip
/petfollow
/petpassive
/cast Dash

According to ⁶, the best spec for leveling as a hunter in Classic WoW is Beast Mastery (40/11/0), because it boosts the damage and stamina of your pet. You should also use a pet with high DPS and low armor, such as a cat or a raptor.

Based on this information, I tried to write a gnome sequencer macro for leveling your hunter in hardcore mode as a tauren hunter from level 1-60. I’m not sure if this will work perfectly, but you can try it and modify it as you see fit.

Sequences['Hunter_Leveling'] = {
  Author="Bing",
  SpecID=253,
  Talents = "3111132",
  Default=1,
  Icon='Ability_Hunter_BeastTaming',
  MacroVersions = {
    [1] = {
      StepFunction = "Priority",
      LoopLimit=5,
      KeyPress={
        "/targetenemy [noexists] [dead] [help]",
        "/cast !Auto Shot",
        "/petattack [@target,harm]",
        "/cast Hunter's Mark",
      },
      PreMacro={
        "/cast Aspect of the Hawk",
      },
        "/castsequence reset=combat Serpent Sting, Arcane Shot",
        "/cast Multi-Shot",
        "/cast Kill Command",
        "/cast Rapid Fire",
        "/cast Bestial Wrath",
      PostMacro={
      },
      KeyRelease={
        "/startattack",
        "/petattack",
      },
    },
  },
}

This macro contains 1 macro template. This Sequence was exported from GSE 3.1.34.

i am only asking cuz i admit i’m lazy. can you list your talents up to your current level. (if you got to 60 by now). if you dont want to its fine. lol :slight_smile:

Having trouble importing this. Are you able to export it as a string from GSE?

I think this export string: let me know.

Thanks, works well! :slight_smile:

Saw this and wanted to try it but wont import neither string works unless im missing something, used GSE a lot but cant get this one to work lol

I am not sure why it is not working now. I changed up my computer and I am not able to re-import the macro.

check to make sure you dont have to many macros stubs already. /m and count how many you have.

Is there anyway I can request a macro for SOD? Is this even the right place to request? I would be greatly appreciated.

regular classic macros work with SoD. so just need to find one of them.

I made an SOD version using a few skills. It worked great at lvl 8 and uses melee attacks too.

Anyway to get this involved into SoD?

What do you mean?, it works on SoD.

Just tried this on my level 35 hunter in Classic Hardcore. This sequence turns Aspect of the Hawk on and then on the next target turns it off, etc. I just removed that from the sequence. Also, I don’t like when the sequences target the closest enemy. Easy way to accidentally pull something while in an instance, so I removed that part as well. Still testing it.

good man we need more SOD macros
