Hello everyone!

I’ve decided to share my Prot Paladin ST/AOE macro with you all! After listening to feedback from the community, I think sharing it here will be helpful for everyone using this site.
Macros are also available on CurseForge and Wago. Just search for ‘GSE’ or ‘crogin’.

Protection Paladin ST info:

Sequence Info:

  • The ST sequence prioritizes using Crusader Strike three times, followed by Shield of the Righteous. It will also activate Holy Shield whenever it’s available. While the sequence does not use other cooldowns by default, modded keys are configured for certain abilities that may prove useful in specific situations. Avenger’s Shield is part of the sequence but will only be triggered when you’re in combat.

Note: To prevent the use of Avenger’s Shield, disable block #1.3. (Remember to hit ‘Save’ after making the change.)

  • The AoE sequence prioritizes using Hammer of the Righteous three times, followed by Inquisition to maintain increased damage for AoE output. It will also activate Holy Shield whenever it’s available. While the sequence does not use other cooldowns by default, modded keys are configured for certain abilities that may prove useful in specific situations. Avenger’s Shield and Consecration are also part of the sequence but will only be triggered when you’re in combat.

Note: To prevent the use of Avenger’s Shield, disable block #1.4. If you’d like to stop Consecration from being used, disable block #1.2. (Remember to hit ‘Save’ after making changes.)

Modded keys for ST/AOE:

  • Alt: Avenging Wrath – Increases your damage and healing output, boosting your effectiveness in combat.
  • Ctrl: Guardian of Ancient Kings – Provides a significant damage reduction, greatly enhancing survivability.
  • Shift: Ardent Defender – Reduces damage taken and provides a healing boost when you fall below a certain health threshold.

The following Sequences are included:

  • crogin Prot-AOE v0.2
  • crogin Prot-ST v0.2

The following Macros are used by GSE:
(Note: No action is required on your part, as GSE will handle these.)

  • ProtPalST
  • ProtPalAOE

I run this with 150ms, but feel free to adjust the MS to your preference between 100-250ms.
I wouldn’t recommend going below 100ms, though.

Hello, I noticed that Avenger’s Shield isn’t in this macro, was that on purpose?

I use it manually, I’ll add it when I get a chance to update it. I just keep an eye on some spells for myself and spam this for the others.

I used to use GSE but few years ago and it changed a lot since then. As everything is now in blocks I cannot really copy paste codes to see if changes works but maybe you have a trick for this.

I am curious if its possible for macro to check if Avenger Shield and Hammer of Wrath is available before continuing with whole sequence, as Avenger Shield reset macro and Hammer of Wrath is more about how much HP enemy have.

Basically try to cast Avenger Shield, then try to cast Hammer of Wrath and after that cast Judgement for example

No, we can’t do logical macros like that unfortunately.

You can setup a castsequence macro like that, but it will hang up if Avenger’s Shield isn’t ready.

What Orbalisk said is right, you can place the Avenger’s Shield on a /castsequence.
you could try /castsequence reset=15 Avenger’s Shield, Hammer of Wrath, Judgement, null
but I’m not sure if that will work as I never tried it.

Hi Crogin, Something with the addition of Avengers Shield broke the macros for me. AOE not doing hammer of righteous or consecration. Is there a way you can post the previous version and these so there is the option to do with and without Avengers Shield in the rotation?

I actually ended up getting used to doing it manually haha.

EDIT: Fixed it, not sure if it was user error or something int he import string, but the AOE macro in /macros was pointing to the ST GSE macro

Well, I’m glad it worked out for you, I generally do the Avenger’s Shield on my own, I added it to the macro because others were asking about it. I do consecration and avenger’s shield on my own. I’ve also been tempted to do Shield of the Righteous manually because doing heroics in Cata now comes down to either using Shield of the Righteous for the extra DPS or using Word of Glory for the extra survival.

Glad the macro is working for you.
Honestly, I’m not sure why it does that sometimes. When I make the macro it works at first but as I add more to it, it stops showing the spell icons, I change the icon manually.

If you’d like to at least change the icon to a different icon instead of always seeing the red ?. type while in-game /macro, a window will pop up, you will see two tabs, one saying ‘General Macros’ and the other saying your current character name ‘(your character name) Specific Macros’. Click on the second tab that has your current character name, and you should see a red ? in the list and a macro named CROGIN_AOE, and CROGIN_ST, click on change name/icon another window will open up and pick an icon of your choice, and hit okay the window will close and then click on save and you can close the window.

If you drag your mouse where you see the code, you will see two little items pop up on the right side of the code box, one looks like two papers stacked and the other has arrows pointing towards the upper right corner and lower left corner. Just click on the icon that has the two papers stacked on each other and it will copy the code, type /gse while in-game and the gse menu will open, click on Import, then press ctrl+v and click import then it will take you back to the gse menu and you will see the macro in the list, drag the icon that is shown on the right of the macro name and place it on your action bar.

About the red question mark, I’ve been asking around about it and nobody has an answer for it, I guess it just happens, I am waiting and maybe I will hear back from the addon creator, I asked directly and see what they say about it.
