Cym's Ret Macro Attempt

Thought i would dip my finger in here although i said i wouldn’t make a Ret macro, but, after changing my spec from Prot to Ret it’s been kind of fun. Not always, i still sometimes feel like a glass cannon at times but i think that’s because i forget i am no longer a tank…

Anyways. The macro and build.

I have gone for more of a cleave build rather than a pure single target macro as i think i will end up in dungeons more than i will raids for the time being.

I use RaidMacro for Questing/Raids/ST/Boss Fights.

Speed wise, this will be about the only macro i will EVER suggest using around 80ms. GASP yes, even for this long long macro i suggest going ham.

Holy Jeebus those are long… Any particular reason why? I’ve just got back into playing Ret as well.

Normally i like them rotational so there is always length and would advise slower speeds for this but in this case i say go faster.

This macro is not pure ST so it doesn’t perform as good against raid bosses on their own but more than 1 mob and they work really really well.

Pure ST would be more:

Blade of Wrath

This set of macros by far out performs for me other then the others. Thank you Cymiryc. Looking forward to any updates.

By request, i have moved the macros around to stop confusion. Too many were choosing the top set of macros, which i only intended to be the dungeon builds and not the main one. The move “should” stop further confusion :slight_smile:

When using this with Synapse the delay should be set to “0.08” really ? Wow that seems way too fast.

0.08 in Synapse world is still 80ms which a lot of macros here use anyway. 0.008 however would be 8ms and will probably disconnect you as you spam too quick and fill the keyqueue.

Since the release of 7.2.5, is this still on par or should we expect changes? This has been the best macro I’ve come across thus far. <3

From the looks of some changes i may have to make some changes to 1 or 2 abilities.

Namely adding in Zeal/Greater Judgment in place of Fires of Justice in the ST macro

I may also remove Divine Hammers for Blade of Wrath in the Raid macro. Divine Hammers is still good for Mythic and 3+ adds but for Cleave then Blade with Zeal will work better.

I will probably go ahead and re-introduce Justicar’s Vengeance for both Raid and Mythic+ builds over Eye for an Eye.

So yeah looks like there will be some re-work to do… the macro will work just fine in the meantime, even if you just change those talents.

Raid ST build will now look like: 1-2-1-2-1-2-2 (Previously was 1-1-1-3-2-1-2)
Alternative ST build w/Cleave: 1-2-1-3-1-2-2
Mythic+ build will now look like: 3-3-1-3-1-1-2 (Previously was 3-2-1-3-2-2-2)

Yes… No…Kinda?

I like taking slightly different thoughts on some macros, not all, but some, where they fit different parts of the game.

For this macro, since 7.2.5 it wouldn’t be the best performing due to some changes with Divine Hammers no longer being just as good on single target as it was in 7.2.

The top macros were made almost purely for Raiding and WQ/Levelling and it did the job well.
The 2nd set (bottom but actually the originals i released) were made more for Dungeons/Mythic+/AoE’s only.

They both did their job well.

Why the 2?

If you think about it, once you hit 110 you will probably raid 20% of your time (if on progress) and the rest of gearing/fun will maybe be mythics yet we are guilty of making macros which fit 1 purpose/aspect and leave it at that.

It’s with that thought that i have started making more Mythic minded macros… or try to :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks so much for the macros. Wondering, if you could give ratios or percentages of HASTE, CRIT, MASTERY, and VERSATILIY? Just wondering what to shoot for in order to maximize this macro.

There are no stat limits on what you’re aiming for…

That said your priority would be this:

WeaponDps>Vers≈Haste≈Crit>Mastery
