Hi mate, sorry to intrude, but i’d like to ask why you chose Kyrian for your covenant? From what I’ve read, BrM monks want to take Necrolords for the Bonedust Brew. Is this incorrect? Last I checked, the percentages for BrM were higher in Necrolords than Kyrian. Maybe the Bonedust Brew rotation is easier to code?
A quick look at Icy Veins-which you’ve probably overlooked- I saw this:
" If you desire the generic choice for most types of content, it is recommended to go with Kyrian as your Covenant and Pelagos as your Soulbind. This choice can be considered a useful baseline, despite not necessarily being the “best” in every situation."
" While it is tempting to follow whatever tools like Raidbots and SimulationCraft say offers the most damage, it is incredibly important to note that all four Covenants can be used on your Brewmaster without being a burden in whatever content you choose to participate. At least three of the four Covenants are within roughly 2% of each other in damage for most scenarios. Of course, Tanks in particular are likely going to have to consider more than just damage in their decision, and each Covenant offers a different variety of both defensive and utility options to be considered as well. There is also the matter of what content you might be most interested in playing and whether or not you intend to also play as a Windwalker or Mistweaver.
With that being said, different Covenant abilities will cover different niches, and you may feel that two or three of the four choices more solidly fit into certain bits of content, detailed below:
- Kyrian — Strongest in Raiding. A Convenient “hybrid” choice for PvE/PvP that is balanced in defense and offense, but its damage component requires time to build up. It also offers an extra health potion and is the best Covenant in Torghast.
- Necrolord — Equally best for Raiding. Marginally strongest defensive Covenant, but still very powerful in offense. Scales well with multiple targets, but can feel frantic to play with. It also provides an additional defensive cooldown.
- Night Fae — Best in Mythic+ for damage, though as of Patch 9.1 it can stand on equal footing with Kyrian and Necrolord when combined with the appropriate Legendary Power —
Faeline Harmony. This Covenant is the strongest offensive choice at higher target counts by a large margin, but requires you to be able to regularly stand still for long periods of time. It also offers an extra mobility cooldown. - Venthyr — The most passive choice, and slightly worse than the other three options overall, but can offer decent burst damage; the true strength of this Covenant is heavily reliant on fight length. It also offers an extra movement cooldown."
Well, I think Deezyl explained it far better then I ever could have, so I won’t bother adding to that. But another reason I chose kyrian is because I’m multispeccing als healer and dps, and kyrian is also quite a decent choice in those specs
Thank you, iFudge. Looks like I’m switching back to Kyrian as I also multispec as tank/healer. I was so looking forward to 9.1.5 when you could switch covenants easily, but from the things I’ve read, it’s speculated to come sometime in either November or December, ugh… And thanks to the mate that also copy/pasted that bit from Icy Veins (which I don’t use, so thank you, sincerely).
noticed all your macros went from 100 to 250ms. any particular reason why?
@Legendairy the best answer I can give to that is that there has been a lot of debate over ms speeds of late, your best bet is to either just use it or search ms on this forum and do some reading and choose an ms that you are comfortable using
Thanks for posting a nice macro.
Is it possible to use the BM macro only at level 60?
WW macro works fine but BM macro doesn’t work
(My level is 49 and I use it by rolling the mouse wheel down.)
The macros are made for 50+ but if you want to use them for leveling the best bet is to make a copy of the macro and call it something else, then remove any spell that you don’t know - this process will have to be repeated for every new spell you learn until you use the normal macro.
thank u
i will try it!
Or you could make a second Tab and copy over the spells/abilities/Talents when they become available, too.
Apparently, the reason why most macro makers here have switched from 100ms to 250ms is because Blizz is banning people that use macros/software that fire off class abilities faster than a human is supposed to be able to.
Or, instead of removing the spells and talents from the macro, there is a box you can click that disables that particular block. better than removing the spells, because then you might have them come back and ask you how to put the spells back as they level. XD
any reason this macro doesnt tiger palm for the cd reduction on brews?
@Elfyau
Tim’s worked very hard to put in a Debugging and Record Macro feature into GSE to show you what’s firing and not firing for whatever reason to maybe cut down on questions like these and use it to improve the performance in macros.
So, Elfyau can take his valuable time to do this for you instead of improving his other awesome macros.
I don’t mean to sound like a dick but please use what tools are there inside of GSE to help yourself first because there are some that have to have their hand held and/or spoon fed and not wanting to learn.
mate, i asked if there was a reason an ability isnt in it, a genuine question as to why? i didnt ask anything about the addon etc legit question about the spec rotation
The macro has been updated and is now available in the original post and via Curseforge. Let me know what you think! Cheers ![]()
