NOTE I have created a plugin for all of my Priest sequences, they are available at both Curseforge and Wago. Just search for ‘Elfyau’ or ‘GSE’
17-Feb-26:- Updated talents - no other changes.
This is my first working version, put together to get the correct talent strings sorted and a functional sequence ready so you can dive into the void without setup pain. It’s a straightforward foundation aimed at making Shadow feel playable right away.
It’s still early, but it should flow nicely in combat. I hope the insanity builds smoothly and it works well for you

hm… for some reason this time im struggling… cant get this to work , even if i remove all sequences / talent setup do a /re , toggling “action button…” of and on and a /re after…. its not responding at all… and i cant see anything in debugger… strange
I’m gonna be having a play around with this build, so I’ll let you know if it’s working. I’m gonna be leveling from level 1 to level 80, so I’ll just give you my opinion of the build once I’ve done that.
I’m currently level 35, and so far the sequence is working fine overall. At this level, though, there are points where your character just stands still for about 3–4 seconds before the sequence restarts. Since a low-level Shadow Priest only has a few core spells, manually pressing abilities still does noticeably more damage at this stage.
One odd thing I’ve noticed: when you enter Voidform, the sequence sometimes throws an error saying you “need to be in Shadowform” No idea what specific spell is causing it, but it’s strange since Voidform should count as being in Shadowform. Might be something that’s not available yet at this level.
Regardless, the sequence is totally usable for leveling. You just need to watch for the 3–4 second dead spots and manually hit Mind Flay to keep things moving until the rotation picks back up.
I’ll update again once I get through the next chunk of levels.
I run this at 80 with 152 Ilvl and it runs flawlessly, I only use these Macros at Max lvl and use SBA up to that point. You could go in and disable the blocks of spells you don’t have yet, I noticed when I disable any trinket box’s it takes away the hang up as well.
Yeah, it’s not really an issue for me anymore either since I’m sitting around level 73 now, but that “you need to be in Shadowform” error is still popping up for some reason. Pretty odd, considering everything is working fine otherwise.
The only real quirk I’ve noticed at this level is that there’s still that 3–4 second pause before the macro loops again. Looks like the halo isn’t part of the actual sequence, so that still needs to be used manually. Other than that, the macro does what it’s supposed to. Just expect that brief downtime at the end of the cycle before it restarts.
You did get me thinking though, so I might give the single-button assist feature a try and see how it handles things.
Yeah, I ended up making a really simple sequence myself. I checked how GSE builds its sequences and it’s a lot more straightforward than I expected, so I just made one that ties in the single-button rotation (or single-button assist, technically) and lets it run through that.
Right now I’m trying to figure out whether there’s any way for GSE to recognize when something is a cast or a channel so it doesn’t immediately try to fire the assist button again to cancel a channeling spell/skill. No idea if that’s even possible, but I’m going to experiment with it a bit.
Once I hit 80 and start getting more gear, I’ll be comparing both setups to see what ends up feeling better. From what I’ve seen and heard, Voidweaver is the main pick for M+ and raiding at the moment, so I’m just tinkering with it for fun. Honestly, I’m enjoying the class so far, and that’s what matters. Plus anything that saves my forearm from constant finger movement and tendon strain is a huge win.
