Feral Druid Swap Bar Macro (with video)...

Love the bar switching method, awesome job. Is there a way to add in faerie swarm somewhere?

In my last attempt to include Faerie Fire / Swarm, I discovered it is bugged. For example, if it is included in a castsequence line and followed by any other spell, it never casts the spells that follow it.

For now I have left it out, but if I ever revisit this toon’s macros, I will see about weaving it into the rotation somehow. Until then, it should just be cast manually each time its debuff wears off.

Cheers!

It keeps hanging up when i log in and out,
when i join 'LFR and LFG it hangs up. stops on healing touch, cant cast anything… i need to exit, enter game delete maccros and re write them to get them to work…
i use macrotoolkit. dont know whats wrong

That’s a new one for me. Never heard of that before. I wouldn’t even know where to start. What is your COMPLETE LIST OF ADDONS?

Hey Sethadon! I have been using this for about 3 weeks now and am still amazed/in “absolute” love with the macro. It surprises me every time I use it! I was wondering if you have tried to implement Cenarian Ward or Rejuvenation into the macro, Like reset Rejuvenation every 15 sec for example. and every 30 for the ward. I don’t know if this would be possible since the macro swaps the bar so frequently that it would be as if it was resetting it so it would have to go over it again and refresh every new bar swap perhaps? I’m not so sure. Just thinking outside the box. Is it at all possible to have a rest on a bar swap? so like every 15 seconds it goes to a “new” bar Bar 6 and bar 6 casts Rejuvenation? for that extra sustain or for those pvpers? I personally would love to get Cenarian ward implemented more so though just because it is such a great talent in comparison to the other two. If neither of these are possible I think I understand why but I was just thinking if any or all of these things were possible it would make for an AMAZING arena swap bar feral macro. It would have incredible sustain that it did not “quite” have before. Regardless this macro ROCKS and I still will redirect any and everyone to it.

Quickly, off the top of my head (not tested), you would likely have to do FOUR things:

First, you’d obviously have to change the level 30 talent from Ysera’s Gift to Cenarion Ward

Second, you would need to add Rejuvenation to the Shred macro (B2B1) - either before or after Rake in the castsequence line. Making the line look something like this:

/castsequence [mod:ctrl] Ferocious Bite; [mod:alt] Rip; [nomod] Shred, Shred, Shred, Shred, Rake, Rejuvenation

Next, you would have to create a 5th macro (adding it to the button 1 slot on bar 5 of course).

…keeping in line with the other macros, it would probably look something like this:

#show Cenarion Ward
/cast [combat, noform:2] Cat Form
/castsequence [mod:ctrl] Ferocious Bite; [mod:alt] Rip; [nomod, combat] Cenarion Ward
/cast [nomod, combat] Tiger's Fury
/use [nomod, combat] 13
/startattack [combat]
/swapactionbar [nocombat] 5 1; [nomod, combat] 5 2

And finally, you would have to modify the /swapactionbar line in the Healing Touch macro (B4B1) so that it knows to move to this new macro. This line would end up looking something like this:

/swapactionbar [nocombat] 4 1; [combat] 4 5

Feel free to make these changes yourself, and let me know how things go.

Cheers!

I tried adding in the Cenarion ward Macro. It works beautifully. I only got to test it on a dummy however but will post further results. My dps did not drop either. I just think If someone were to add this macro in to the sequence they would need to smash their button a little faster just to be safe since it’s an extra button press to get back to B2B1.

Glad to hear things worked for you. But what about Rejuvenation? I figured it takes between 12 and fifteen seconds to get through the full Shred sequence which is why I suggested to insert it there. Does it work how you hoped it would?

I would like to thank you, this is the best macro that i have ever used for my druid!! i burst at 33 - 36 k dps (my ilvl is 650) and i drop to 20 - 23 k dps !! my question is why the hell is this happening - i have to move a lot, do the tactics and if i move my dps drops as hell!!! do u have any recomandation for this prob!!! ty a lot and keep up the good work - ur the best!!!

The only thing I can think of, is to try and slow down your “spamming” rate (maybe?). At times, this macro works too well, and you can easily become “energy starved”.

For instance: Did you know that the more energy you have when casting Ferocious Bite, the more damage that spell puts out? Perhaps, you could start there (pooling more energy, by temporarily stop spamming the macro at times), and see if that helps.

It sounds counter-productive (I know), but if you have ever scoured over the cast sequence logs of a simulator program, you will see that even these simulators auto-attack for periods of up to 2.5 seconds at a time, while waiting for their energy levels to top up a bit.

Sorry for the shitty answer. But you stumped me there.

Cheers!

[/quote] don t want to start a sesion of questions here in which i want to "lock" ur answers, belive me this swap bar macro works like a glove for me - i tryed it like a last option ( i thought i can never play this useing modifers key ) and dam...it s the best for me out there - u have all my appreciation but i don t understand why the dps drops so quicly if i move for 5 seconds!!! i will try this manually and in the end i will buy a gaming mouse!! ty once again - you are doing a great job mate!!!

hey man great macro i love it but for some reason i cant get ctrl to work i press it hold it down doesnt do anything it just stops the macro on the page im on the alt mod key works fantastic when i want it to dont no whats wrong could use a little help kinda new to swap bar

Probable Answer: It is likely a default Blizzard Key Binding causing you grief.
Solution: Unbind any Blizzard Key Bindings that use the CTRL key.

I just like to say wow this bar swap macro are sweet took me some time to set up but just wow im fill 620 pvp geared now in just 7 hours play time after hitting lvl 100 just like to say thank you

First of all, amazing job!!!
but i have 1 problem… Im using claws of shirvallah talent. When im standing in place it is casting healing touch, so i need to be in constant move to avoid this step. When im moving and spaming macro it works flawles. Hope u got a solution for this.

THX in advance for your reply

Some of the WeakAura code was cut off in the original post. Just updating with the whole code. No credit to me for the code.

Just tested the macro and running into the same issue. Ended up just disabling the Ui for now till I can figure out why it’s not working.

Just came back to my druid and without changing anything the whole Macro works perfectly now, everything is firing off, the mods work fine and ElvUi is not giving me trouble, even got it working for Shaman.

I really like your set up Sethadon, but I’m still a ham-handed 86 level newb. Currently I’m using Pawketts WeakAuras (Fluid Druid), IceHUD, and Elvui while I level up, but I’m keeping my eyes open to possibilities.

Please allow me a few stupid questions:
Why are you changing your bars? why not use the automatic stance bar changes inherent in the wow interface without paging?
And why do none of the rotation protocols I’ve seen suggest that after the initial 30 seconds of Incarnation buff you might go into successive prowls to buff your rakes and shreds until incarnation becomes available again?

Thick as a brick, Kethwee.

Sethadon
since before cata i have loved my Boomkin but now with the changes my DPS has taken a nosedive and i find even levelling a chore as i am just too squishy. But now with your Macro’s and Smokenz help sorting it for GS i cannot remember having so much fun in-game. Many thanks to both of you.

Les

First off ty Sethadon for making a great macro. Also I wanna thank Smokenz for making it into a GS as that is what I use. TYTYTYTYTY
