Gnome Sequencer for Idiots - Ask and you will be answered

Still, thank you for your reply ^^
(I do not use bars, all the GSE made macros are embedded in Clique using global keybinds)

I have some questions on GSE Sequence Debugger.

Is there some way to tell which spell in a castsequence is being cast?

What does “Not able to cast” in red mean? I get this on presses that result in a spell being cast and those that don’t.

Castsequence no - this is evaluated by WoW at execution and I cannot see what it will be before hand. You would need to marry up your combat log with the debug log.

Not able to cast means that - it was not able to cast the spell. This will be usually be for one of the other reason listed if not I would look at things like movement.

since bfa i cannot get my trinkets to use on CD, i have tried /use 14 in keypress, premacro, sequence, keyrelease, and post macro, non seem to work. do you know how to fix this?

Update to 2.3.07 and you now can.

In GSE you have nevwr been able to go /use x. It’s always been via the tick boxes before this.

Ive been browsing macros. and I am totally confused… the scripts are just a bunch of text… not the the format I’m familiar with. no idea how to use the text given. for example:

what do I do with this?

thanks for any help.

You take that and copy it, go to GSE in game and hit the import key, then paste that into the box and press import. You then edit, test and use the macro to your hearts desire.

hello, unfortunately to date gse is not working at all well. there are many precision problems in the addon.
known issues:

  1. often skips the spells, currently the normal sequence seems to be unique worked a little better, while priority doesn’t work and doesn’t do what you write.
  2. Press keypress post march etc. do not seem to do their duty.
  3. often with a macro you have to delete it and re-import it from 0 to skip some bugs.

I’m noticing several problems with my bm hunter class.
I hope you fix these serious problems because it’s unplayable.

With respect, it sounds like you haven’t paid attention to the changes that are required for BfA or have old macros. I don’t have any of the problems you are experiencing. I’m running mythics in both a BM Hunter and prot and Ret Pally and if anything’s it’s more consistent and smoother. I’m now levelling a Frost mage and it’s working as expected.

KeyPress and PreMacro all fire as they are supposed to WHEN you put the right things in there. If you put a GCD ability in keyPress it’s going to prevent the rest of your macro working. A whole lot of abilities that were previously not on the GCD are now on it. This affects some classes more than others. For a frost mage for example two of the cooldown that used to be in keyPress now have to be in the macro body. This means you need to pay a lot of attention as to what you put where.

I could not disagree with you more. GSE is working just as well as it ever did and even works better than before on well crafted macros. “Skipping spells” has always been a part of GSE that are not inside of a castsequence, that is just the nature of the beast and is to be expected with how fast we are firing the macros off. The keypress functions are working perfectly fine but may not appear to do so if you are using a global cooldown spell…works perfect for non GCD spells.

And if using GSE is unplayable to you…you always have the option to play the toon yourself.

I for-one can’t thank TL enough for this amazing addon. I used to use bots and even lost my original account. Trust me, this addon is the next best thing to using a paid rotation bot. You have to use this knowing that there are certain limitations that this addon can acheive. If you can use these macros and get 80%+ parses in raids…you are doing much better than a large percentage of people out there.

ok then you are saying that you didn’t have any problems with macros?
I play hunter beast mastery game one of the easiest classes to create with macros, but the difference from legion is remarkable.
For example you are telling me that :
) gdc must be put in premacro to work?
2) If I write /castsequence kill command, cobra shot, cobra shot the macro will always do the one in both sequential and priority list?
3) macros don’t work without setting mouse or keyboard clik speed, I press them manually?

my current problem is, that I can’t make the macro go as I would.

I write under my macro and if you can kindly tell me where the errors are I would be grateful, thank you in advance.

classe : hunter bm

sequenza macro = priority list

keypress premacro
/targetenemy [noharm][dead] /cast dire beast
/petattack

sequence:
/cast a murder of crow
/cast chimera shot
/cast barbed shot
/cassequence kill command, cobra shot, cobra shot

Here’s a summary of the macro,
as you can see using priority list the macro should always guarantee me just off gdc flock of ravens shooting the chimera and lacerating shooting right?
and then continue with the sequence.
often instead or freezes or does not use the spells so where is the problem?

Any chance you could give me the actual export from GSE so I can import what you have?

Depending on if Dire Beast is in PreMacro or KeyPress which I can’t tell from the way this is formatted will have a big difference to your macro. If it’s in KeyPress it will lock up the rest of your macro. If it’s in a PreMacro as you have no inner loop limit it will only fire Once for the entire time you are in combat.

As to the rest you need to look at /Gs debug while you are using your macro. This will tell you Why things are doing what they are doing. If something is being skipped when you are pressing manually this will tell you exactly why it was skipped.

GSE can’t act on if something worked or not. It never has been able to. It will only send the command to WoW every time you press the button. Most of the BM macros that I have seen operate on the presumption that you are sending 10 clicks a second to the server and as a result it will not move sequentially throughZ

If you are clicking manually Priority is not your friend. Why? Because of how it works. It uses mathematical probability to simulate Priority as you can’t do true Priority within the limitations imposed on mods and macros in combat. It means that line 1 will will be tried 7 times before line 7 is tried once. It can only tell if something is available by trying to use it.

However in Priority first click will be line 1. Second click will be line 1, third click will be line 2, forth click will be line 1, fifth click will be line 2, sixth click will be line 3, seventh click will be line 1 etc.

If you are clicking manually the you second click will automatically fail so that it can skip to line 2. Most likely you will still be in the GCD window so like 2 will fail so you click again and you are back to line 1 which is on cooldown so you’re next click again is line 2 and off you go.

The other thing to consider is that your cast sequence will only be considered every 10th click. And then I’d kill command didn’t work, 10 flicks later it will look at that again and if kill command didn’t work it will in 10 clicks time try kill command again. It may never get to cobra shot. Castsequence in BfA has gotten even more quirky and unreliable. It was only added back into the game late in Beta and if you are in a cross server group the lag from that is enough to break Castsequence. This isn’t a GSE fault this is a WoW fault that you can verify by using a normal Castsequence macro in a LDB group.

TLDR: Bottom line if you want to fix this change your Castsequence to multiple cast lines andd sit down in front of a target in my with /Gs debug. Watch what happens and adjust your macro accordingly. No one will be able to magic fix it for you unless they are trying to use your macro with exactly the same gear and press the buttons in exactly the same way

spell aspect of wild and blood fury use manual macro separate`

have imok I imported the macro as an example, it is not definitive, but I wanted to point out some things:
Gcd bestial wrath and a murder of croes in premacro, it only works bestial wrath.
bestial wrath however uses it even if in the main sequence it isn’t put, while the Ravens don’t use them at all or sometimes they use them for no reason.

According to what you said you should start the sequence with chimera shot and barbed shot, and whenever you are gdc jump to the castsquence always.port macro

I may be asking a stupid question here, but is there a way to set up GSE so that I dont have to keep pressing 1 all the time? (the key assigned to the macro button)
I have used custom and macros made by others on the forums and I think the fact i’m pressing the key manually over and over is one of the reasons it is not working as well as it could be.

Hi Chris - Look into AutoHotKey and Razer Synapse and Punchkey. The which is better thing is a different conversation better answered by people who know about these things

thanks, gonna try punchkey. seems the simplest.
Really annoyed as i’ve just been completely out dps’d by a level 111 in a dungeon. same class and spec.

someone could tell me how to set speed by pressing mouse keys for macros, I see often written the line ms but I do not know how to do it

Hi,

Just tried to import a macro.

GSE asked for Merge, and I chose to rename, just added to the macro name _SEP01 and got this:
