Grizzly Hermit v5.2.3 Updated 10/28

You can set the keybind to whatever you wish I have mine as 2 and 3. And while it doesn’t show anything with GSE there is supposedly a WA that does. You can check out Oaks channel (one of his videos was linked higher in the thread) as I think he covers it. If not you can try discord.

I prefer not seeing it so I didn’t look into it.

Nice ok will check it out thanks alot, just another question any macro with more than 255 characters is pretty much broken right.

@Hermit . So have 4 x 3 chests today using this in 8s. Dungeons seem ridiculously easy, though- stuff is dying crazy fast on a fort week doing big pulls- and I need almost no supplemental healing. If you can get moonfire in the AoE somehow would be great. Could just tab thru and would automatically apply to a new target. Dunno what that would do to the flow, though- if anything. Not going to be raiding until TWW because I already have 6 pieces of bullion gear so someone else will need to comment on those experiences. Happy with it the way it is, though, if you can’t weave moonfire in somehow.

A normal macro can’t.

With GSE now each block is limited to 255 characters, which does mean you have to trim some fat when it comes to things like alt modifiers as they can eat up a lot of the macro. The macro itself however is not limited as you can add an additional block to it.

I attempted to do that with a line that would cast moonfire on new target but it seems that is broken at the moment. If it was broken on Blizz side it might be intentionally gone. I tend to cast it manually myself on aoe pulls. St though it should now keep it up.

Appreciate that you tried to weave in moonfire. Will have to see what things look like after the dust settles once TWW launches and what workarounds might be available. Have 10 mythic plus in the books this week and am 3 chesting 9s with this build. Have only had 2 out of 10 2 chests. This is an excellent macro.

Yeah I tested tonight as well. three chested one +10 and one chested the other.

It seems to work pretty good though I might need to see if I can get better uptime on thrash. Not sure how your groups went but I had people opening up with 2 million burst dps and I was loosing threat on about half the pulls if not more. The other run was smooth as normal so it might be a dps need to wait thing. Despite doing 260K overall I was still only doing about 1/3 the dps as the top two guys.

I planned to upload the video to youtube but I’m having trouble getting the correct aspect ratio… I forgot how much I hate trying to export and upload things.

Same- with the talent changes for other classes I am losing aggro here and there- didn’t happen until this pre-release, though. My bear has/had the best aggro control in the game compared to other tanks I play. It’s on the dps classes to control their bursts until we have the mobs corralled, though. People are just excited that they have higher dps for some classes, I think. Places like AA on the tree trash pull I get several red bars on plater and have to tab thru and growl. You’re doing a great job- early days- it will come together as we get closer to the release date.

Yeah the trash on AA tree was nuts I swear half of them made a bee line for the hunter. Not sure how the healer kept him up honestly but I’m glad I had a poison dispel for him.

I’m pretty sure the video is almost done rendering. I’ll probably be able to have it linked by this afternoon and than I can go through and watch what needs work yet.

Hermit, the macro should work just as well if we take Galactic Guardian and Twin moonfire instead of Flashing Claws as you have in your talent setup right ?

I will let Hermit answer- but you should run some dungeons with the current macro. Finishing off my horde guardian- and from 522- 525 have done 15 dungeons 8/9- 3 chested all but 2. Survivability is crazy good. I was running the twin moonfire build on my 528 alliance guardian prepatch- and it is squishy compared to this build. More dps- yes. Typhoon to pop after using Ursol’s Vortex- yes. But I wasn’t moving through dungeons consistently 3 chesting 9s like I am now. If you don’t have to worry about survivability and healing yourself you can move WAY faster through content. YMMV.

yeah i get you matey, thank you for the feedback  much appreciated

Yup pretty much what Reiki said. It can work with the moonfire build but you need to manually moonfire. You will do more damage (and probably have less threat issues than I did in the video) but you won’t be able to pull nearly as large as I was pulling in the video. And honestly those where small pulls I should have pulled all three packs before Vex because its clear people saved CD’s and I should have grabbed all the trash past the bridge going to the last boss. I just wasn’t used to having 2 dps pushing 2 million dps and it threw off my pulls and CD usage.

You can change up some talents on the class tree side. For example I’ve been dropping the two points in Lore of the grove to pick up typhoon and Ursines Vigor (although that could really be anything I just grabbed it for craw’s first bleed.)

Attempted some changes for better thrash uptime but it resulted in lower dps overall. I think its about as good as I can get it before TWW.

Just curious why you have moved Barkskin to an auto cast with your rewrite / take over?
I am adding in the Shift for FR and alt for Incap roar now. I see what you mean about space in the macros. Also curious why you used a no:mod alt on the Bear form “/cast [noform:1, nomod:alt, nochanneling] Bear Form” as I didn’t notice an existing mod alt in the macro.

Thank you for taking over this script, Viktri’s one button was my favorite M+ bear macro for ages. Glad you took over.

Pretty sure BS always was in the original. If not I made that change in the original version of my own about a year and a half ago. BS has a ton of uptime so I like it used on CD, I can than fill gaps when I see it off CD with something else.

With the reduced uptime and it moving to a 40% DR with talents I can see perhaps a need for it being removed, I’m waiting to see TWW live before making that decision.

This was a hold over from a previous version, and needs to be removed. I thought I had gotten them but I must have grabbed a previous version at some point in a capoy and paste without noticing.

I attempted the test on nesting GSE inside a different macro but it needs an entirely different template. I’ll have to look about how to do this but it may not be possible with the macro as it currently stands.

No worries at some point someone else may need to take over for me as well but I think I’ll be playing bear as a main for a long time.

New version with FR on alt mod and cleaned up some of the code. Feel free to test this weekend.

Ok so this is a complete rewrite and uses a full looping priority list. It should greatly increase thrash uptime for better threat and dps but requires some testing. If it works better I’ll rewrite the ST as well.

Can I create an icon in the macro menu and put it in the skill window like before without setting it as a keybinding?

I don’t think so at least not the way I’m using it here, as it doesn’t create anything to see.

If I can get nesting macros to work than yes you would be able to do that.

Pushing GH AOE 2.0.3 through. Tested and its working better than the previous version.

In testing was about a 20% dps increase, better thrash uptime and now has FR on alt mod.

GH ST 2.0.3 will need to wait because the uptime on Moonfire is off now.

Wow, been following the general macro since s3, this thing is fire

look so good! I am trying GH AOE 2.0.3 at 0.25s and go very well
