Overview
This macro was built from the ground up for Midnight Season 1 Raiding, specifically tuned around the Druid of the Claw hero talent tree with Red Moon. It is the companion piece to my Mythic+ Elune’s Chosen macro. The focus is on maximum Ironfur uptime, consistent Red Moon extension through Mangle, and reliable cooldown cycling across a full boss encounter.
Key design goals:
Ironfur fires on every single keypress - armor stacking is never sacrificed
Red Moon fires in two dedicated blocks per loop for maximum debuff uptime
Sequences use reset=targetinstead ofreset=combat- no slowdown on sustained pulls
Important - reset=targetWarning: Because sequences reset on every new target, be careful where you aim. If your camera or cursor passes over a mob you didn’t intend to engage, the/targetenemyline may pull something you didn’t want.
Recommendations:
- In crowded areas or near neutral NPCs, pause the macro rather than holding it down while repositioning
- Use Growl manually to snap aggro back if something gets pulled unexpectedly
Trinkets are not included since they are very fluid
Modifier keys keep defensives accessible without breaking flow
Incapacitating Roar is removed - bosses are immune. It remains in the Mythic+ version.

Modifier Keys
| Key | Action |

Frenzied Regeneration - press before taking big hits |
Survival Instincts is intentionally left out of the macro - bind it manually for precise control during dangerous mechanics.
Macro Structure Explained
| Block | Repeat | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Action 1 | 1 | Pull opener - Bear Form, Red Moon, Moonfire, Mangle, Thrash |
| Action 2 | 3 | Core rotation - Mangle + Thrash with Ironfur every press |
| Action 3 | 2 | Red Moon mid-loop + Mangle with Ironfur |
| Action 4 | 2 | Lunar Beam + Mangle + Thrash with Ironfur |
| Action 5 | 2 | Mangle with Ironfur |
| Action 6 | 1 | Incarnation: Guardian of Ursoc + Wild Guardian |
| Action 7 | 1 | Barkskin + Mangle with Ironfur |
Why Raze and Ravage are not automated
This is an important design decision that deserves a direct explanation.
Raze and Ravage both cost 40 rage to cast. Ironfur also costs rage and fires off the GCD on every single keypress. In testing across multiple macro versions, every attempt to automate Raze inside GSE resulted in one of two outcomes: either Ironfur consumed the available rage first and Raze silently failed, or removing Ironfur from the same block to give Raze a clean shot at rage created 1-2 second GCD pauses that hurt overall performance more than Raze was worth.
The GSE framework does not have access to your current rage value. It cannot check whether you have 40 rage before attempting Raze. This means automating a rage-gated spender alongside a competing rage spender is structurally unreliable in GSE regardless of block ordering.
In testing at current gear levels, maintaining high Ironfur uptime produced better survival outcomes than attempting to automate Raze. However, Raze is a meaningful damage contributor and should be treated as a manual spender - bind it to an easy key and press it when rage is available. When Ravage procs, it automatically replaces Raze on the same button and should always be consumed immediately as it costs no additional rage. Note that the Harnessed Rage talent’s increased Gore proc rate when casting above 80 rage has been reported as inconsistent in Midnight 12.0 and should not be relied upon as a primary optimization target.
WORK IN PROGRESS - I am actively developing a version of this macro that reliably automates Raze and Ravage without sacrificing Ironfur uptime. When that version is validated, it will be posted as an update to this thread. Watch this post for updates.
Setup & Usage Tips
- Import the macro string into GSE
- Import the talent string in-game via the Talents panel
- Drag the macro to your action bar and bind it to a key
- Bind Raze to a separate key and press it manually when rage is available
- Bind Survival Instincts manually for emergency mechanics
Heart of the Wild - Manual Use Only: Heart of the Wild is in the talent build but not fired by the macro. In Midnight, catweaving is a DPS loss and staying in Bear Form is the correct play. The value of Heart of the Wild is the single target DoT it applies. Use it manually during safe windows between mechanics when you can afford the global. Bind it to an easy key and use it when the opportunity presents itself.
Red Moon - What it does: Red Moon replaces Moonfire as a 30-second cooldown DoT. Every Mangle cast while Red Moon is active extends the debuff and generates bonus rage. This is why Mangle is the #1 priority in this build - it extends the debuff, generates rage, and feeds the entire damage profile through Ravage procs and Vicious Brambles.
Validated Performance - Patch 12.0.1
Tested at ilvl 241, validated across two full LFR runs with multiple bosses and raid target dummies.
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Ironfur Uptime | 86-95% |
| Thrash Uptime | 96-98% |
| Mangle CPM | 14-17 |
| Red Moon Casts | 8-27 per session |
| Sustained DPS | 14.5-18k |
| Deaths | 1 (boss mechanic - not survivability failure) |
