MM BfA 8.1.5 - ST and AOE with Theorycrafting [UPDATED: 05/03/2019]

I checked this macro on the firstpage yesterday and I figured out in warcraftlogs that I am to often full Focus. My keyboardmacrotime is 100ms. This was my best against training dummy. I wasted 11% of the time in Focus Cap. Also that I use 39 Arcane Shot and Top Players use 61 Arcane Shot against same Boss Grong Heroic in a 3 min fight. We both have above 410 ILVL. Could we or I improve the macro Singetarget a tiny bit? I want my legendary parses on Heroic Bosses. My DPS overall was around 22k and Top Players do around 27k.

Hello i love this macro for my hunter it really helps alot but im trying to learn how to edit or make macros and i was wondering how would/could i edit this macro to make my hunters mark and double tap not part of the macro so i can choose when to cast them myself . thank you so much for any feed back have a great day

Type /gs and open the macro (right click it), then edit it in the numbered tabs. You can add/remove whatever you want. Don’t forget to hit the save button after any edition.

I have been submitted to a heart surgery on last 02/21 and I’m still recovering from it, so I haven’t played lately. I’ll check this as soon as I can and see if something changed lately. The actual macro was tested in past patches and it was working very optimized in terms of focus, never starving or staying full at any time. So, I’ll check this soon, don’t worry.

So tried it out, work like a champ and I became a LFR hero. Did remove Trueshot and Hunters Mark.
Rotation before starting macro: Hunters Mark, Double Tap, Flask 4s before pull, Aimed Shot 2s before pull, Rapid Fire, Trueshot and then smash macro.

Great! That’s the way to do it. I prefer these two abilities out of macro for better controlling, but in most fast heroic fight situations it shines as soon as they are off cd (Trueshot).
BTW, nice to see that this macro is still rock and rolling for players.

thank you for this macro, its really nice. Only tiny changes I use in marco is talent. Switched from lock and load to Calling the shots. Since Lock and load is dps loss so Calling the shots is better dps gains.

but again, nice job on this macro though! Im 405 ilvl 9/9 Heroic BoD and 2/2 Heroic CoS.

What time did you use to shoot the macro? I went BoD Heroic and my Parse was horrible. Grey everywhere in the range of 10-20.

You’re right. There are some new changes to the spec in at least 2 talents used, making significant impact in the macro rotation. I’ll make changes to the macro to reflect it.

I read about the 100ms and tried out different settings but for me it does not make much of a difference. My Ingame latency is at 15ms so I tried going lower, but I can’t see a change. Anyway, my post came across rude, I am sorry for that. Thanks for your great work and the Macro definitely works!

I tried the new version with two different latencies (50ms and 100ms for 3min on Target Dummy). My Hunter is iLvL 396 and these are my results:

50ms 3min:
DPS: 16.400
Aimed Shot: 25
Arcane Shot: 45
Rapid Fire: 11
Steady Shot: 25

100ms 3min:
DPS: 16.000
Aimed Shot: 22
Arcane Shot: 48
Rapid Fire: 11
Steady Shot: 24

Raidbots Simming Results:
DPS: 18395.1
Aimed Shot: 25
Arcane Shot: 50.9
Rapid Fire: 15
Steady Shot: 20.7

I think I had better results with the version before, but sadly I have overwritten it. ~2000 DPS Difference from Raidbots DPS, could be my latency or maybe 3min is to short of a time frame. I will make further tests.

Hey, thanks for answering. I read about the 100ms and tried out different settings but for me it does not make much of a difference.

Thank you very much on testing this. Talking about the button press speed is a bit controversial, since that a human can’t press them as fast as these scripts does, so my testings are done mainly by observation. If you keep attention to the button used to activate this macro, you’ll see if the abilities are going smoothly or if some are being skipped by the fast pressing. So the advice here is to pay attention on that and configure your AHK script according. In my testings, I’ve found that 100ms is the speed that it doesn’t skip the abilities or at least skip less than other speeds used. Just for info., my latency is always between 170-200ms (Brazil).
That being said, one more thing: these macros are intended to be as close as possible to player iterations, but it’s not possible to be perfect as raidbot or simulationcraft simulations says. That’s why it’s certain you’ll never do the same amount of damage as if you were doing it normally with no macros.
