Mob's Subtlety Rogue Trickster - 3-Button Build/Spender, Patch 11.2: 10/20/2025

Hey Everyone. My name is Mob and this is my first GSE macro build

I put together a 3-button setup for Subtlety Rogue with Trickster hero spec for Mythic+ and wanted to share it with you all.

The Setup:

This uses a Build/Spend system instead of a single-button spam macro:

Button 1: BUILDER

• Generates combo points

• Spam this constantly

• Uses: Shadowstrike, Backstab, Shuriken Storm

Button 2: SPENDER (Single Target)

• Spends combo points and fires cooldowns

• Press at 5-6 combo points

• Uses: Secret Technique, Eviscerate, Coup de Grace, Rupture, etc.

• For bosses and single-target situations

Button 3: SPENDER (AoE)

• Same as ST Spender but uses Black Powder for AoE

• Press at 5-6 combo points

• For trash packs and multi-target (4+ enemies)

I went with a 2-button build/spend system (with separate ST/AoE spenders) because you control when to spend combo points.

Keybind the builder to a key and use this to build combo points. Keybind the ST_Spender and the AOE_Spender to two separate buttons so you can choose which spender depending on the amount of mobs around.

Cooldowns fire automatically when you press Spender and they’re available.

Cooldowns (Flagellation, Shadow Blades, Symbols of Death, Shadow Dance) fire automatically when you press Spender and they’re off cooldown.

Follows the Mythic+ Trickster rotation from Wowhead’s guide

The macros use flat Sequential loops with conditionals doing the priority work. This prevents the duplicate action explosion you get with nested Priority loops and gives you more control over your rotation.

I have only tested this on dummies and tbh, my Rogue’s ilvl is very low. Please test and give some feedback or issues that may be occurring. I would appreciate it.

I’m sure I am doing something wrong. I use Bartender and am using the actionbar overide to assign to the keys 1-3. I continue to get the GSE icon on the keys and when a skill icon does show up, it does not attack, just cycles to the next icon or back to the GSE icon. I have toggled off the ActionButtonUseDown setting.

What might be going on?

Hey, make sure to toggle on the actuonbuttonusedown setting. keep that checked. Unless you need this for bartender to work, but you shouldn’t now that I think about it.

So, when using keybinding inside of GSE if you have something assigned to that button it, will override it, for example if use GSE keybinding to keybind your builder to R and lets say your potion (this is just an example) is hotkeyed to R on your bar. it will remove the R from your bar and your potion will no longer be bound to R but the GSE macro is. You will not need to add anything to your bar as GSE is now the primary key for this. See some screenshots below:

For example in this screenshot. See that stealth is on my button 1, flagellation is 2, and shadow blades are 3.

Now when i put my builder on 1, st spender on 2, aoe spender on 3, you will notice on my bar that stealth, flag, and SB are still on my bar but the 1,2,3 keys are no longer tied to them as they are tied to GSEs built in keybinding.

you’ll notice the 1,2,3 are gone and are tied to the gse bindings.

in the last screenshot it shows flag and SB is on cooldown but thats part of the rotation. you could completely remove the buttons and it would still fire off as you see in my screenshot.

Is this meant. To be pit on your hotbar like previous gse?

Or can you just assign each macron to separate mouse buttons

You can directly assign it via the keybind in GSE. if you see the post right above this with my screenshots, it will show you the steps.

/gse > keybinds > pick the specific sequence and just bind the key. That specific key will now spam the sequence. You will need to bind 3 keys total. The buider, the st spender, the aoe spender.

yes, i do know how do it that way, SGC doesn his that way.

I do prefer to bind to my mouse and use the new gse method vs the old gse method.
