Just found out about all of this… lol. Finally watched the video.
I’ve been out of the scene for a while, building a game with my kids, which is a lot more fun than macro politics.
Here’s the boring truth on the ban. It came to me as “someone is using the forum to funnel people to another site.” That’s been a rule here for years, so I glanced at it, gave it a thumbs up and went back to what I was doing. I didn’t know who the guy was. Didn’t know he was an addon dev, didn’t know there was a competing addon involved at all. No conspiracy, I just wasn’t paying attention on my own site. That one’s on me.
The ban is lifted and the thread is back up.
Sataana / Jesper, sorry. You reached out privately and kept it civil, and you deserved a real look at this a lot sooner than you got one. I’m reaching out to sort it out properly and make it right.
Nobody was coordinating with me on any of it. The mod who handled it isn’t on the team anymore, and that’s all I’m going to say publicly.
As for everything else in that video: GRIP EMS is worth a look if you’re shopping around. And whatever addon you end up on, if it ships a companion app, go read what that app actually does on your machine before you install it. That’s the part that matters here, the rest is noise.
Updates to the site are going to take me a minute. WLM has always been a hobby, I don’t live for it, and I try to stay out of this stuff. Somehow it finds me anyway haha.
