Do I need to add execute? It won’t rage starve rotations?
Correct me if im wrong, but I always thought u had to choose between IP and Execute, because both will deplete rage completly if they can.
Honestly, from MT, I manually use Execute when necessary.
But if it’s going to harm IP and SB, it’s better not to add the rotation.
Exactly…
The use of Execute is situational, as a filler, even in Execute builds. Constant use can leave you without Rage for other important spells such as IP and SB, which should remain active longer.
as a test, I tried to use Execute a lot… it did indeed rage starve me. Healers weren’t happy with me at that moment. hehe
So i only try to use it when i’m a off-tank at that last 20% health. Or i skip it completely.
So no, just my opinion, don’t add execute to the sequence.
You could try to add a line with SBA. Just to check out how it works with this build, perhaps a dps increase in the end.?
(and I don’t use ravager, i choose Wirling Blade instead. One action less to do, and it procs a lot btw.)
I haven’t had a ton of luck with single button assistance. It does the right thing usually but sometimes it just absolutely does the wrong thing so it’s kind of a toss-up. Factoring the added latency and if it gets hit enough it’s going to affect just about everything else firing properly.
SBA its crap for tanks in general only success ive had is blood dk managed to tank 8/8 heroics and 10 mythic+ using it i still use Hekili for defensive stuff
I tried to include Execute somewhere, but in all cases, it consumes too much rage and I was destroyed by mobs by staying without high IP uptime
There might be a chance to make some mod:alt Execute with a weakaura that tells you when you have more than 70 rage, but it’s just an idea.
Right now, I’ve removed all Execute talents from the wowhead suggested build and instead put them into rend/deep wounds passives and I’m easily able to tank 12-13s with 690 ilvl with 80% dps parses. Maybe they will be much higher but execute will be needed
maybe add another version where it leaves out IP and only does Execute. in situations where u dont need the defense to tank. for example put on button 1 the tank one and on button 2 the offtank/dps one would be nice.
That’s why the WLM forum is good; the general experience is that it helps improve the creator’s macros.
@Orbalisk I agree with most of my warrior friends, leave it out and we’ll do it manually.
Regarding the modifier, I already added that to the macro. In my case, I added it to [mod:lalt] Execute
instead of Ravager, since all warriors have been using the talent that procs constantly.
Yea, I’m going to work on that this week and get it out to everyone. Since Ravager is now basically automatic, Execute should definitely be on a modifier.
@Jeffz Can you share your Macro you currently use given you seem to have had sucess with it
This is just by using sudden death with 4 piece, its on modifier, only a few minute test but its free to cast using the talents leaned into Execute
yea execute is pretty nice, i piggybacked off the weakaura orbalisk made for druid and have it tell me to hold alt to activate execute when sudden death procs
I added /cast [known: thunder blast] thunder blast right above 2 blocks in the macro, i’ve just pasted them in the same block as demoralising shout as it has quite a long cd and above thunder clap, demo shout is still being used on cd as intended. With the 4-piece set bonus, Thunder Blast procs frequently, but since each cast takes 2 GCDs, using it as a modifier key hold ends up being a DPS loss if you’re trying to dump both charges consecutively. Instead, this setup lets it weave in automatically between your core abilities like Ignore Pain, Shield Slam, and so on. I tested it in a some +9 timed run last night and averaged 4.2-4.4 million DPS, while still maintaining Ignore Pain uptime at about 97% and Shield Slam at 100%. The original macro works very well overall, but Thunder Blast often sat unused for 3-4 GCDs in spots. I’ve also ditched Execute entirely without noticing any DPS drop, execute is great but on mod key the value on damage was inconsistent when extra revenge would be more than enough.
I’ll try to work on this over the weekend.
I’ve added it to, and i must say… i get more frequent Thunder Blasts overall. Dps looks like going up to, can also be that i got some upgrades, but still.
I’m going to be doing a once-over on several macros tomorrow morning
Alrighty, 3.5 is updated in the OP. Please let me know how it works for you. I also made sure Demoralizing Shout and Thunderous Roar fire off effectively.
work great in heroics and delves. dmg is WAY better than before. haven’t done m+ yet as this toon isn’t geared yet. huge fan of all your tank macros. they always work very well.
