Been testing the auto rotation thing, and some classes definitely do better than others, and some even have very grave mistakes on rotations. As an example, ret paladin auto rotation will use execution sentence but not WoA as a follow-up, meaning that you get everything screwed up.
If they’re not gonna make it use those 2 skills one after the other, they should at least let us take skills out of the auto rotation.
It needs work, a LOT of work.

I have used it in PTR too. Compared it to live and the DPS the same toon pulls. They pull REALLY similar in some classes, and some terrible. Going to kill GSE? Nah, not until the GCD penalty is removed and more is done to it. That…or they actually do remove GSE from being able to be used, which I don’t see for some time since it is just using the macro system.
Here’s my thoughts based on some quick testing in PTR (ignoring some obvious bugs):
Limitations of Blizzard’s 1 button rotation
- DPS rotation only (not useful for healers or tanks)
- Does not use trinkets or longer (> 1 min?) CDs
- Even if you manually hit a CD, there is no attempt to sync burst windows (i.e. burst inside execution sentence window for ret, inside xuen window for ww, etc)
Advantages of 1 button rotation:
- Accessibility - this is obviously the largest advantage, any dps sequence that is just published to be “good enough” for leveling and other non-endgame content can be replaced by this button.
- The same builds that GSE could optimize also benefit the most from Blizzard’s 1 button rotation (i.e. - ret pally, bm hunter)
- As a 1 button rotation, Blizzard’s function is better for classes that need to respond to procs/buffs (i.e. frost DKs, enhancement shamans)
Blizzard’s function is a perfect replacement for macros focused on providing accessibility for players in situations that prevent them from executing a basic dps rotation.
Blizzard’s function does not replace high quality GSE sequences that simplify player rotation but still keep them competitive in AOTC raids and 10+ keys. Blizzard’s function does not replace tanking and healing sequences.

The one class i’ve seen the auto rotation system MIGHT (and it’s a big maybe, I have to test a lot more) be superior to GSE, is affliction lock.
The class being mostly dot based helps a lot with it being ALMOST perfect. It also just makes you use a single CD manually, so I can see a surge in affli locks when it releases.
Pala does 40 something % less damage with the system than GSE, same as anything that uses haste as it’s main stat. The longer the fights the more DPS you lose as well.
Yeah, unless they retire the GCD handicap to the system (something they WONT do because then people will riot) it’s not gonna substitute GSE.
That, or they kill it entirely via API, which is also a possibility.

it dosent fire off trinkets and cooldowns by itself, but you can macro that your self

25% gcd penalty now, that’s a pretty big downside
Will be interesting to try it out, might actually be good on some classes/builds, the 25% penalty I can live with.. I am a LFR Hero lol, people might actually come up with new builds just for one button assistant (that works really well).. one more week and the madness begins 
Also, as someone that does LFR a lot I see many people in the ilvl 640+ range that does like 500k dps.. this assistant will improve their dps by a lot I think.. overall total LFR dps will increase
It would be interesting to have the source code of this function, who knows, it would be useful for the GSE in terms of improvements, who knows, in the future.
Trying out the new rotation assistant on live server ,so far i liked Feral, ret paladin no so much the gcd feels off, warrior tank was ok, fury was ok as well never tried arms.
Here is a good list, yes GSe not included. But I think it’s a good alternative for players with limitations who still want to enjoy Wow to the fullest.
I don’t know how it compares to GSE, as I have turned my back on Retail and am waiting for MOP Classic.
You should keep in mind that it’s still just a game, which some people tend to forget (retail).

well i see wow will be changeing the code to make it so GSE will not work . seems thats why they added this in game . with all the changes coming to add ons . its a matter of time before gse is unusable .. sucks but its true
Gse still fine to use, this new thing has alot of faults ive been using on different classes and its not great, feral seems to be ok, but tanks you need to use manually with Iron Fur for Druid Ignore Pain for warrior, fun class so far has been unholy the rotation is pretty good, fury was ok as well, ret paladin is meh, haven’t tried Pala tank yet or caster classes.
well i just tried it out with my ele shaman sequence, and found that in raid spec on single target it kept up ok, though i was using my cd’s manually when i should have just tested it as a standalone. Ele raid spec has been one of the most difficult sequences that i’d written so far, so I was very curious.
now on mythic spec, using my mythic sequence? i saw a drop of up to 30% in dps while using the sba instead of my sequence.
I’ve been seeing some random videos appearing over tiktok and youtube about the one button assist doing pretty well on some classes and people being more surprised by the numbers being pushed.
Of course not idea if the info is real. One video was a balance druid in a +17 using it and ending the dungeon with an overall dmg of 4mil dmg per second throughout the whole thing. So will be interesting to see what people can pull off and if some data can be used to apply to future sequences.
Who said that they will be changing the code to make GSE incompatible? I’d like some proof for those accusations.
they stated that add ons will be disabled once there replacement was in game . so to me thats saying hey we are adding this and taken this away … and they will give a couple of months before disableing any add ons … i think its coming when you tell me but its coming i hate that is it cause i like gse . but
Also someone made a weakaura that used blizzards single button and they hotfixed the game to break it within hours.. Might not be GSE but it shows that blizz doesnt want 3rd party to interact with their new system.

I am switching over to “SBA”, sure it might be less dps than some of the good sequences here.. but the QoL of not having to browse this forum for latest/best macros daily (I play all classes/specs).. that QoL is way more valuable for me than a bit more dps
