This sounds a lot like an issue someone else was having.
Check out this post for a possible explanation: https://wowlazymacros.com/forums/topic/shadow-priest-7-1-5-gse-2-0-2/page/5/#post-44250
Good luck! ???

Is there a talent build I should follow here. for it I seem that I have similar problems with the modifier key. However I’m even worse. Because besides going to the keybindings tab and making sure nothing is bound to CTRL + 1. I’m not sure were what to place on the action bar.
And yes I’m totally helpless in this stuff.
This macro should work with any talent combination, and I suggest mixing and matching talents based on YOUR play style. Having said that, here are some popular builds: http://www.wowpopular.com/Talents/Priest/Shadow.
Personally, I put the macro on Button1, Power Infusion on Button4, Surrender to Madness on Button5, and Dispersion on Button6. As well, I bind buttons 0 thru 9 to my NumPad. Essentially, this leaves me using my left hand to control my character’s movement (using keys: Q W E A S D), and my right hand to spam the macro, etc.
Cheers! ???

Thanks Sethadon for the explanation thusfar. My only problem is that the Ctrl and Alt don"t function as expected. I checked the keybinding tab but not sure of how set up the Ctrl+1 modifier to make shadow word:pain and VT fire off?
You just need to unbind any default bindings that use either CTRL or ALT.
The following post provides a step-by-step: How to Unbind default Key Bindings... - How To's - WoW Lazy Macros
Thank you sir!
Thanks so much for this macro. One question, since I’m pretty new to ShadowPriest when should I be using Power Infusion?
Always during Voidform (VF). The immediate 25% Haste bonus is exceptional, but where we truly benefit from this spell is when we extend Voidform to 40+ stacks. Given that PI lasts for 20 seconds, you will want to cast it at about 20 stacks.
Cheers! ???
@Sethadon I been using a cut down version of this macro for a bit now, dps was “good” as Im to lazy to bother with Ctrl & Alt keys, have returned to your macro again as I have now set up my Razer Tartarus with the modifiers and my DPS has vastly improved (855ilvl - 405K dps over 60 million damage) with zero down time. Priest was just an Alt but now Im maining it all thanks to you and your great work.
Big thank you & definitly a HP Macro

Thank you for getting back to me. I have another question for you… I randomly get some weird text come out in /say chat which I cannot make out. was wondering if it’s something within the WeakAuras you linked that has some foreign language text that appears when something happens. I’m trying to figure out when it’s doing it but I can’t seem to figure which WA code is doing it.
When in Voidform, Shadow Priests speak in the tongue of the Old Gods: World of Warcraft Forums
This could be what you are referring to.
Cheers! ???
Strange that I never saw this from other SP before.
Here’s what I was able to catch today in LFR EN

What did you do to get Ctrl and Alt working? I am Level 70 (does that matter?) and I checked to make sure key bindings aren’t bound to anything, but nothing happens when I press Ctrl it just keeps going through the rest of the macro without ever using SW or VT.
I simply followed the instructions listed here: How to Unbind default Key Bindings... - How To's - WoW Lazy Macros
Sorry in advance if this next question sounds insulting (that is not my intention - to insult you), but I have to ask: Are you pressing the Key Modifier while continuing to spam the macro? - Pressing the modifiers by themselves does nothing.
No problem, yes I am using my keyboard’s macro keys to spam it. I should also say that I have a few other macros that work fine, but all of those characters are 110. Could it be due to me not having the tier of talent yet that the modifier is tied to?
Oh ya, that’s ringin’ a bell now. Someone else had a similar problem. See this post for a possible workaround: https://wowlazymacros.com/forums/topic/shadow-priest-7-1-5-gse-2-0-2/page/6/#post-44393

Thanks, that did the trick!
Are you able to change the ALT and CTRL modifiers to another key? Like Mouse Button 4 or 5?

Me? Or in general? I wasn’t aware we could use mouse buttons as modifiers.
