Well this is interesting, your sequence doesn’t have SBA applying poisons in the rotation. Is there a trick you did somehow? I opened the sequence and there doesn’t seem to be an answer to why yours fixes the issue but it does on my end.
-Nvm it was just an oddity that it wasnt casting it on my end. Its doing the same sba behavior again.
This adds stopcasting after each sba command, as long as you have instant poison applied it seems to allow it to skip it a bit.
–Nvm its a crapshoot if SBA wants to poison spam or not. I can’t find a workaround to make it function in pvp.
I’ve never played a rogue, it’s always been somewhat interesting, but I’ve always been put off due to, you know, the presses per second or whatever you want to refer to it as. So what is the actual damage output of this sequence compared to the other builds that are out there?
I’ve been using this sequence since level 1, and I’m currently level 67, so I wanted to share some impressions for anyone else thinking about trying it out. Overall, it’s been a surprisingly relaxing playstyle.
That said, be aware that the build doesn’t really shine until around level 65. Before that, you’re definitely going to feel a bit underpowered. The early levels are pretty rough because the key talents that make the rotation flow just aren’t available yet. Once you unlock those talents, though, everything changes. The steady combo point generation and energy return make it feel amazing, very spam friendly in the best way.
After hitting level 60 and jumping into random dungeons, I’ve consistently found myself at the top of the DPS charts. I’m really excited to see how it performs at level 80 with some proper gear and eventually in the next expansion.
So far, big thumbs up. Once the build comes online, it really comes online.
One more thing I’ve noticed that really surprised me in a good way. Somehow, the creator set up the sequence so that when you’re in the middle of a big pack of mobs, it automatically fires off the proper AOE abilities, but when you’re fighting a single target, those AOE skills simply don’t go off. I have no idea how he managed that, and honestly I’m not going to dig into the sequence to find out. I’m just trusting that he knows exactly what he’s doing.
So far, that trust has paid off. It works smoothly, it feels smart, and I’m genuinely impressed.
People have Warband leveling at 25%, and now thereis the “Winds of Mysterious Fortune” that raises exp by 20%. I think that’s part of the Pre-Patch to get players ready for the Midnight release.
I wanted to share the method I’ve been using to level up quickly when timewalking isn’t available. For classic characters, you’ll naturally get from level 1 to 10 just by progressing through the starting area. After that, head to the Twilight Highlands zone and run the event boss encounters there. Repeating those gives very solid experience gains, especially if you’re using the XP buffs that others have mentioned.
You can also mix in some random dungeons. They are a bit slower now since Blizzard increased the difficulty, which slows down overall progression, but they are still worth doing occasionally for variety and extra experience.
Outside of that, the fastest method is definitely during timewalking weeks. Just run timewalking dungeons repeatedly and you will reach max level very quickly. The bags you earn have a high chance of containing the two hour XP boost potion, which speeds things up even more.
Hope this helps anyone looking to level efficiently.
Yeah, I am kind of kicking myself for deciding not to play Legion Remix. I got preoccupied with other things and ended up losing interest. I did miss out on getting some transmogs and other cosmetics, but it is not a huge issue. I played Legion when it originally released and maxed out all the reputations and everything back then, so it is not like I never experienced the content.
Still, part of me does feel annoyed with myself for choosing not to take part in the remix. It would have been nice to grab some of those rewards while they were available.
Anyway, the Rogue is now level 80. Time to pick up some proper gear and do some testing on target dummies to see how the damage looks. So far, it is not bad at all. You are definitely a bit gimped at lower levels when using this sequence while leveling, so that is something people need to keep in mind.
One thing I have noticed, and this is just personal preference, is that it helps to remove Shadowstep from the sequence and use it manually. There are bosses with platforms or odd positioning where Shadowstep will send you behind them and get you killed. It is very situational and depends on the encounter, and sometimes you do not want to Shadowstep straight into an AoE zone.
Just something worth considering while setting things up.
