The War Within - I hope to see a brighter future this community

I want to begin by acknowledging that the developers of this app are clearly not the reason for recent GSE changes brought on by The War Within. That being said, I cannot express how upset I am with the path this community has been forced down. I started my journey back in Warlords of Draenor when we used notepad to create and edit macro sequences, that felt so much easier compared to the current state of the addon. Legion, BFA and even Shadowlands were pretty straight forward and allowed for so many users without a technical skillset to create addons with minimal knowledge and experience. I have a lot of love a respect for the developers of this addon over the years because Iā€™ve seen so many others give up and stop supporting addons because of the API changes brought on nearly every expansion. I just hope to see a return to a simpler gui and ease of creating/editing macros. I have petitioned to Blizzard to take this community into consideration as this expansion has broken my spirits to create macros for those that truly couldnā€™t play the game without them.

They wont , they royally messed up with 99% addons using SABT / Macrotext.

But they gave us back some functionality with some limitations, and develeopers from many other addons aswell as Tim ( yes, GSE is 1 manned ) gave the best to bring back to funcionality 100%.

But not the main issue here.

I think youre having problems creating and editing macros, but im asking my selfā€¦ why is that?

Its same as before :

  • Import Macro
  • Edit Macro ( if you want )
  • Keybind your desired keys ( no more drag an drop icons )
  • Play

So im pretty sure you are discouraged, but everything is working 100% if not more lol

Womp womp. Its easy, people are just lazy and dont want to take the time to learn. It isnt hard, like in the least.

Lmaoā€¦ Iā€™m not debating either of those points just stating the fact its annoying but the ā€œwomp wompā€ tells me what I need to know.

lloskka, I appreciate you reaching out with a constructive response and some insight. I did find issue with the import but noticed it was generating a response for a previous version of GSE but Curse just pushed an update today that resolved that. Keybinds make sense to me but perhaps Iā€™ll message you directly with more specific questions if thatā€™s alright?
