Is there some kind of tier list or some list of classes which works best with the gse?
I’m looking for some inspiration for my next alt and want to make the initial learning of rotations a bit easier, so that why I’m asking
This is a good discussion to have. That way, we can plan out which charactrers to level up in the next Timewalking week or M+ playing.
Here are some of my experiences:
Beast Master hunter - there are plenty of macro creators and the macros are very close to sims and it’s super fun to play!
Fury/Arms warrior: just kill everything quick, super over the top fun to play, easy to spam 1 macro that does it all if you want! Truly the lazy class for DPS.
Havoc/Veng demon hunter - same as above, lots of macros to choose from and they all work great. It’s also super duper easy to do awesome DPS with and tank with!
Ret/Prot paladin - the macros are a bit more cumbersome (using mod keys) but they work great and produce incredible DPS and easy to play/do good with. So fun in AOE situations!
Frost/Unholy DK - again, good selection of macros here, and they all do very good. The DPS is insane, especially the AOE DPS! Fun to just spam 1 key and kill everything in your path!
WW Monk - not too many macros, but still get good performance out of them. Easy to just use 1 macro for single target/multi target fun!
THE WORST:
Feral Druid - I just cannot get any of the macros here to do “decent” DPS. It just feels so slow and lacking any fun and high damage. My least favorite melee to play with macros.
Evokers: Basically, the macros will assist you in playing this class. It won’t do everything for you. You will have to play manually at least half the time. Just the way the class is.
I’ve tested MW monk - works absolutely amazing, but for example as shadow priest I did almost 2x more damage with hekili.
Maybe warrior is the good point to try

Different macros work differently for each person.
For Me:
Ret Pally is the best by far.
Destro Lock is very good
Havoc is good right now
There was a very good feral macro in SL, but the current ones do not seem to work for me.
BM Hunter is fine. I am the third dps of our 3 hunters of similar ilvl, but depending on the fight top10.
WW monk is alright. I was able to complete a 4, but at 1M, I do not see myself succeeding in higher level keys.
I can not get Balance to be competitive with any of the current macros, back in SL there was a pretty good one.
I have never gotten any DK macro to be worthwhile
Guardian, Prot Pal, Prot War are often very strong
VDH has a good one now
Brew/DK seem to require more brainpower than I have

Waiting to see more replies, to see others experiences and whether they can recommend specific macros from creators which have worked well.
Oh yeah, I love @Orbalisk fury warrior, it’s a beast!

I’ll throw in my 2 cents
Feral - SCG works well even at low levels just have to modify spells
Bear - Dek mythic+ done delve 11 solo easy macro bear havent much as for a rotation but you need to do manual defensives
DK - Leena Blood dk profile works well
Warrior - Fury / protection - Orbalisk is only ones i’ve played with and work great, protection work at low level once you got Thunder Clap
Paladin - Pro/Ret Orbalisk again Ret is great but not for leveling but end game great. Protection is awesome at low level and end game
That’s it for me i’ve always played melee so have no experience when it comes to caster classes or ranged so would like to hear people’s opinion’s on those profiles as i would like to try them.

I like to monitor dps and make it as good as possible so for me what I’ve seen so far:
-ret paladin is really good
-BM hunter was harder but there are now some very good macros
-frost mage can be pretty good too
-havoc DH can also be made to work well
-fury warrior top tier too
-windwalker and mistweaver monks work well, surprisingly
On the other hand, I tried a lot with unholy DK but could never find a macro good enough for mythics. All warlock specs have been underwhelming based on my limited testing, balance druid wasn’t convincing either. Shaman is rough too.
Generally, spammy classes with few conditions and a priority system work the best. The worst will be classes with heavy conditions and especially procs on spells you can use anytime, but that get better with the proc. So the shaman procs are miserable to deal with, unholy DK has several rotations and the execute can be used anytime but is only worth it under 35%, so it’s guaranteed to be suboptimal in the macro.
Refreshing dots is also difficult to handle and the workarounds aren’t always practical.

Prot Warrior- KSM DF
Prot Pally-
OAKs versions of those specs are close behind.
Artemis for DH- KSM DF
Grizzly for Guardian
Forget who I used for DestroLock WW S1 for AOTC, possibly NXT
My issue with SCG’s macros is that they do not do the “standard” GSE route, but have a true macro which calls some spells, then their macro.
As someone who plays multiple specs of a class(dps and tank) it was very, very annoying to have chat spammed with errors about unlearned spells. I was not willing to add/remove the macro each time I switched specs.
I actually use one of their macros, but just the GSE component now.
I am trying one of Borlands Macros also.
I ran a couple keys with Elfyau’s WW monk macro for a successful 4, but the dps did not make me confident to move up to higher keys.
I have done 11 delves on all of the above specs pretty easily.
I am intrigued by the MW macro, but do not know enough about Mistweaver rotation to understand where the macro fits in. Tried an LFR with “just” the macro, and my HPS was terribad, and my dps was not good either. I think there might be some setup required.

@Elfyau has some really good macros as well. I’m currently levelling a WW monk and it’s working great, for anyone that’s interested in the spec. Just need to disable a couple of blocks until you unlock the spells.

Bear/prot warr awesome
Vdh feels alittle lacking but in works. Vdh has very few people making macro for but appreciate them all
