Unless they apply this to Previous âClassicâ Expansions, there will still be need for GSE.
If they donât get rid of Macros, I donât think it will be an issue. I am super new to this, and only a user not a creator. StillâŚit seems like they are basically making an in game nerfed version of something like GSE, like they did with WeakAuras. WeakAuras is still around after that.
GSE is far, far away from âperfectâ rotation. It fires whatever it wants, whenever it wants. Only a few classes are getting close to 95% SIm and thatâs ONLY if the macro is amazing. I will gladly take the 0.2 delay to get a perfect rotation. If they add this âone buttonâ rotation - BB GSE
Are there any macros for classic fresh? For Warriors.
Here are my initial reactions to Blizzardâs upcoming one-button rotation feature included in version 11.1.7:
Although Blizzardâs new rotation feature seems to replace tools like GSE the service wonât be discontinued. GSE retains many benefits including zero extra GCD penalty along with cast modifiers and multi-version macros while allowing deeper customization beyond built-in tool capabilities. The upcoming feature wonât extend to Classic games so GSE continues to be necessary for that version.
The Blizzard tool focuses primarily on accessibility instead of optimization. The tool works well for casual users but serious players will find significant advantages in GSEâs capabilities. The addition of basic UI tracking by Blizzard didnât lead to WeakAuras becoming obsolete and GSE will remain relevant for similar reasons.
Also, thereâs a potentially huge opportunity here: Should Blizzard release their one-button rotation code GSE developers could enable direct importing or copying into GSE without the 0.2s GCD penalty. This development holds the potential to revolutionize gameplay while delivering benefits to those who prioritize performance flexibility.
GSE will enter new possibilities instead of coming to its conclusion.
If the blizzard version does 85% of sim or better, itâs going to be a game changer but I think more likely itâs going to be in the 60% range. Itâll be better than the brand new player but wonât be anywhere near GSE.
If they make it operate in the 85 to 90% range, thatâll be good enough for a lot of people to not mess with anything external.
Without the delay:
- GCD = 1.5 seconds
- Time = 5 minutes = 300 seconds
- Number of abilities:3001.5=200 abilities1.5300â=200 abilities
With the +0.2s delay (1.7s total):
- GCD = 1.5 + 0.2 = 1.7 seconds
- Number of abilities:3001.7â176.47â176 abilities (rounded down)
Abilities lost:
200â176=24 fewer casts.
So from a perfect rotation we would be 12% lower with the small addition to the global cooldown which is still 88%, which is still better than many of the sequences for different classes.
Of course this all depends on a bunch of factors, and Iâll wait to see the final product before I assess how best to use it.
I just started testing on the 11.1.7 PTR. Cliffs: Itâs damn good!
More info: So, I tested so far on BM Hunter. It DOES NOT cast Blood Fury or Hunterâ s Mark.
AOE dps was amazing, probably 95+% of the Kephasâ macro. The Single target was slightly worse, about 85% of macros. I will continue to test.
Iâm very interested to see how a Feral Druid plays out, since itâs very difficult to macro them.
Edit: It also DOES NOT use trinkets.
GSE was and never will be a siming addon. Tim and good creators, tell people this all the time. If some one is simming , itâs because they know their class inside and out, and tweaking the sequence to their playstyle.
It will be a long time before Blizzard can replace WA.
The in built will take over for sure because of accessibility and other factors. Only certain class work well with GSE, others require alot of manual input just to achieve 70-80% sim.
Ironically the more complicated classes work well with the blizzard one button, such as aff lock as it reapplies dots and other rebuffs missing.
Although GSE doesnt have the 0.2 delay, it just simply outputs whatever is available.
Just keep in mind, that soon you will no longer be able to use certain addons.
And possible later i think all addon will be banned.
I hope it doesnât come to that
Has blizz outright said they are getting rid of addons they are making in house ones for?
I get the impression they are more wanting to make the option for people that donât want to use addons.
People are losing there heads over nothing cooldown manager came in 11.1.5 although helpful it still has a ways to go and they havenât gotten rid of any addons or stopped weak auras or anything building this accessibility into the games default UI looking at it logically only points me to one thing in the future⌠that a console port is on the way and you can choose to turn these features on n off at will without the need for external addons because the console companies would never allow it Iâm not saying its gonna happen next expansion or even by the end of this story ark but at some point in the future there more than likely will be, I seen it coming a mile off when they started adding controller support now its built in accessibility options next itâll be ready.

I think youâre right. Makes sense for Microsoft/Xbox and they recognize thereâs a reliance on certain addons which shows two things:
- Their game mechanics are not clear enough
- Their default UI elements donât give the required information clearly enough.
Areas that needed improvement, and with those will pave the way for a future where some players wont need to play with any addons at all (IE console players).
I hope and think addons will continue to exist for those of us that want the deeper customization, we just shouldnât need to rely on certain addons to fully enjoy the game at all levels of difficulty.
I highly doubt weâll see that happen. There are so many addons out there and all addons follow the rules. So they would need to change a lot of the rules in place and if they ban GSE, then they would have to also ban their own one button addon, as that would violate their own rules
But a lot of people are jumping the gun in terms of what is going to happen in the future.
