Weird Error Message: Interface/AddOns/GSE/API/Storage.lau:96

I have received this error message on my Hunter, (I actually received several others, but they were basically the same) this is just an example:

Interface/AddOns/GSE/API/Storage.lau:96: attempt to index local ‘uncompressedVersion’ (a nil value) There was an error processing MCT_PL_AoE, You will need to reimport this macro from another source.

I had created MCT_PL_AoE at one time, but I have since deleted it - pretty sure I deleted it since I can’t find the Sequence or Macro anywhere.

I have been told to try /gse cleanorphans to maybe correct this, I tried this and it does not change anything, the error message still occurs.

Any suggestions as to how to correct this?

This is driving me nuts…same thing here. I get a box saying my addons are experiencing a large number of errors blah blah slowing game down blah blah..I have turned off all addons except gse and its still popping up

it seems that whatever they did to hunters is causing alot of errors to pop up, in last 48 hours. i have seen 34 complaints about errors and people being on hunter.

The wife and I are both getting this error. Characters used have been, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior. We are both on the newest version.

If you are using TWW sequences. its time to give them up and either wait for creators to make Mid ones or DL the Mid ones that are out.

the first thing i did was look for those sequences in GSE and i dont have any of them. i only have the one i am using for the rogue at this moment in time. I have removed GSE completely from the addons folder. went into the WTF folder and removed GSE from there. re-downloaded GSE and i still get these errors from a fresh install. so i am not sure where those sequences are coming from.

TWW sequences?

No no — this isn’t a case of an outdated or unsupported sequence.

‘E’s not pinin’! ‘E’s passed on!
This sequence is no more.
It has ceased to be.
It has been deleted entirely.

It does not exist in:

  • /gse

  • the macro list

  • or any sequence I can find in-game

It is, by all reasonable measures, an ex-sequence.

And yet GSE is still attempting to process it and falling over with a nil reference
(uncompressedVersion in Storage.lua:96), which suggests some kind of orphaned or stale entry rather than an actively used TWW macro.

I’ve already tried /gse cleanorphans, but it doesn’t appear to be catching whatever reference is left behind.

So I’m not “using TWW sequences” — I’m dealing with GSE remembering a parrot that’s already left the building.

And that’s the problem.

Exact same issue im dealing with. The macros Im using now are Midnight macros. The macros GSE is listing the error with are macros that have long been deleted. Maybe my deletion method is flawed. I just open GSE , Click on sequences, Right click on the sequence I want to delete , select delete. Is this the correct way to delete?

I backed up my gse.lua file from _retail_/WTF/Account/<account name>/SavedVariables and then deleted every entry in the file that matched a sequence it was reporting an error with. If you want to try to save them, you can copy the compressed string and try to import it into GSE Builder - Visual Macro Sequence Editor but your mileage may vary depending on what version of GSE the original macro was created with. You’ll likely get a lot of errors from those sequences.

Example entry throwing errors:
["pala_heal_english"] = "d0JAiaWyi7cvszBIiomvZuvPUnLMnu9wkCtru9lr6BIqCAjTtPyVk7gL9d8tujXWuvPFRYafbdfKkdgPHlXbrvEgiXXqfhhvs1cHsTuujwSOQLJ4HGuEkXYGswhQK0evvLPcQjdftN0ffH0vbPkxw46sPnQQiBvePnlQSDvv1hbPQ(QiuttvjFxvrnsuPEUQmAqCxk6KGK(SOCnvvCEPALOQETQc)veLhNbVgotkoUNmiHJNSGLHxFqwdwdEsYDe5EdEnCg8eEiTES3GxdNbVgodEI1rKBskYFkGAWoeeNXc8klZeqXoC0Xa0lhGM0krBda)02xaOCGcGFA7lauoFnbUxIj8qA9yt0EjMyDe5MUgSg8eRJi3KuK)ua1aD28UAcO8(pyzvwgGcns7ZXeea)uK)ua1aD28UAcOgjuW9EqmbuSXJ3RYYa0lhGkTwBqa8tvNKfAWcBhqnyheNynnWeogta)uK)uaLFlMSWgmDI2lXeRJi3e4EjMWdP1JnDnqzWtSoICtsvNKfAWcBhqnyheNynnWeogta)uK)uafAK2NJjiaQOK6hXe4EjMWdP1Jnr7LyI1rKB6A(AWtSoICtsr(tbuJek4EpiMak3hEhqfih6JjAVetSoICtG7LycpKwp2018ZGNyDe5MKI8NcOgOZM3vtJeYDO2NjGY9H3buSBX)St(yI2lXeRJi3e4EjMWdP1JnDnjzWtGktdY)o(eSMa3lXeUeLW1jwhrUjPi)PaQb7qqCglWRSmta97AgefqVCa6F(Nzt0EjMyDe5MUMezWtSoICtsvNKfAWcBhqnyheNynnWeogta)uK)uaLB3AdcGE5a0etCfYeTxIjwhrUjW9smHhsRhB6e4EjM89DLjCjkHRRbRjIgLp1YqA9ytGos9ivTpDnyn4jwhrUjPi)PaQb6S5D1eqnsqDswOMa6F1)RSaqHpCCa)uK)ua1aD28UAcOgjuW9EqmbuSXJ3RYYa0lhGkTwBqa8tr(tbud0zZ7QjGAKqb37bXeqXgpEVkldqVCaAIRmnia(Pi)PaQb6S5D1eqnsOG79GycOyJhVxLLbOxoaLxR2Aza(Pi)PaQb6S5D1eqnsOG79GycOyJhVxLLbOxoavkKkldWFcCVet4H06XMO9smX6iYnDnqzWRHZGNyDe5MKI8NcOgSdbXzSaVYYmbuSdhDma9YbOjTs02yI2lXeRJi3e4EjMWdP1JnDnyn4jwhrUjPQtYcnyHTdOgSdItSMgychJjGFkYFkGYVftwydMobUxIj8qA9yt0EjMyDe5MUgOm4jwhrUjPQtYcnyHTdOgSdItSMgychJjGFkYFkGcns7ZXeeavus9JycCVet4H06XMO9smX6iYnDnFn4jqLPb5FhFcwt0EjMyDe5MyDe5MKI8NcOgjK7qTptaL7dVdOcKd9Xe4EjMWdP1JnDn)m4jqLPb5FhFcwtG7LycxIs46eTxIjwhrUjwhrUjPi)PaQb7qqCglWRSmta97AgefqVCa6F(Nztxtsg8eRJi3Ku1jzHgSW2bud2bXjwtdmHJXeWpf5pfq52T2GaOxoanXexHmbUxIj8qA9yt0EjMyDe5MoHlrjCDnCMa3lXKVVRmr0O8PwgsRhBc0rQhPQ9PR5RbVgodEI1rKBskYFkGAGoBExnbuUp8oGcDK6ZobUxIj8qA9yt0EjMyDe5MobUxIjFFxzcxIs46AGYerJYNAziTESjsW1BdMwD8PtNavw(2kUMuNu984XBWtG2zZ76WE60PtsC4FWRL4VbpDY3(tHEfmUgyMG1Vy9fhoCscNV(93F(zsYd1)ZvFWt4oWl4v2htGOA5XvttXuFOJGHRLLLM9Iwwvdmt41QqoYeUp8oI45ZomVjqFjrtAqE1JTgOGfNezsYDwRJdvMgK)dMwp2WEsJBJjfh3tgKWXtwWYWRpit4oWlt4aO41mi6Zwvia(t(lY5T46A4mrkbcQ)TMK8ZeyUc0wdho)(7V)mjrz5ockG2zlU65R4vTpSNoD6ga",
