Sorry, just started monking today and am reading guides.
Is there not an upside to having a ST macro and an AOE macro? Are they so similar that it doesn’t really matter?

There isn’t really a ST build for mistweaver, as any damage you do from your normal attacks are converted to healing and amplified by your cooldowns and hot interactions.
in the past, raid builds tended to focus more on HOT uptime and almost entirely ignored damage to healing playstyles. These days many do both.
Thank you so much Wenlo for your hard work on these sequences. I physically could not play monk without your sequences and its so much appreciated.
I have not had any problems until the last couple of days. With the no apex healing (III) build, everything fires off except the last part with Tiger Palm and Blackout Kick. It does not cast them at all. I didn’t see anyone else say anything about this and was wondering if this is something you know how to fix? Also those abilities cast fine in the dps sequence you have its just (III) not working
Edit: I tied the HoT build and its doing the same thing, no Tiger Palm or Blackout Kick.
Edit: I figured it out! It was the multiclick not being selected in troubleshooting. I will leave this up incase it happens to anyone else though.
Have you considered trying the Conduit of the Celestials side as well?
thx,I will try to translate.
Hey wenlo, I used your macros last season up to do CE in LOU until having to swap for raid comp. Using your current III now the only thing that feels off for me is the mana tea use (yu’lons whisper) , I know why its used for the AOE healing but id rather control that part since it fires at really odd times atm.
If I remove it from the sequence will it mess anything up?
Thanks for all your hard work.
There are different kinds of builds, the one using celestial are all here
The main use, aside from fixing the mana issues you can have with that more mana heavy rotation compared to the more fistweaving focused one, is to use your Mana Tea stacks before each Sheilun’s Gift in order to reload its stacks with the Tranquil Tea talent and make the healing from Sheilun’s Gift stronger.
So if you want to use it manually but don’t use it as often as the sequence does, you could run into mana issues and lose a lot of HPS from Sheilun’s Gift and Yu’lon’s Whisper. Aside from those three issues, it should be fine if you really want to remove Mana Tea from the sequence and use it manually. You could also use the AT + HoT sequence and press Mana Tea / Sheilun whenever you feel the need, or could add an Alt + function to include the Mana Tea + Sheilun’s Gift combo
For III is there a reason for statue i don’t find myself manually channeling soothing mist all that much
This is going so well Thank you @bonal_Lucas
I have 3 questions however i feel like you can answer it with 1 answer. SO when i am trying to use Crane detox etc i need to let go of the macro and spam it for it to go off. is that because i have it set too fast?
what do you do to work around this?
You’re waiting on gcd to finish, you might want to check frogski’s instant castbar, it helps with tracking your last cast spell.
For spining crane kick you might want to use /cast [nochanneling] !Spinning Crane Kick → it takes out the delay between spells, don’t ask why this works, i have no idea. You can opt for [nochanneling] or not depending on playstyle if you want to cancel different spells or not
heey you should put [Renewing Mist] as mouse over aswell i had Marco where it did with mouse over an it work well
I was wondering how difficult it would be to implement Soothing Mist into your sequence for some alternative builds.
As you probably know, the healer Megasett has some interesting builds on her website that I’d really like to try out.
I was looking at testing the following builds:
C4QAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgxMWGLDL2MmZsgtltZMDzsttMzYhx0MmBMYwgZmZGmNGDzyMBAAAAQAWsMzysNzAAAwYAmBMGYRGzA
C4QAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgxMWGLjZxixMjFzstsNDYmttlZGLMmmxMgBDGMzMzwsxYYWmJAAAAACwilZWmtZGAAAGDwMgxALyYGA
A big thank you to @bonal_lucas for all the hard work and patience you put into these sequences.
They’ve been incredibly fun to play with and have made a big difference in how smooth the gameplay feels.
Really appreciate the time and effort you put into maintaining and improving them for the community.
I lowered my MS on my steelseries repeat key to 100 and it feels much better!
This is something you can probably do but we figured out last xpac the getting renewing mist out on player was way more then enough to do high keys as he provided his proof.
Yes its sounds like your MS setting is way too fast, reduce it and it will run better
It’s not necessary. The only thing that matters is keeping Renewing Mist on cooldown so the group stays covered by the HoT. It will spread naturally with the sequence, so you don’t have to worry about casting it on specific players.
Thank you, I appreciate it ![]()
I added Soothing Mist to certain builds you can check it here: Wenlo - The Way of the Serpent : A Raid and Mythic+ Build for Midnight Mistweaver Monk (Pre-Patch)
It’s only used briefly to keep the Jade Serpent Statue active and trigger the passive effects from Soothing Mist, since we don’t want to fully channel it
Ye I know her. The first build is the main choice when playing with Celestial for M+, but to be honest for a Way of the Crane + Ancient Teachings build, I think it will be strictly better with Master of Harmony. We get +50% healing on our main healing source (Ancient Teachings) and a massive buff to our Sheilun’s Gift healing. We will see how it goes once the season starts.
(Will add an sequence with apex talent + sheilun gift later)
For Build N°2, I did a lot of testing between Rising Mist and Tear of Morning, and Rising Mist performed much better HPS wise about three times more on average than Tear of Morning. So I wouldn’t recommend choosing Tear of Morning over Rising Mist.
Thanks for taking the time to explain it. I’ll check out the other topic for the builds.
I’d honestly prefer Way of the Crane, but it feels like the HPS with Way of the Serpent is better — though maybe that’s just me.
Both options are actually good. You get more DPS and healing from Gust of Mists and Ancient Teachings with Way of the Crane, plus the ability to use Spinning Crane Kick to heal (which you can’t do with Way of the Serpent), and more Rising Sun Kick resets.
But with how strong our Renewing Mist and Sheilun’s Gift are, having +30% healing on them from Way of the Serpent is also very strong. And since our Season 1 set bonus only buffs Renewing Mist, that option could become even stronger than it already is.
So feel free to experiment with both Way and see wich one you prefer. Also the choice on the node between rushing wind kick and ancient teaching is interesting if you play with way of the serpent.
Once real content starts and we push actual challenging keys, it will naturally filter down what’s best. For now though, there are a lot of interesting options
