Wenlo - The Way of the Ox : A Raid and Mythic+ Build for Midnight BrewMaster Monk

yeah the way you heal is nothing like me lol, plus my dps log doesnt look like yours when it comes to ranking of abilities. Any suggestions on why my tiger palm usage is so high compared to yours and others?

I wanted to give your raining barrels harmony build a try, I like that for easier content certain abilities can easily swap to other talents which add to the build based on some of your suggestions. If I give up Ox stance and Vital flame to take Celestial Flames and an extra point in Anvil and Stave it just eats, couldn’t be killed, love the simplicity, thank you again Lucas, you truly help make the game more fun.

Its seems correct to me, its depend if your in Aoe situation or single target, i think people dont realise how strong tiger palm damage is in single target

It deals 24k damage after each Blackout Kick + dodge, making it our biggest damage source when fully buffed and even more with Master of Harmony (+100%)

Happy to hear you like it ! It’s also my favorite build. I’ve loved playing around Brew cooldown reduction and Special Delivery for a few expansions now, and the freedom to use Brews on cooldown without overthinking it, makes tanking feel really smooth. Have fun with it

I recommend using the “Rain of Barrels” sequence with Master of Harmony it’s kinda insane in that scenario. It provides permanent slow on close ennemy through Special Delivery, and with how fast you spam your Brews, it makes you incredibly tanky. You also dispel all snare effects with the PvP talent Niuzao’s Essence like every 3 second, and with Hot Trub, you convert your Stagger into additional damage. For the third PvP talent, I like picking Avert Harm or Microbrew

The Master of Harmony talents and sequence feel absolutely insane in dungeons. The healing output is honestly really impressive.

I ran it in a +18 key and everything felt super smooth. I’m still not 100% sure which build is technically better at that key level, but this one is performing incredibly well.

Will you keep the sequence up to date for midnight? Or do you perhaps already have a midnight sequence ready?

absolutely love that, works so well!

i guess the part that really gets to me is the massive difference between our self healing. When i get low there is no massive jumps back up like in your videos, its a constant struggle from 5/6 stacks till i die at 11/12

im around 124 ilvl

Hard to tell for now wich build is the best, since it’s only pre-patch, but once we reach max level in Midnight with the Apex talent, I think Shado-Pan will have the upper hand damage wise. The extra Keg Smash resets benefit Shado-Pan more than Master of Harmony.

But Defensively Master of Harmony is fantastic and in my opinion more beginner friendly. Happy to hear you’re doing fines in +18 that’s where keys start to get challenging

Thanks you  Yes i will keep all the Monk sequences updated during the expansion and update the prepatch one once Midnight launches, since we’ll probably get a lot more balance changes before then

Well your ilvl is still really low, so you can’t really compare your numbers to mine my Monk is in full Mythic gear with BiS items on every slot. Try to craft lot of Vers/Crit Gear if you got some spark(Weapon,Ring, neck first) time you loot interesting stuff.

The important part is whether the sequence runs exactly like in the video. The rest will come as your gear ilvl improves.
Also, make sure you’re walking over the orbs like I do in the video.

I recommend using the defensive Shado-Pan sequence if you really want to play Shado-Pan, or the Master of Harmony one its most forgiving specially if you feel squitchie. The full DPS sequence can be harder to use since it doesn’t handle the defensive part

The energy problem will be gone with Apex talents. You will have more free Keg Smashes than you need. But your feedback is on point.

There is a new MoH build on the rise. Do you have your eyes on that aswell? And as I wrote before: you are the king of brewmaster macro sequences. <3

Just curious why this doesnt use spinning crane? Is it just not worth it?

Haha thank you ! No wich one is it ?

Yea it’s not worth it. You don’t want to waste your energy on Spinning Crane Kick when you can spend it on Keg Smash or Tiger Palm instead. The only real purpose of Spinning Crane Kick for Brew right now is on pull to help gather mobs, and that’s about it.

yo! the rain barrel build is AWESOME! keep killing it!

Hi,

I am maining monk in midnight for mythic raid and m+. I have been trying out the macro for the last few weeks and it feels crazy solid in m+ and the majority of the raid too.

I have been playing around last night with MOH build in mythic raid and just wondered if you could help me with somethings

  • What speed would you advise the macros be run at?
  • Do you have a MOH version that doesnt use the brews? when i was doing nexus king and Dimmy on mythic last night i didnt have my Shield brews for the big hits and died a few times because of this.

Cant wait to prog midnight with these marcos very very good job

So im IL 113, with junk trinkets (its a new toon), and I got to 20 stacks on the tank dummy in dorn on my third attempt once I realize that expel harm, vivify, and celestial aren’t part of the setup.
Is it possible to have them incorporated into the defensive macro? especially the free vivify after kegsmash?

really appreciate your work, this is my first time ever using GSE and you’ve sold me on it.
