I’m actually very surprised to see the single target hitting so close to sims because in my mind the macro is doing things it shouldn’t, but I know nothing about priests so there’s that. I guess interrupting mind flay and reapplying dots that have high stacks is perfectly fine lol. <shrug> Works for me. Thank you.
I was really struggling with using vampiric embrace via the shadowheal macro so I added /castsequence [mod:shift] Power Word: Shield, Vampiric Embrace to key press on the single target macro and I’m really liking it. It’s not working perfectly. For some reason it is casting Vampiric Embrace before PWS, but it gets the job done.
Enix, can you recommend the best talents to use for single target, don’t care too much about clearing trash (and being highest dps during), most fights in BfD are single target (cept the Councle and the raptors go down fast enough), so for maximum single target?
My stats are:iLvl383
Crit:22%
Haste:18
Mastery:21
Vers:4
Current build: 1132111
Having difficulty getting anywhere near sim DPS. Sim 16k, target dummy ST is about 10.5 im 383 ilvl with 16% crit, 14% haste 22% mastery - anyone have any ideas?
You really need to make sure you’re considering all variables you’re putting in the SIM. I haven’t played for two months, so I’m standing at a training dummy about to make sure I know what I’m doing again… when I first ran my SIM, it output 15.5K DPS. However, when I changed the variables to match my current character state, it dropped to 11.9K DPS. I’ll then use that SIM to review the sample action priority list (gives you your ideal rotation) and try to get my macro to run like it, as much as possible, and then compare my DPS against the SIM.
In my adventures of Shadow I have found that 20-24% static Haste is a must. Too many people try to balance Haste and Crit, but really, Haste is the runaway stat. Second, the further into Heroic BoD and more importantly, the 3 Azurite pieces from BoD will dramatically change your shadow priest. I can now have up over 76% haste with gear procs, doubling my SIM dps (and keeping me in the top 3 of raid DPS).
Before H/BoD I was at 380 ilvl and 16% Haste and 19% Crit. Now I’m at 388 ilvl and without buffs, 19% Haste and 16% crit and I feel WAY more fluid.
Ok, in my attempt to max out dps, I have switched the first talent from “Fortress of the Mind” to “Shadow Word: Void” that has increased my dps by about 3k.

One: Clipping (the act of ending a channel spell before the full duration or refreshing a dot before it falls off --not to be confused with the Warlock passive Pandemic–) is the preferable move if a more powerful ability is available. If the last two ticks of Mind Flay do less damage than what you would gain by refreshing Shadow Word: Pain, then you should be interrupting Flay for Pain.
Two: I would assume that if the macro is constantly refreshing dots that have more than enough time left that maybe the macro needs to be tuned for your haste.
Enix, have you checked out Sethadon’s macros (just posted a day or so ago) to see if there is anything to be gained/learned?
Thanks, Pete
No. In fact, I haven’t been on the forums in months and the Discord in several weeks. I got burned out trying to make everyone happy and after my coding buddy decided to save his sanity by bailing on it all I sort of did the same.
If I decide to release updates to my macros after the next major patch (assuming I find any joy in it at all) then I’ll probably release them as is and let you guys hash it out.
hello mate, im kinda new to this and i was wondering if it is safe to use ahk with mode to hold the macro key and it start firing without keep smashing the button not a toggle just press. Thanks in advance.
