AHK or similiar in comparison to button clicking?

Hi,
im just wondering. Isnt AHK automation of button pressing? Why isnt it illegal? I dont get it. What is the difference between just press the key, e.g. 1 or use AHK?

AHK doesnt auto play for you. It isnt botting for you. It repeatedly fires a keystroke. You still have to turn it on and off or hold the key down to act.
