Aza’s Guardian Druid – v2.0

M+ 20.02.2026

N MFO

With v2.0 I completely rewrote the Guardian sequence.

Instead of splitting between DotC and Elune’s Chosen, the sequence is now divided into:

  • Raze Version
  • No Raze Version
  • OT Pure Damage Version (as a seperate Sequence)

The goal was to solve the biggest structural issue Guardian currently has:

Raze / Ravage are technically the same spell, but GSE does not treat them as interchangeable inside sequences.

This caused inconsistencies in Rage handling, especially for Druid of the Claw, where maintaining consistent Ironfur uptime while weaving Raze became unreliable.

So I rebuilt the entire priority system from scratch.

Design Philosophy (v2.0)

Guardian is in an awkward design spot:

  • In AoE you are flooded with Mangle / Thrash resets
  • In Single Target you often run into empty GCDs
  • DotC adds RNG layers that make Rage flow inconsistent
  • Raze and Ironfur compete heavily for Rage

The new sequence solves this by:

  • Guaranteeing 100% Ironfur uptime
  • Only casting Raze with excess Rage
  • Never overstacking Ironfur to 4–5 unnecessarily
  • Supporting standard talent builds (5% Mastery during Ironfur, Brambles, etc.)
  • Minimizing dead GCDs without filler spam

Versions Overview

Version 1 – Raze (Balanced Offensive)

This is the default progression setup.

It maintains permanent Ironfur uptime, even in Single Target, and only spends Rage on Raze when there is true excess.

Key Improvements in v2.0:

  • Proper Rage banking before Ironfur refresh
  • Raze is no longer competing with defensive uptime
  • Works smoothly with standard talent builders
  • No forced Rage dumping
  • 1 Stack of Ironfur - up to 3 Stacks during EC

This version finally makes DotC viable without sacrificing mitigation stability.

You get strong AoE scaling while remaining tanky enough for high keys.

Version 2 – No Raze (Maximum Defenses)

This version completely removes Raze from the rotation.

All Rage is funneled into:

  • Ironfur uptime
  • Mitigation smoothing

Extremely stable. No Rage volatility. Constant 4-5 Stacks of Ironfur.
I do not use this at all, since Raze is superior in all content cases at the moment.

Version 3 – OT Pure Damage

This version is designed for:

  • Off-tanking in raids
  • Low incoming damage phases
  • Leveling

It removes Ironfur logic completely.

All Rage is converted into Raze / Ravage and Maximum DPS throughput.

This is not meant for active tanking heavy content.
It is its own sequence so you can bind it to a seperat key. You can alternate to it when you can greed for dmg during keys/Bosses.

Major Cooldowns

The following rotational abilities are intentionally NOT automated:

  • Lunar Beam
  • Barkskin
  • Incarnation
  • Survival Instincts

Guardian survivability depends heavily on timing.
These should always remain manual for proper pull planning and coordination.

Modifiers

/cast [noform:1, nochanneling] Bear Form;
[mod:ctrl,@mouseover,help,dead] Rebirth;
[mod:ctrl,@mouseover,help] Regrowth;
[mod:alt] Frenzied Regeneration;
[mod:shift] Incapacitating Roar

Modifier Breakdown

CTRL

  • Mouseover Rebirth (dead)
  • Mouseover Regrowth (friendly)

Hybrid utility without leaving Bear Form. Regrowth is an insanly potent offheal when you have Dream of Cenarius up.

ALT

  • Frenzied Regeneration

Fully manual emergency self-heal control.

SHIFT

  • Incapacitating Roar

Instant access to AoE stop / control.

This keeps your defensive toolkit fully reactive while the sequence handles Rage flow.

Heart of the Wild

Heart of the Wild offers flexible hybrid utility depending on encounter needs.

Healing (Base Keybind – “T”)

Strong Wild Growth value and enhanced Dream of Cenarius Regrowth for AoE stabilization.

AoE Damage (Shift + T – Moonkin Form)

#showtooltip
/castsequence [nochanneling] reset=15 Moonkin Form, Heart of the Wild, Bear Form, Null, Null

Enables an empowered Starfall burst window before returning to Bear Form.

Single Target Damage (Alt + T – Cat Form)

#showtooltip
/castsequence [nochanneling] reset=15 Cat Form, Heart of the Wild, Bear Form, Null, Null

Provides meaningful single-target burst through Feral Frenzy.

I use separate keybinds for flexibility and smooth transitions.

Block for later Use maybe

I’ve added an EC Version that no longer includes Raze. This build is exceptionally tanky and feels fantastic in M+. Some of the descriptions in the OP have also been updated to better explain the sequence and modifiers.

Currently, I recommend EC over DotC, as it offers improved survivability and a smoother gameplay experience.

Updated the DotC Sequence to the one I am using for a few days now.
Also added a bit more description and how I set up and use HotW.

Thank you. I am using it while levelling in Twilight Heights. Running smooth!

I’ve refined the DotC version and updated it to v1.2.

The sequence has been rewritten to ensure proper proc usage while minimizing unnecessary Swipe casts in single target. Guardian is currently in a bit of an awkward spot design-wise — you’re flooded with Mangle and Thrash procs in AoE situations, but in pure single target you often end up starved for meaningful GCDs.

Its designed to cast 2 Ironfurs for every Ravage, which seems to be the standard for high parsing guardian logs.

The new sequence is designed to minimize empty globals without artificially filling them with low-value abilities where they aren’t needed. In testing, I’m seeing small rotational pauses roughly every 10–15 GCDs. However, overall average damage is noticeably higher compared to simply spamming extra Swipe or Moonfire, while still maintaining stable Ironfur uptime in single target scenarios.

I’ll be running a few +14 keys today to further validate performance under real conditions and will share logs once available.

As always, feedback is welcome.

DotC working well in +14s

I made some changes to the EC build. Its clearing +14 like a champ now.

how do you prevent it from auto targeting the nearest mob?

How do you mean that?

In general, you dont really have anything that is in range of you that you would not want to pull. If its close enough to get hit by a Raze or Ravage, you will have aggro eitherway. Moonfire will be cast on the mob you have focused. The Twin Moonfire trait wont be casted on a passive mob. Maybe you can go into detail so I can answer better?

+15 as DotC

your right, I see now

doesnt work for me, others do.

It cast iron fur on pull, but doesn’t cast it again or maul/ravage and stays rage capped.

Can you try to Disable and enable the part of the sequence that does use IF and Maul? Also, can you delete “Raze” or “Ravage” within that castsequence and reqrite Maul into it?

I had the same issue a few times. It should be IF, Maul, IF but it rewrites itself to Raze or Ravage sometimes.

I just added a new sequence.
Its used to off-tank or in instances where you dont need IF to survive. I use it for lvling and Raids. It spends all rage on Raze/Ravage.

My game freezes up whenever I added the OT version. Tried to reset addons, delete cache, WTF. But it all nails down to that GSE import :o really strange..

Is it freezes every 20-60s for 2-3 seconds? Im getting crazy over here with that same problem! Please tell me its exactly that what you are talking about. If so, I can fill out a bug report.

Haha yeah:P that is exactly what happends. But for some reason, only for that OT GSE, rest is working fine

Delete that sequence for now please. Ill get to work and trim it down to improve performance!
