CURRENT - New Macros for Christmas!

hello gween, I am pleasantly using the new macro nomodsbm I think it is the absolute that the best macro created. volev osapere I noticed geese suffers a little block again sometimes, or at least could pull out a cobra shot more instead the participants who reload the other 2 spell.potresti see if you can still improve the focus? I’m using heroic antimus raid complete and my basic odps is 1.5 million with a 21 tier full 4 bonus + legendary shoulder straps. i did put my gear raidbot.com for

If this is honestly what you are doing, then I cannot help you. Not because I want to be a jerk or anything, but I simply cannot devise a strategy for you when you change every fight. My best wishes for your success.

Yes, and? What is your rationale for using AMOC instead of Volley then if it ISN’T what others are doing?

The syntax is a follows:

/cast A Murder of Crows

What a clever way to induce my assistance

Gween

Hello everyone,
It is my first post ever in here (i just register today) but i have been using macro and reading from here for a couple of years now.

Gween i has using your macro no mods no boots and i must say i was pretty happy about it. I say i was because i got my hand on the legendary boots s i will have to change my setup. I use a Razer Orbweaver with synapse for gaming in all my game, and for a reason i dont understand every macro with mod dosent work, well the macro itself work but the mod (shift-ctlr or alt) dont. Tonight i will check on my key binding i think the problem could be that i have Shit+1 binded somewhere and my macro is on the button 1 so its interfere.

I have read a lot of your thread and i am trying to improve my character, actually my stats are way wrong, got way to much of mastery (90+) but my question is how… I mean when the pieces for my set drop or gear at all, you cant choose stats, so its mostly luck for stats… Or maybe i didnt catch something ?

I’m gonna finish by saying a big thank for your implication and keep in mind that it’s not always only the people here on the site who enjoy your work, but alot of people unregistred here … I was for year.
Thank you
Phil

PS: sorry about my bad English folks, it’s not my first language.

I did this yesterday, sim gave me 1 022 000 dps … i was pulling a bit more so this macro is pretty neat
Now i have started to change some gear, i will check next week my progress

what about stats prio?

Hi Gween,

First time posting here.

I recently gotten the leggo boots and now I switched to the Z-NoModAOTB-Boots macro. Whenever during pull, there is a few seconds that the macro will cast Wrath and Aspect of Wild then it doesn’t do anything and I will have to normally manually keypress Kill Command while still spamming the macro and hope that something happens.

Is that as intended?

Not sure what you have done wrong, but I checked the macro and it runs perfectly well for me. Did you make any edits?

Gween

Hello Gween

Problem: Macro doesn’t fire cobra shots (or anything else) for about 5-8 seconds when I’m at full focus. Also, macro executes A Murder of Crows at the beginning of combat and never again until combat is left and re-entered.

My info:
-Practicing on raid boss target dummy in SW.
-Karoma is my Spirit Beast.
-Ilvl 914 with 2 legos: The Apex Predator Claw, and Kil’Jadan’s Burning Wish
-My 'toon’s armory link: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/whisperwind/bonssai

I am using your macro #6 from OP with the following edits:
-Line 1: Deleted, could not import with a blank line.
-Line 19: Deleted, I am playing a human.
-Line 23: Edited to read " “/cast !A Murder of Crows”,"
-Line 24: Deleted, preference to manually toggle growl.
-Line 26: Deleted, preference to manually buff.
-Line 40: Deleted, could not import with a blank line.

Here is my modified script:

hi gween, I wanted to thank you again for the new macros, I’m using the macro nomodsbm are item livel 956 4 pz.tier 21 + legendary shoulders-waist, (all suggested by raidbot.com test) with the 2 bis trinket of class, namely the bait argus enhanced to 965 per hour, + trinket of the sargeras’ sins. I’m online holding 2 million dps fixed, pure pure adrus hc and various bosses, mythical + 18 I also closed at 3 million dps. then congratulations.
note: I do not use any synapse settings ahk etc. I manually press the macro setting on the 1 button of the mouse

Why are you using ‘A Murder of Crows’?

Please don’t read anything into this question and just answer it as straightforwardly as I am asking it.

Gween

So, there is nothing more to say…

Got a BIG boost in dps (OK, i got new trinkets) BUT the makros done there job very well.

I played all without AMOTC and it was awesome for me.

Thanks a lot Gwen for all your work again…

I’ve been testing for a while today after running an ALT raid last night in Antorus and noticed the macro would have 3-5 seconds where nothing was happening. I have a weak aura bar to show the GCD, and when there is no GCD for several seconds and my focus bar @ 120/120 – I smell a DPS loss.

I’ve been using AOTBNoBoots. When this pause occurs, Kill Command typically sits off CD for 2-3 seconds and the focus bar is full. I’ve played around with the macro in various modified versions, and have only been able to improve the DPS output slightly. Even then, it seems situational based on procs.

In my current gear, I sim at 1.12M DPS using a 5-minute single boss patchwerk style sim. To try and recreate this in-game, I run the macro for 5 minutes on a single target dummy. The best I’ve been able to reproduce without modifying the macro is 975K. I use Synapse and have tried various timing intervals (0.050, 0.100, 0.150). I’ve found, for me anyway, timing doesn’t really affect anything. After 5 minutes I end up with the same average output. I’ve also noticed my DPS output is nearly identical regardless of Flask, Rune, and Food. Having full raid buffs seems to only increase DPS 10-15k using the macro.

I really can’t explain the pause, I feel that’s where the DPS loss is occurring. We should never be at full focus with Kill Command off CD just firing off auto/volley shots.

The reason behind AMOC, in a true single target fight, is it SIMS higher than Volley. I’ve swapped Volley for AMOC in my macro while testing and found I still end up with the same 975K average (87% DPS compared to SIM).

Below is a talent compare:

Hi all:

I love all of these macro’s , and I have been simming the best Legendary combos, but keep getting very different numbers…
So simple straightforward question, if you use Cobra Shot build , what legendaries are recommended (asume you have all)
I have been playing with the AOTB build with boots, but to GWEEN’s point I am seeing a drop off to the other hunters atm (and yes I use Chest and Boots for that build)

So what would be the best combo to people for the cobra shot build be ? simple as that?

Thanks all and thanks gween for these macros’s they have kept me playing to date , otherwise with how middle to lower end of the pack we are I would prb have rerolled to MM (Mage turret much?) mode which I absolutely hate

The comparison you provided shows that using AMOC versus Volley on a pure single target fight sims thus:

AMOC - 1,148,762
Volley - 1,121,616

This is a difference of LESS THAN 1%. And consider what is necessary to achieve this MAXIMUM potential dps different of less than 1%? AMOC must be prioritized such that there is a never a delay in casting it. Even a single delay of 1 second reduced the damage difference potential significantly. In fact, just a 1 second delay in the course of 10 minutes means the loss of one entire AMOC damage cycle.

Worse, the likely result, especially using a macro, is that AMOC will have several delays for each cast possibly up to 10 seconds each. Across a 10 minute fight, it would be expected to lose an entire AMOC cycle, but probably not 2, but potentially as many as 2 depending.

Since Volley is passive, it requires no macro intervention or time, there are no delays, the damage is consistent, reliable and predictable. Additionally, many fights are NOT pure single target so you get the added benefit of doing MORE damage on those fights using volley without having to re-talent in between fights.

The simple reality is that although there is a very small potential damage difference in using AMOC, the costs of using it are not worth it. If the maximum difference is less than 1% on a sim, the difference in reality will ALWAYS be smaller, because you are never going to have a perfect rotation.

Fighting for that tiny difference that you almost certainly are NOT actually going to achieve just makes no sense to me.

There are other costs as well, besides the difference in damage and the cost of changing talents between fights. One could argue that with a warlock, changing talents is free and only requires hearthing out and getting summoned back. Again, I freely admit that this is a miniscule potential improvement that might be achieved using AMOC on a pure single target fight. But I would challenge anyone to show me week over week logs that show AMOC ACTUALLY providing more damage on an ACTUAL fight.

So what are these other costs? Well, in terms of a macro, AMOC must be highly prioritized in order to be properly utilized. This means that all other abilities are de-prioritized and that results in some delays in using other abilities. These delays are cumulative and could easily cost you much more of a DPS loss than any potential gain in DPS achieved by using AMOC.

It frankly stuns me how hard people argue (without supporting facts) for using AMOC when the logic and math are clear that it simply is NOT worth it relative to using Volley.

Then again, nobody has to listen to me, and you are free to do whatever you like. But I find it telling that it seems that people who follow my advice seem to be very happy with their performance, and the ones fighting against it do not seem to be happy with their results.

Gween

I will tell you all this as well…for whatever it is worth. Take it or don’t…

Using AOTB will result in lower DPS than using Killer Cobra.

This isn’t because AOTB is inherently worse than Killer Cobra, it is really more a matter of optimization. It is MUCH easier to optimize a macro to use Killer Cobra, and MUCH harder to do the same using AOTB.

It primarily comes down to focus. While it is possible to optimize a macro for a particular set of gear and statistics, it requires a lot of effort to maintain that optimization when upgrading or otherwise changing gear.

In all of my testing with all my hunters, and for all the people I have worked with, it was always true that Killer Cobra ended up being the superior talents for DPS while macroing.

Gween

There are far too many variables to state with any accuracy which Legendaries are ‘best’. In my post about focus use, I try to explain this somewhat, but there is no real answer to this question and anyone that tries is wrong or lying.

Gween

Simply because I hate the sound effect of Volly, it annoys the shit out of me

Good luck with that. I guess.
