@Hermit . Macro 2.0.4 continues to work well- haven’t tested the 3.0.0 version- have 3 tanks and a BM that I play every week so may or may not get to it. Hope your medical issues aren’t getting in the way of game play. The tank nerfs are very real. Need a lot more healer support and roll through my defensive CDs much faster- and actually have to use them all. It’s a whole new spec on higher keys- I think they over-nerfed the guardian imho. My tankadin should be harder to play ‘on paper’ but the nerfs are not nearly as noticeable on my pally as they are on my guardian. They wanted more healer interaction, so I guess we roll with the punches. Was doing 14s on my guardian last week- not so sure I can pull it off after the nerfs but will jump in and see how it goes at some point before reset.
I think I’ll be sticking with the 2.0.4 build going forward.
As far as the nerfs, its really not that bad in TWW. Its just that for the next week we are playing with a spec that doesn’t have all the tools it will have and the current damage patterns don’t take these nerfs into account either.
Bear in general looks to be one of the stronger specs going into TWW (currently watching people time +12’s.) Once we go live and level up we will get a lot of bonus healing out of moonfire and thrash healing, BS can hit up to 40% DR, we should be hitting near armor cap, and we might be putting more points into FR which will reduce the CD by a good bit and give it a 20% free proc as well, and in raids we can mitigate huge portions of the auto attack damage. Or you can go DotC and give up on some of the tankiness for extra damage.
Nope if anything I’ve played more this last week than I have in a couple of months. For whatever reason I started playing BDK as I found a transmog I liked and geared him. Its been a blast to play something a bit different and I think instead of being a one character only player I might go with two from here on out.
Well it looks like Oak solved the moonfire on target change problem I’ve had by making it an in game macro and than calling on it within a GSE macro.
I’ve tested his macro and honestly its preforming better. While I made some adjustments of my own due to my own limitations (and things like an off tank variation) I think I’ll just be using his going forward.
Feel free to continue to use this or modify it as you wish but I suggest swapping over. If Oak gives his permission I might publish my own variations here but otherwise I think its about done.
You can find Oaks macros here:
Hey,
First time i use a macro. And i like that one.
But i have a question how can i remove Barkskin in the macro. I like to cast Barkskin on my own.
type /ges
Select the macro you wish to modify on the left hand side.
Go to 1, I’ve circled this. This is the sequence itself.
Find the line with barkskin in it and highlight than delete it.
On the bottom click save.
This is Oaks macro so the macro lines will look a bit different but its the same concept.
Keep this running tru War within it’s a garand design and ease of use for us disabled, with room for modifications if needed thanks // All Vets. <3
Not sure If I’m doing something wrong but Maul is not going off at all. Other than that the macro is great.
The GH macros are in the first post if you are using the Oaks macros I’d suggest posting on his thread instead.
Are you using the TWW variant? I didn’t realize I wasn’t specific when I posted it but that one is made specifically for Elune hero talents at level 80 and shouldn’t be used right now unless you were on the beta. It uses all IF talents and drops maul and raze completely.
If however you are using the GH ST than thats unusual, I would delete it and re-import the string after reloading your UI. If it still doesn’t work it might be an issue with your AHK speed, maybe adjust that by +/- 20 ms.
I’ll see how Oak’s performs in TWW and what kind of variations are necessary if they are minor though there won’t be a need. But already I can see that there needs to be several macros for various builds from Elune M+ st and aoe, to raid off tanking to DotC cat weaving etc. We also really need cooldowns to not be used by the macro as you can’t stack them they need to be rolled instead (perhaps to the point where even BS might need to be removed from the macro.)
Maybe something like this

Its pretty much 100% uptime on mangle and thrash, will never cap on rage but should allow you to hold alt to cast FR (might need to see if I can cast sequence this so it won’t blow both charges at once if you hold alt to long) and when you switch targets it will cast moonfire although it can be up to a 2 second delay (less than Oaks because there are less blocks to cycle through.) I’m also trying to work ctrl to cast moonfire if hovering over an enemy or decurse if friendly. Through all of testing there has never been any hangups. It should also work with most Elune builds unless you are using the maul enhancing talents in which case I will need to make a separate macro for that, but I want to see how builds play out first.
At this point I think I’m just waiting to see how things go in about a week before putting any more time into them.
Can’t wait sir, and i do agree with you here. I love having ex aoe on shift mod or alike with stun / cd’s on alt / ctrl mods. <3
Is there any 3.0 st sequence?
After some testing with lvl 80 and dungeons outdoor content this is the way to go having moonfire on mod and leaving all def and agr cd’s is the way i think.
Yet another rebuild. This one is a rework of Oaks macro with a bit of a wonky build. In testing I’m able to pull all trash up to the boss in heroics and do about 1.2M dps. Its also been able to heal through such a pull without a healer as they rage quit mid pull.
Version 1 is with Incarn cast on CD, Version 2 is casting it manually. Many of the previous modifier options have not been worked in yet, I’ll get to that with the next build now that the core works.
As always the latest version can be found in the first post.
I’ll try to record a video of this later tonight and have it listed tommarow.
is there a speed we should use?
also do you not use raze? for aoe?
50 to 120ms.
Nope no raze. Its a weird build but so far its the one that seems to work the best. About 50-60% of your damage will come from moonfire and thrash. I found with raze it was doing less than IF so we could save a talent point and put it into getting more stacks of IF which lead to this as we didn’t need all the maul talents. While its not anything like the one found in wowhead or IV guides it does closely resemble Yodas guide.
I really wanted a no incarn build to work but with the dots and CD on thrash it doesn’t have the staying power to survive large pulls.
In the class tree you can talent out of the speed boost for typhoon and incap but I prefer the speed boost to get big pulls quicker. Likewise you can take Light of the Elune but I found its to random and I personally hate the way it looks, plus more damage during incarn allows for bigger pulls.
Boss damage however is pitiful and will require an entirely different build and macro. I’ll get that build out the first week of tyrannical or raid.
I don’t bother with incarn. I can’t stand that whole long cooldown mechanic.
This is so close to what I’m doing! Your play style is much like mine, and I prefer it. I don’t care about boss DPS. I’m a tank and my job is to stay alive, be easy on the healer and keep aggro.
Installed this today and have run a few dungeons and delves. Survivability is quite good compared to Oak’s original. Lose a few things from his build but seem to gain more with this build. Will keep playing around with it. As you mentioned, dps on bosses isn’t great- but I’m sure you will work with it and get something together for ST in mythics on boss fights. Good macro- so far it is the best I have used given my play style which is to gather everything up and take a beating while dps mows them down
Unedited video of the macro. I’ll need to try running things again as I’m having issues with the editor and geforce shadowplay. I’d suggest muting as the mic is a bit loud. I forgot how much I hate the sound of my own voice.
Pulls are done randomly pulling big with and without the CD’s to try to limit test. Honestly I think I could have pulled larger on the initial pull provided I was more aggressive with FR. I also didn’t use LB nearly as often as I should have.
Tested and works perfect the no raze is a great choice and moofire works perfect i changed the ironfur to be cast but great work as always thanks a bunch brother <3
Yeah IF is a bit of a pain. I want it to be cast but leave enough rage to still be able to use FR. Of course that means during Incarn you will overcap on rage. Still trying to decide what to do with that.
Also rewatching the video around the 14 min mark I think the play is going to be to line of sight pulling around the corner to stack the casters. Otherwise that pull is to much running around to grab aggro and you make it hard for melee.
