With AOE 5.1 what is the MOONSPAM macro? and does ctrl still cast moonfire?
Ah yeah I didnāt leave any warnings about that. This is a Oak rewrite so MOONSPAM is an in game macro. Make a normal macro under character specific and name it MOONSPAM (make sure its all caps.)
/castsequence [nomod, nochanneling] reset=target Moonfire, Null, Null
This is what allows the macro to cast moonfire every time you change targets. At the moment I think I removed all modifiers. Iāll be re-adding them with the next update to be consistent with prior releases. Iām still making some changes, but I really need the sims to be released and accurate.
Alternatively you can also use Oaks macros for the time being as well. His are much better for world questing at the moment as they do far more damage single target as his build uses the Maul enhancing talents. Iāll be pushing my own changes to these soon as well but figured Iād release something for now as this seemed to handle large pulls in M+ better.
I need this UI Setup!
hey is there new 5.1 for ST ?
Not at the moment. Iām waiting on M0 and raids to test builds and macros. Iāll get updates out within a week to two max for Elune, it might take a bit longer for DotC because of cat weaving in raid.
I need to fix a bit yet as the new expansion broke a lot of it. Once I get it working I can try releasing it. But mostly its just ElvUI and skinner.
Updated macros yet again including a new single target and off tank macro.
Iāve tested so far in M0ās and level 8 delves. It can be a bit rough so make sure to pull small, in fact I prefer one pack at a time unless incarn is up. The raid macros work fine for at least normals and it will likely be a bit before I can test heroic.
hi Hermit - just letting you know that I appreciate all the hard work youāve done here. iām having great results so far. i havenāt tested the new updates you released today, but iām looking forward to it. thanks again for these updates and future updates to come!
Thanks for the kind words.
Iām really just releasing what I would already be doing anyway. Its great that I have others to share it with.
With more testing it seems like the macro is much better. Not sure if it was a string of inexperienced healers or the previous version but Iāve been able to clear most M0ās this morning with no deaths unless they are mechanic related and its even survived through some stupidity on my part like the second boss in GB when you need to kite (I faced tanked it thinking it was swords you needed to kite.)
Parses are in for the previous version in raid and they were green and grey (no enchants or consumables,) Iāll have to wait until Thurs to test the new versions but with the off tank macro alone it should put it back into solid blue and maybe purple parses. Iām pretty sure though Elune builds are always going to be low parsed so next week I might look into a cat weaving macro. I wish they split parses by hero talents.
im using the macro but its cycling thew targets on everything
Which of the three macros is it? And what exactly do you mean by cycling thew targets? The better you can describe the behavior the easier it is for me to troubleshoot.
Generally speaking though if its not working correctly delete the macro and try re-importing it and see if that works.
If its a larger issue and others are experiencing it than there might have been an error exporting it and Iāll re-export them asap.
Ok with raid test we moved up to 74% parse on silken court which isnāt to bad (flask ran out and I didnāt refresh that poison trinket.) Iāll make a couple of more adjustments moving into next week.
Works like a charm ty ty made some changes to modifiers, besides that as always great work Thanks. <3
Iāve been testing a new build. So far I think I like it the best although its heavily CD dependent. I think it might be what I use going into M+ today. It can use the same macro as the one in the main post although I will post a new one later if I continue to like how the build performs.

Like one of the previous builds it does lower single target damage but has amazing survivability in aoe allowing you to pull much bigger than the build in the main post. Overall damage taken in a dungeon going from 58% or so to 46%, and frenzied regen dropping from the number one heal to number 5 behind earthwarden despite having a shorter CD (just no reason to press it at the moment.) So far Iāve been able to pull 3-6 packs consistently and have soloed a M0 boss with it. Its biggest problem at the moment seems to be pug healers capabilities keeping the rest of the group alive. If that trend continues than the build might not be worth it as its just extra mitigation that isnāt used at the cost of dps. But I suspect M+ tank damage will ramp up significantly.
In M+ you should save RotS for the start of pulls, you should get Incarn up every other pull to pull big with, and use Lunarbeam on CD unless its just about done in which case line it up with RotS on the next pull for extra damage.
Either way healers seem to like it.
Iām torn between Untamed Savagery and Tear and Rend. 25% damage is a lot of extra damage (the equivalent of 2 pnts in Flashing Claws) and you still get defensive value from the healing. On the other hand I think 6% damage reduction scales better with higher difficulty and of course you get less spikiness and you get 6% extra damage from Moonfire and Ironfur. I think its an area Iām going to have to sim for a clear answer.
Hey, I use this for BGS and PVP. Working great! thanks.
I change āImproved Stampeding Roarā ā āMighty Bashā. What do you think I should change more for PVP?
As long as its an Elune build you should be fine as the macro should work with any of the major builds.
As far as pvp talents. Iād probably pick up cyclone in arenas and shuffle as cc chains are important. Overrun is a great pvp talent as its a very short stun CD, malornes swiftness is another great choice as people can outrun you in BGās and its easy to keep them in combat and prevent them from eating, and in BGās it works with flag running meaning you are one of the few specs that can basically flag run with a mount.
As far as specific builds I would check out murlocIO and look at the top players for the content you are running.
The offtank macro works very well for single target fights, Iāll need to make some adjustments though because it caps on rage. At the moment if you cap on rage switch to the single target macro to dump it into IF or manually cast maul. Iāll get that update out by tomorrow.
Overall though a very nice increase over last week.
Testing the new M+ build so far was able to time a +5 Mist. Iāll be spamming these to see how high I can push in low gear, right now Iām only 597. My worry about defensives not being used was unwanted. You absolutely need RotS, incarn and Lunarbeam, everything hits hard enough where you need to be rolling them.
Also working on some new art for the macro. Still needs some work but I like the concept.
Great work, incredibly complex work
For the build you posted yesterday for M+, is it still the same GSE sequence?
can you maybe point out which spells are all manual casts?
The new build can run on the macro in the main post. Iāll make a version to tighten it up but honestly its not needed, it runs fine anyway.
Spells needed to be cast manually are going to be Incarn, Lunarbeam, RotS, any utility like typhoon, roar, or remove poison. You really canāt put the CDās in the sequence because you need to use them at particular times and not just on cool down.
alright thats is all i need
Thanks for that sequence! <3
