Wenlo The Ox Build, Mythic + and Raid Build for TWW S3

Hello everyone!

Today, I’m going to present what should be the most optimized damage build for Brewmaster during Season 3.

Brewmaster received a small rework to its talent tree for Season 3, and the biggest change by far is the massive buff to our Ox Invocation, which had been completely useless for years and is now our main source of damage.

What this build does is basically put your entire brew rotation on a single button, letting you focus only on basic tasks like interrupts, AOE CC, taunt, and managing Purifying Brew/Black Ox Brew.

As the title suggests, the idea behind this build is to optimize the damage output from your Ox Invocation, since it’s now our strongest damage tool.

We choose the Shado-Pan heroic talent instead of Master of Harmony to get a shorter cooldown on Weapons of Order, which allows us to summon the Ox more frequently and so should be overall a huge damage gain compared to the Moh Choice

The sequence will use the following order:

  • Keg Smash on cooldown
  • Breath of Fire
  • Blackout Kick, which activates Blackout Combo (+100% damage on Tiger Palm)
  • Tiger Palm
  • Rising Sun Kick
  • Exploding Keg
  • Chi Burst
  • Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox
  • Weapons of Order on cooldown

…then the sequence repeat.

The build is optimised to play with Shado Pan hero talent.

This is how your damage should look like

and a video of me running the sequence so you can quickly see if its does anything different for you and i can fix it in that case

Also your best stats for using this build gonna be Vers/Crit (For the new belt take the crit proc)

Defensive Ox Build variation (No breath of fire) :
Once we are further into the season and start pushing big keys, optimizing our survivability over our damage will become more important. At that point, we’ll swap to a No Breath of Fire build to take more defensive talents and optimize our Stagger instead.

Hope you enjoy the build,
Feel free to comment and tell me what you think of it or if you notice any error i could fix. And of course as always share with me your Mythic + Key sucess you will do with that build

S3 List of change for Brewmaster :

Set Bonus
Monk Master of Harmony 11.2 Class Set 2pc, Brewmaster:
Gaining vitality has an increasing chance to cause your next Tiger Palm to unleash a Harmonic Surge, dealing [80 * (400% of Spell power) / 100] Nature damage split between your target and other nearby enemies, and [20 * (500% of Spell power) / 100] healing to up to 5 injured allies.

Monk Master of Harmony 11.2 Class Set 4pc, Brewmaster:
Brewmaster
Casting [Celestial Brew] guarantees that your next 2 cast of Tiger Palm will trigger a Harmonic Surge.

Monk Shado-Pan 11.2 Class Set 2pc, Brewmaster:
Flurry Strikes deal 30% more damage and activating Weapons of Order instantly grants 10 stacks of Flurry Strikes that trigger on your next attack at 100% effectiveness.

Monk Shado-Pan 11.2 Class Set 4pc, Brewmaster:
Flurry charge generation is increased by 100% and Flurry Strikes triggers every 120 energy spent during Weapons of Order.

Walk with the Ox has been updated – Stomp damage has been doubled and its chance to trigger has been halved. Additionally, it now also reduces the cooldown of Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox by 30 seconds per point allocated.

Celestial Infusion (CI) - Choice node with Celestial Brew; same shield size and cd, but double the duration in exchange for only absorbing a portion of damage taken rather than all of it.

Niuzao’s Resolve (NR) - Healing spheres from Gift of the Ox/Spirit of the Ox become a HoT, dynamically adjusting in strength based on your missing health. This HoT stacks up to 5 times and works like Ironfur where each buff has its own separate timer. While talented, you will largely avoid pressing Expel Harm for healing.

Zen State (ZS) - Stagger’s effectiveness is increased by up to 20% based on your missing health. This is a linear increase.

Face Palm is now 100% proc chance (up from 50%), but its brew cdr has been cut in half.

Invoke Niuzao (+Improved) and Walk with the Ox have been updated. Ox will now Stomp every time you cast Purifying Brew while active, and its damage has been massively buffed. Walk with the Ox now grants up to 1 minute of cdr to the cooldown, and adds additional Stomp procs to your basic rotation. Improved Invoke Niuzao allows you to knock up nearby enemies once per summon. All of these bonuses also apply to Call to Arms

Zen Meditation and Celestial Flames have been removed.

Brews isn’t in the sequence right? As for your last MoH version. You had brews in rotation, thats how i remember it

The brew is intentionally excluded from the rotation, as both builds function differently. The MoH build focuses on spamming the brew and using it on cooldown, whereas this build works in the opposite way: the more stagger you purify at once, the greater the stomp damage from Ox will be. Ideally, you should only purify when your stagger reaches the red zone to optimize your damage.

Ahh okay, so the higher stagger the better. Gotha  thank you

Although not getting exact same results as your screenshot, the first build looks quite promising and I will be trying it out tomorrow.

But here’s a test I did tonight: (removed as creator has reviewed video)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I added alt and shift modifiers for brews and infusion to make things a little easier. So in each block I added before your line,

/cast [mod:alt] Purifying Brew
/cast [mod:shift] Celestial Infusion

I tried to add a ctrl mod but it doesn’t work for some reason - but not an issue

Looks like you added SCK to the sequence it almost never cast Keg Smash ( So its gonna result in an overall big dps loss , less brew cooldown reduction and less flurry strike) from what I can see in your video because of that change i think. but aside from that, it seems to be running smoothly.

Great spot - I forgot I did that! just deleted SCK and performs as intended. Thanks!

what sck mean ? sry i dont really know this

Spinning crane kick hehe

Thanks for the Macro! Im new with Brewmaster so im giving it a shot this season, but with this said in the Configuration you have Fr Ox and Eng Ox, do I need to keybind them both? sorry for my ignorance with the class! thanks again!

Underperforming, even worse in numbers and ability usage than your other build. Monk does not work in a sequential sequence, especially not if you consider tier set.

Thanks for sharing your sequence, though.
Cheers!

Fr is just the french version, Eng is english version. I maybe forgot to delete the fr version after i translated in eng before publishing it here

Hmm that sounds weird here the parse i did with it in M+ currently

Its run really smooth for me. Would you mind sharing a parse you did with it to see if everything work as intended ? Also check the video of me running the sequence on the post so you can compare if its does the same spell order for you or not

Did something happen to the talent code for the first part as this no longer has breath. Also on 3 mins at target dummy im dpsing about 2m where as in sims it should be 3.2m its not hitting enough blackout kicks it seems.

Ye little mistake doing the update, it should be fixed . Also try the sequence/build Defensive Ox Build variation (No breath of fire) and tell me how it goes and if you see improvement, i added a video of me using it on dummy so you can compare wenlo meta ox build sequence.mp4 (i’m at 4M+ dps) so more or less the number of the sim

Merci beaucop for taking the time and answering. Sadly I dont log my runs but I will try to keep my Details log as an image in my next run. Also, I got 4set today so maybe I will see a spike in performance. But I still have questions. Why do you fire both oxes almost at the same time and by that you overwrite the stagger defensive of Niuzao? Is it purely for dps?

And I also tried your build without breath of fire, which I actually like better, but it seems to skip the Rushing Jade Wind + Keg Smash sequence in it too often so the uptime on RJW is bad and Keg Smash sits on cooldown a lot. Maybe the castsequence has to be broken up into different blocks? Or the reset timer in the sequence is too long? I don’t know

I appreciate the work, and as I wrote in your Mistweaver sequence: excellent job.
Cheers!

Oh one more thing, you specced into Rushing Jade Wind but it is not in the sequence.

Great sequence, used it for Ky’veza on ??.

I played a No Breath Build with Master of Harmony and your defensive build and it works really well!

These are the talents:

I will try Shado Pan Ox build next.
Cheers!

This is lit. No complaints from me. I appreciate you.
