Wenlo The Shado-Pan Mythic+/Raid Build The War Within BrewMaster Monk (Udapted for S2)

Hello everyone !

After my last master of harmony tank build, today i will present to you an Heavy damage brewmaster build who would be more suited for agressive player who want optimise their damage at the cons of losing a bit of survivability, this build gonna give you the biggest damage possible on BrewMaster by using the shado pan spec and optimise the damage of our keg smash and flurry strikes.

Just like my last BrewMaster Build, this build put all your brew damage rotation on a single button, letting you only manage basic stuff like interuppt, AOE CC, taunt and défensive cooldown.

The idea of the build is to optimise your energy spender rotation to maximise the proc rate of flurry strikes, and letting you have insane damage for a tank, often ending a mythic + with an damage overall of 2 M damage in average.

The sequence gonna use in this order : Keg Smash on cd with breath of fire for the +20% damage on keg smash,Black Out Kick who gonna activate your black out combo buff mainly on Tiger Palm (+100% damage),Weapon Of Order,Keg Smash, Rising sun kick, Chi Burst/Exploding Keg for an optimal damage rotation.

S 2 : What have changed on Brew between S1 and S2 ?

We get a nice overall buff on brew for this new season , more damage, more tankyness ( With the buff to our celestial brew and a more usefull bonus set who buff both our damage and survability by a lot) and now both heroic talent who are equivalent performance wise.

Also your best stats for using this build gonna be Crit/Versatility/Mastery in this order, Outside of ou 4 Part Set item we dont want Haste at all. Try to reach around 20% Vers for 25% Crit and around 15% Mastery. Best overall option for the Cyrce’s cyrclet gonna be this one

I have literally been waiting for this one to release after your MoH build. I’ve been using that a lot and went smoothly on M+ 6 and definitely can be used above that level too. Been practicing BM monk without GSE for a while, but I like using it to take care of the basic rotation mechanics so I can focus on proper cooldown usage and defensive cooldowns. Tried out the Shadowpan and it doesn’t seem to include any purifying brew, celestial etc (defensive rotation). Is this as intended?

Hey glad you like the buid ! Ye its intended as you can see compared to the MoH build, our brew is kinda a rare ressource on the shado pan build so we can’t really use them on cooldown like we do with MoH, in that case it was better to let the player decide when its the best moment to use them . Also more time you spend with high stager better your dps gonna be du to the Mastery/Haste buff who depend of our stagger amount. So you have to learn a bit about the stagger management to know when to hold and when to purify

Between the two of them the MoH definitely feels more automated and “tanky”, which was your intention and plays well with the double brews! The Shado does better damage to help push mobs/bosses and the trade off is survivability. So it’s nice that the defensive CDs are manual so I can really time when I need them. I felt like sometimes with MoH it was using my defensive CDs in the sequence and sometimes would find myself in a bad spot when a tank buster was coming out, but luckily we have stagger and the sequence felt smooth enough to help get that stagger down.

I can’t choose between the two because I really like them both. I like to use GSE to cover the basic rotations of the classes I play and keep my major CDs free so the Shado-Pan sequence is what I have been running. But MoH will be nice for raid when i just want to focus on mechanics haha

Thanks for this Macro. i have used it all threw leveling to current. i have just started into undermine(d) and i guess waiting for season 2 to start for better gear.

im a solo player so i dont do dungeons or raids other then the follower dungeon. i will be trying to gear up from delves soon.

Do you have a character we can look up to see what your current gear is? or is there somewhere to go to find the best upgrades for our guys?

GIad its helped you, i can link you my char but since i play all spec in every content raid/mythic + / pvp my gear can change a lot on armory and will not be the one i use for the tank spec for exemple. But for the basic as brew outside of your 4 P set, you try to stack the most Crit/vers as possible with the least haste amount possible, since on brew its by far the worst stat. Here the gear i used as tank during S1

Did you found any problem running the sequence ? I’m more focused on healing part for the moment, since i do the raid mythic progress as healer with CE in mind with my guild but when i will push mythic + as tank again i will improve the macro if its needed
