Hey everyone, been a while since i posted and I’m back to playing WOW again.
Ok so updated talents and took some time to try out a few dozen scenarios. I think, as far as the rotation and DPS im getting with my low lvl gear. Im right where it should be. I checked and with the gear i have i am beating the sims across the board.
Good news, it doesn’t lock up and isn’t shard starved. Bad news. I don’t know the rotation for 4PC as i don’t have it and it might change depending on when i do get it.
OK so as far as the rotations. I took the defensive out of the standard rotation and put in Life drain as a modifier, but technically you can set up your own choices. What you change will have to be manual if you do. I chose to keep all my main defensives on separate keys so they are note wasted and my rotation is focused on straight dps.
As always, I need your feedback so it can continue to be tweaked. Also Feel free to take my work and make it better. This is for the community.
Sims are pushing max 112 and real about 100-105. So we are close. That’s promising. I wonder what your spell weight is. I have a thought that the uptime of incinerate might need a tweak. Maybe a talent swap. I’ll check it out with the sim data. Thank you for the update on the higher gear.
The aoe is nuts. It’s summing past balance and fire mage on my gear level which is now 359. Shadow fury a group and it’s all melted faces
Ok i spent about two hours tweaking options and I think i got a little better ST dps but I had to sacrifice 2% AOE to get it. but after running the numbers it was consistent the entire time and an improvement. I did redo the talents and did some research to find the balance and get the spell weight in order,
I updated the main post. let me know what you think.
Definitely in raid bosses it’s ST but all trash in raids and mythic need that aoe love. I’ve been messing with it for all the LFR raids and mythics and it’s doing well. It’s in line with Simc with the variants being gear changes and tier bonuses. I think we got a pretty good macro this round thanks to all the contributors.
What is not matched? I’m responding on my phone so I can’t see it. I thought they matched but I’d like to run some test tonight or tomorrow and see what needs tweaking. I’m getting more my self then that. I’m sure it’s something simple or a typo that no one caught until now.
You need way more haste and way less mastery. That will help increased your dps in mythic keys. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would let someone whos ilvl is 414 into a m+17 though.
Thanks for this macro. I like it a lot and made me enjoy destro again.
I noticed shift modifier was open and tried an ‘all in one’ version, Rain of Fire on shift.
Minor changes in the talents, mostly based on trying other spells / personal preference but focus on AOE talent choices, work in progress but i like it so far. Sequence changes mostly are Immolate on start/target and less in the sequence itself, trying out dimensional rift.
Figured i’d share it here since it is based of your template.
Thanks.
sweet, ill check it out. So i used to use shift all the time. But i love ELVUI and they have a default lock on task bars using shift, sure i could use other modifiers, but I already have them set to my mouse so i just used ctrl and alt. Technically if you also use elvui, or one of the alternatives from them. You can pick any mod key to lock bars. Or technically not use one at all, but it’s all preference.
OK, so I was going to say something similar about haste as it changes the second you have tier. So no tier gear haste is greater than or equal to mastery, but with gear its way more important and should be prioritized
Haste makes it so you cast your spells faster, reduce the CD of Channel Demonfire and Conflagrate, and increase Immolate’s tick rate. This is why haste is our best secondary stat.
Mastery is just a passive damage increase and has gained some value due to the talent Chaos Incarnate.
Critical Strike increases the chance of your spells dealing a critical chance. Crit also gives Chaos Bolt more damage. It provides 1% damage per 1% crit to it.
Versatility is just a passive damage increase and passive damage reduction stat.(methods assessment)
I agree with this. My hast hear and same rotation produced more dps at a lower ilvl than my demo gear with higher mastery.
