Could you please repost your edites macro here? This is exaclty what I am also looking for. With GSE3 I do not get it where to edit the lines for AoE Macro part.
Hey guys just wanted to leave my impressions here after I used the alteration of @DocBBQ for a while now. I can reach my Sim DPS for the first time with a macro, and can also tell that this macro at least for me is the best ele shaman macro right now.
@Baujahr1984 That’s whats so awesome about this community, and why I feel feedback and suggestions always help to improve us. I don’t play ele shaman, and put a macro together for a friend, posted it on here and @DocBBQ - more experienced with the class picks it up, makes some changes and it’s working even better!
I was hoping to see updates to CrazyLarry’s macros, which I am currently using, but have seen a drop off on my dps of late. Not sure why or what has changed, but was hoping for updates.
Saw this posting, downloaded the macro, but I can’t really use it effectively. I am not good with modifier keys because they tend to throw my rhythm off. I usually separate out those skills to individual keys to use as needed since not every encounter is the same. But for some reason this one is not working very easily for me.
I’ll continue to try it but since I am not proficient in editing these macros, I tend to skew them totally off the chart and destroy them in the process. If there is anyone able to edit them into different macros that don’t require the modifiers, I would be grateful.
My macro’s don’t contain modifiers, as i don’t like to use them either. Look at the top post, and try that macro, rather than the ones edited by members, who have added modifiers.
For mythic+ it looks like Echoes of Great Sundering is best by a good bit plus it’s good for single target. For raiding it is Windspeaker’s Lava Resurgent by a good bit as well. This info comes from Icy-Veins and wowhead as they both agree on the best leggos for ele shammy. Hope this helps!
And of course with the changes introduced with the new gear that will have slots, the suggested gear piece has changed as well. I tend to check Icy Veins for suggestions there and so far they’ve done pretty well.
I’ve also tried Ask MrRobot but their addon/webpage setup is not always the same. Seems it changes about every several times I use it and it just is confusing…which leads me to have a bag full of pieces I can use but not sure which is best overall because their suggestions change so often.
Am back to report on my use of the new macro from the top of the page. I was in raid last night and the highest dps I could count on reliably was only 1.5k overall. Which is much lower than it used to be. So I think this macro is not designed with raiding in mind.
It does seem to work fine in open world content but not in raid. Pretty disappointed I can’t find something I can use reliably during raid. Most of the time I have to move before I even finish any of my casts which sucks eggs. Seems Bliz devs designed the new content for players who can move and dps on the run. Totally fails to take into consideration that many caster specs HAVE to stand still at least long enough to get their cast off.
I gave up on it and will continue to see what I can find. Being as old as I am, my reaction times are not what they used to be and definitely not on par with many younger players. That was the reason I sought out a macro so I could pay more attention to the immediate area and not have to worry about which skill to cast when…or which combos work better for movement heavy situations.
If anyone has any suggestions or can help me with this, I would be grateful. But I do like how this particular macro works in open world content.
All casters will drop DPS on fights which require a lot of mobility. As a Shammy, I think you can drop Spirit Walkers Totem so that you can continue to move and cast. Maybe that might help?
An alternative class / spec to play with better mobility may be Beast Master Hunter? They have good mobility, and can continue to cast whilst they’re moving.
